Hôtel de la Gaichel is a traditional family hotel in Eischen, on the border of Belgium and Luxembourg. All rooms have a beautiful view of the surrounding park.
Score from 47 reviews Excellent
location and surroundings are nice. but it has nothing to do with the hotel
staff is greedy and not helpful. rooms are quite small and schabby. restaurant by the hotel is expensive and not good either. wifi is only available in the reception area.
They did everything but we're good at nothing , very overpriced
Location. Comfortable room. Excellent restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff.
Nothing springs to mind!
However I've been there for business reason, it is very good hotel for holidays and relax. It is located in small village just near castle ruins. Room is large and thematic equipped (my was "fisherman"), even with minibar. Wifi is working properly. Breakfast - good with wide chose. Evening restaurant too - I suggest to take one of menu composed. Reception offer thousands brochures about everything, what you can find in the neighbourhood. All streets in the village can be walked in max 25 minutes, but there are some paths around. Really good place to stay there for more than one or two days.
I discovered additional drinks in restaurant bill. I suggest to check bill after a dinner, not two days later during hotel payment.
Room was clean and bed comfortable
No tea/coffee making facilities Only one comfortable chair in room Having to carry bags from bottom of hill
The village is beautiful and the countryside there is amazing
Poor food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and trying to give the impression it was high quality. Some staff were surly. Nowhere to park.
Fantastic location in a sublime setting Friendly, helpful staff Good food
Area is very pretty and quiet but has very few places to eat. The hotel with garage and the roads in the area are great for motorcycling; a two or three night stay would be enough time to explore the area. The rooms were comfortable and clean, food was ok.
The owner had a weird sense of humour and seemed to self important, breakfast not good enough for a four star hotel, but over all a very pleasant stay.
friendly staff, outdoor dining, great breakfast
Second time at this lovely hotel - and would definitely go back again! The owner has a real dry sense of humour which may be misread at times, but which we found to be refreshing and entertaining! All staff excellent and friendly.
There was excellent lighting in the room. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip. The sausage and cheese selections were far above the norm. It was fun to walk through the maze of corridors and public rooms lined with books to get to our room.
The restaurant person that waited on us each evening was very pleasant and helpful.
The front desk personnel, who own the place were somewhat abrupt and unpleasant. Maybe it was a language problem, but my impression was that they didn't want to be there.
Good views and the young waiter in restaurant was very good.
Was not impressed with my meal in restaurant - it was very salty and I couldn't eat it. The waiter said he would tell the chief and the owner came over and said he would try it, I therefore assumed it would be knocked off the bill but no it was on the bill next morning. Place is quite small so your choices of places to eat are quite limited. Waiters /staff all smartly dressed while owner in jeans and hoody!
A beautiful, quirky hotel with great facilities and very helpful friendly staff
big, clean room
Pretty small place between sharp hills, nice town.
Breakfast Buffet a bit poor.
A great hotel, full of character and with the most comprehensive information for travellers I gave ever encountered. Excellent restaurant too.
