It's 75 feet from on the beach Had a kitchen and would cook anytime No rooms have aircon but have fan Wifi in lobby not in rooms Staff nice but limited English like most places in sri lanka Muslim place no bar
The bed I could feel the slats under the mattress. It was a hard sleep. Maybe because I went in the off season I felt like the place was a bit of a wasteland. Was not the worst place I slept in but almost. Made up for by the prime location and safety of the beach. There is an armed guard as the place is adjacent to a military camp. Much of the hotel was damaged by the tsunami and a lot has not been rebuilt. Not far from trincomolee which is good. For the money it was satisfactory.
Very helpful manager Fair price Location close to the beach
Rooms simple, maybe too simple, Far from any bar, Single beds forming fake king size, a wooden canyon in the middle
nice location and nice dinner for the outside
bad wifi.wifi is doesnt work.room is very durty also bathroom.bed is not comfortable.staff is not in help for the travel guideness.food testy but no have more choice.overprize.
Close to the beach. Good quality for price. Good rooms with essential furniture.
The military area it has next to it. We had a room with fan and we were very hot at night. No facilities around (restaurants, supermarkets)...
Kind and helpfull staff. Good location, close to the beach. Easy to get to Pigeon Island. Good price point.
Rooms are low standard. Hotel location in muslim area, hence early morning prayers.
Excellent beach, Best ib Sri-Lanka September is dry month\ Could by fruits around Peageon Island
Very close to the Ocean and Pigeon Island. The manager, Mohammed Sadiq was very helpful and responsible. Inner Garden was very beautiful and quiet. We payed 75 bucks for three days and I think Shahira is probably the best price-quality place to stay in Nilaveli First impression wasn't that good, but eventually we enjoyed staying there! We can also can give advise to go to the boats if you want to visit Pigeon Island for snorkeling - it will be cheaper there.
No first aid kit at hotel, not even any Iodine or antiseptique (we cut ourselves while we snorkeled so you better wear flippers there)
1 min walk from the beach relaxing garden full of local animals (invited...and not! Like monkeys...) Gentle staff, good dinner
It is on a border of a military base (but at end this is not so annoying, you do not realize it when you are there)
Not the most comfortable but please spare a thought for the people and the history of the place. The hotel was used by the military during the war. The management has done a good job at presenting us with manageable rooms. Bathrooms are not the best in the world but functional and sufficient. Very friendly staff who tried to accomdate our needs including a 5am departure for our onward journey.
Lack of attention by the owner, who at the same time was disrespectful with our driver. The rooms are very simple and would need an update as well as better conservation. At arrival you are given a menu so that you order breakfast, dinner, etc. Note there is a good restaurant owned by a very nice family just a minute away walking to the opposite side of the beach, with a much better value for money. It seemed to us as if all the owner wanted was to get more and more money out of you.
If you like isolated and quiet, then Nilaveli is a perfect place. The guesthouse is located in a quiet area close to the beach.
Rooms were not clean, the staff is not able to speak a little English and it is expensive instead of Uppeveli. If I would come to this area again, I would stay in Uppeveli. More competition between guesthouses, so better rooms and offers.
The staff were very helpful. (Local) food was very good!
We didn't mind, because we only slept there for one night, but the rooms were simple and not very clean.
near the seashore, no vehicle noise , and caring manager.
not many choices of food or drink
Helpful staff, cute garden with seating around it, cheap place in Nilaveli. Sorted moped for us during our stay which was really useful.
This was the only budget travel option we could find online in Nilaveli but there are better places for the same price once you arrive. Food was good but a bit expensive compared to local other places to eat. Was an okay budget place to stay but nothing special and worth looking around for alternatives once you arrive.
This hotel is a 2 minute walk from the amazing beach
I don't blame the staff for cleanliness because of the nature of the location with a lot of greenery surrounding it, I woke up many times to see reptiles and cook roaches in our bathroom. Besides, it's very hot there and we had no air conditioning. We sweat like pigs.
Great price and location - close to the beach. Very nice garden. Staff friendly and helpful, especially Manager Mohamed Sadiq. He was very friendly and polite. Every day of our stay he was making sure that we have everything we need. Many thanks. Highly recommended. Marta and Rafal.
Located a minute's walk away from the beach. Took a trip to pigeon island, which was really good for snorkeling. Facilities for the same were convenient.
Lunch wasn't great.
Manager treated us well.
Location is good
Distance to the beach. Service.
Decor of rooms could be more optimistic: the walls were covered in fungi, which looked bad. Plus more light in the room wouldn't hurt.
Location is ok not very good, you have to pass a solider point to get to the beach. The feeling is bad when you see a solider with gun in his hand when you are on your vacation.
The manager recommend me a tall boatman to pigeon island, he charged me almost twice than the other tourists with me on the boat，then he recommend him to take me to the bus station next, but I refused to use him. This makes me feel very horrible. And food here overpriced a lot and not tasty, so I ate cup noodles instead. Just do not like the staff because he recommended me a bad boatman.
Hotel within walking distance from the beach, nice garden, WIFI really good. The staff quite friendly, even except the manager they don't speak any English.
I guess that this place has never been repainted or renovated since it was build. The walls, both inside and outside, look terrible, dirty and scratched, a very weird smell inside, the tiles in the bathroom probably my age :)). Old furniture, probably before the war. With a bit of effort from the owners this place can really be a nice one. So dear owners, instead of doing nothing all day long, grab a brush and renovate this place.
Management & Staff were very friendly & Helpfull indeed. Will certainly return to stay again
Good price, the hotel was close to the beach. They had a good wifi connection and the shower had a good temperature. The food we had in the restaurant was good, which includes chicken soup, breakfast, and grilled fish with french fries. The staff was helpful in arranging a sightseeing trip around Trincomalee as well as letting us rent bikes through their contacts.
The food was maybe a bit pricey compared to other options. For budget travellers there's a restaurant within walking distance called Siva, which has rice and curry for 200 (vegetable) or 250 (fish).
The manager Mr. Mohamed Sadiq is very friendly experianced and clever. If I would habe a hotel I would ihre him as General manager!
