Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is nice and peaceful. Nice spacious rooms especially the deluxe one.

When we reached the hotel to check in, our booking was not existent in their books. Although I have done the booking thru booking.com The hotel is not 5 stars.. the Tv channels menue is poor as well as the restaurant menue in the hotel. Towels in the room were worn out, not fresh. Breakfast buffet was not as per 5 stars standard.

-personally the hotel design seemed to minimalistic to me (lots of concrete) - guests coming through booking.com have to pay the full stay in advance!!

All the staff, except the managers were very friendly and nice; modern flat screen with tv, movies, CDs, music big, spacious room right on the beach

1.After a long and exchausting drive in Sri Lanka country side, without a proper welcome at the hotel, the managers forced me to pay my bill for the whole stay and they have frighten me that if I refuse to pay it, they will throw me out of the hotel. 2. An additional bed was requested and billed at a high price, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and old. They did not agree to make a discount for that. 3. The deluxe room was next to the bar - very noisy, all the staff started their work early in the morning, loud talking, dragging carrages, etc. 4. the main path between the restaurant and the bar was just in front of our room, so during the whole day a full row of people was passing by. 5. No facilities for kids 6. Even though it has been advertised in the Hotel information, the internet connection was very poor and only occassional. 7.

The clean beach, the big spacious rooms and a fantastic staff. Amazing food and very economical.

In room dining menu is very limited, however that wasn't an issue as we wanted to explore local food and hence ventured out.

Spa was really bad considering its a 5 star. When I told the Spa section executive that the girls need more training, she replied saying "thats how sri lankans are". Not an attitude you would expect from staff in a 5 star.

The hotel rooms, architecture and grounds were lovely. The beach is beautiful. The Sri Lankian people have a beautiful nature. Affordable. The spa was very reasonable in price and was booked out as a result.

The staff haven't been trained properly,service was very slow and everyone seemed to be running around in circles achieving little. I believe if they were trainned better this could be a fabulous hotel to stay in but clearly the management is poor and there is little direction. The staff want to do a good job they just don't know how. The food is average and needs rethinking. I wouldn't recommend this hotel because you can do better elsewhere. Hyigene in dining room could be better. I saw staff pick a dropped folk off the floor and use it in the cooking. A chef sat down at a table during breakfast time and ate. We had room service, a club sandwich which was stone cold, I sent it back and it came back retoasted on the burnt side 20 minutes later. It says it all really. Beyond the hotel there is nothing, eating out is poor but that maybe a result of where the tuk tuks suggested or the hotel. We didn't have a good meal.

Flies .. it seems like a problem with the whole country we were not able to find a single place without this problem in the whole country and this hotel is not an exception , food was horrible too .

We have a fantastik rest! Beautiful room, very nice disign in the hotel, friendly staff, plesant atmosfere! It was great to waking up, hearing the ocean...

We was without kids and would like to return with them to this hotel, but, unfortunatly, there is no animation for kids.

Its too dark in the room, next to the mirror in bathroom and wardrobe. Difficult to make up(. And extra laundry service doesn t work(

Beautifully designed by the famous architect in Sri Lanka Geoffrey Bawa, this hotel has the perfect mix of a wonderful location on a perfect quite isolated beach with amazing sunsets as well as proximity to the buzz of the local town and two excellent restaurants within 5 minutes walk. From your room you can enjoy a view over the pool and/or sea and similarly from the restaurants. Plentiful sunbeds with lovely views. It's wonderfully relaxing. You can swim and surf safely. The hotel serves fresh fruit juice for breakfast and good croissants and the usual variety of hot and cold food . The Thai restaurant is very elegant and the Thai soup is excellent. The buffet is good and better than many hotels since the meat and fish is not overcooked and tough which is too frequently the case.

At first we disliked the rotting bamboo type of blind in our shower. The hotel changed it immediately for an alternative sample blind. The refrigerator made a lot of noise (not experienced elsewhere in lesser hotels ) so we turned it off. There is not a great deal of space for your clothes and the drawers can only be accessed by opening the wardrobe which blocked the entrance to the bathroom. Although the room is attractively designed and very pleasant to be in and has a colossal tv screen facing the bed it is not superior in comfort to use. Perhaps the table would be better replaced by a chest of drawers? Next time I would request one of the rooms where the wardrobe faces the bed!

Rooms are close to the railway line to Colombo and if your sleep is "light" You might get a wake up call at dawn...

The location is good, you have direct access to the seaside but the hotel boundries end a little before the beach, so the beach is not private. The room service was good. The staff are friendly and helpful.

There were little and big insects in the room. It was more suitable for more senior people or couples. We found it a little boring for young travellers unless you are traveling with a group. I also did not like it that they ask you to pay for the room on your arrival although they had my credit card details.

Location: Next to the beach. Close to airport - 2 hours. Good hotel to recover from time difference. 2 swimming pools. Rooms, Superior, large with a terrace straight out of bedroom.

Manager gave me a birthday cake and gave us a special fish dinner outside our room- in private. No fights for sun loungers- we had our own! Very peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended.
