Very good service and clean! You got a welcoming drink when arriving and every morning the breakfast is servers in the foyer of you level at your required time. The manager Mr Suranjith is very help for and professional. As we go to Kandy for one night after checking out and we wished not bringing the luggage with us, the hotel allowed our luggage stored in the hotel without any charge.
Cleanses, helpful, money value.
Overall it was outstanding and I was so pleased that I commenced and ended my stay in Sri Lanka at this hotel. The staff were wonderful, so was the breakfast, the room was very large and provided hanging space. The location was extremely good and provided easy access to ATM's, supermarket and transport..
Overall, it was just outstanding and I was so happy that I commenced my trip to Sri Lanka with a 3 day stopover and was there for the last night.
I like the the way of employer how to treat us a guest and the way they talk..they are kind friendly and good friend..welling to help just keep it the goos work guys and good behaivor...
Actually only i dont like is why you dont want to provide a food for dinner and lunch..??much better u providing also a lunch and dinner..that's it..
The location is pretty good, the bed is comfortable, wifi is fast, the food is fair
The mould! the bathroom and toilet was full of mould- the stink was so serious, it was almost impossible to breath. The shower curtain had mold almost 20 centimeters from the ground- it was literally black. The staff has had times speaking english sometimes. I would rate this place 2 start the most
Staff were very helpful at all times & very informative
Hard to find
Large room, good hot water, helpful staff, good breakfast.
Bed lamps not working. Cleaning in bathroom eg shower curtain and stainless steel fittings could be better. Road works were noisy at night but are bow almost completed.
We stayed in White House Residens in the beginning of November 2014. Service was excellent. All the staff was treating us like a royal family. Very personalised service. Location is very comfortable. You can find everything that you need because this is a centre. We will highly recommend this place and will come back again.
- Amazing, friendly, helpful and efficient staff who genuinely want to make guests comfortable and happy - all were great but Surajti and Fernando stand out; - Impeccably clean and well-maintained premises and facilities all in excellent working order: - WiFi, aircon, fan, TV with DVD player (and lots of DVDs to borrow), fridge, kettle, hot water...and a comfortable bed; - Really nice, plentiful breakfast: juice, fruit, yoghurt, omellete with fried tomato, toast with condiments, coffee[ - location - not too far from Colombo Fort Railway Station (about 4km or 300rps in a tuk-tuk), Premasiri Supermarket with attached alcohol shop just down the street, lots of good restaurants nearby All in all, a great base from which to explore Colombo
We liked everything but suggest a Microwave in the kitchen area so guests can heat up take-away food; business cards with a min-map on the back to show the location for taxi/tuk-tuk drivers and some more tolietries.
cleanliness room staff
no toiletries no AC in common areas limited food options
We spent our first night in Sri Lanka in a Superior Double Deluxe Room then came back after cutting short a disappointing stay in Galle. We are also planning on returning after our visit to Kandy because we enjoyed it so much. Although the premises are not 5-star, we would give it a 5-star review for the following reasons: 1. The amazingly friendly, cheerful and efficient staff - they all go out of their way to ensure guests are comfortable, safe and happy. They are minding our big bags for us while we go to Kandy and we have absolute faith in their trustworthiness. Having just come from India, it has been lovely to have such service without someone putting their hand out for a tip every time you ask a question; 2. The premises are well-maintained and immaculately clean and everything worked in our room- aircon, WiFi, fan, fridge, hot water, TV and DVD player (lots of DVDs to borrow too). The king-sized bed is also comfy and we liked the balcony, even if the view is not so great; 3. The breakfasts served were perfect for our tastes- juice, fresh fruit, yummy omelette with fried tomato, toast and condiments and coffee. I don't know how anyone could complain about it; 4. Despite being on a busy road, the rooms are quiet and the premises are well-located - a supermarket with wine/beer section just down the street and several excellent restaurants nearby. It's an easy walk to the water and only about 4km (roughly 300 rupees) in a Tuk-Tuk) to the Colombo Fort Railway Station. All in all, an excellent base for Colombo.
We have no real criticisms, just suggestions...perhaps a microwave in the kitchen area so people can reheat their take-away food and some additional toiletries, apart from just soap. Oh and some new business cards with a mini-map on the back for taxis/tuk-Tuk drivers - more economical, more functional and more environmentally friendly.
1) The bed was so comfortable I keep falling asleep and didn't want to get up. 2) The Wi-Fi was accessible as soon as password and username were logged on to phone. I had problem regarding Wi-Fi connection even in 5-star hotels 3) Very homely hotel; staff very attentive but not intrusive 4) Very near shopping centres like Liberty Plaza, Crescat Boulevard, Barefoot so didn't have to spend money on taxi or tuk-tuk
Maybe they could paint the wall facing on the other side of the entrance to the hotel as its an eye sore to the entrance of the hotel though it does not form part of the hotel itself.
Friendly staff, good food & cleanliness.
Staff Breakfast wifi Location
The entrance is in a corner The view is of garbage The rooms are old-fashioned
I arrived at 2.30am and the manager had stayed awake to check me in. He also allowed a late checkout a few days later as I had a late flight. The service and all staff were truly excellent. They simply could not do enough to help me. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Not having access to an in house restaurant for an evening meal.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms and beds comfortable and big. Air conditioning and wifi working great. I recommend a Sri Lankan breakfast
Breakfast was good
room very clean and comfortable staff very helpful
hard to walk from hotel, on very busy road with a lot of roadworks going on
Location, though that too is at a disadvantage since there is a lot of construction going on alongside this property.
Definitely, not a value for the kind of money spent. I stayed in same location in a different place, which was way better and with more and delivered facilities. Staff is considerate, but what i saw in Sri Lanka was way better than this.
The location. Room boy Fernando was excellent. He was very supportive rather he was the only one best available in this property
It is never a hotel, it is only a flat rented out. Breakfast is just 2 pcs of bread and some pcs of fruits with a small glass of juice( not fresh) Don't have even chair and table to work with laptop , no phone in the room even to call the reception counter. Not even having an Invoice they just have a small piece of paper writing the bill and showing tax of course not paid to Govt. I don't understand how this is coming with 4 star in booking.com site. Please check before you post
Good attention to guest's needs
Location was excellent, within easy reach to station and all shopping areas. The manager Suranjith was very helpful and full of information and guided us with planning our daily trips. Felt like home from home. Thank you all
Everything was excellent
A delightful stay, initially for two nights on arrival in Colombo and then for one night at the end of my travels. Other reviews have detailed information on facilities, food & location. For me, what stood out most was the staff, especially the manager Suranjith. He readily agreed to early check-in and graciously provided breakfast which was most appreciated after a long international flight. He was most attentive to my needs. The couple who prepared and provided breakfast also deserve deserve special mention. The friendly security guard was delightful - he's very proud of the hotel. Not only did he give me directions to a nearby restaurant, he insisted in walking with me to ensure I didn't get lost! And if you need a helpful, honest tuk-tuk driver with good English, call Rukman on 071 511 8136.
the bed was very comfortable the bedding and towels were very clean the breakfast was good and the area for eating and the kitchen were spotless the staff were very nice however we did ask to see the owner about the room but she did not make herself available and only later did we find out she was present at breakfast
there was no terrace no toiletrys although when I asked I was given some conditioner no hair dryer in room no iron no chair no tray for tea and coffee which were on top of the fridge there was no vanity unit in the bathroom so nowhere to put shampoo etc also the bathroom was poor the curtain was drawn all day because of the dirty small area outside the window
The location is very good and the staff very helpful
they dont have a restaurant or a pool but you can order meals from nearby restaurants.
