We booked the 'penthouse suite' and it was a very nice & spacious room with bubblebath. The breakfast was also very good, with a large selection of bread, cake, fruits, yoghurts. The inhouse pizzeria is also worth a visit.

The room was a bit outdated. Furniture etc looked old-fashioned. That is not so bad but also the beds & matrasses were old and not as comfy as we expected for a room like this. Despite this we really enjoyed the room and our stay in beautiful Vianden.

The hotel is in an idyllic location with fantastic views of the river, the village and the castle. We stayed in the apartment so waking up to these views was extremely refreshing. Lift access is fantastic, Paul Petry and his wife were very helpful. The apartment was surprisingly spacious, kitchenette facilities were adequate and the restaurant served very tasty meals.

One toilet for 6 people, shower very slow and difficult to direct

Even though I was a dirty backpacker heading in from the trail, I was made most welcome and given a nice spacious room. I especially enjoyed being able to use the beautiful pool facilities at their other hotel.

Vianden is picturesque and friendly. The hotel is central, beside the river, and convenient for the Schloss, and chairlift. Restaurant very comprehensive, with in-house pizza oven. Rooms spacious and well appointed. Staff and owners friendly. Good value, and relaxing. Very popular and busy.

Main car park 200 meters away.

We travelled with our 6mth old baby and found this hotel to be great. Staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Having a choice between 2 restaurants was great. We found the pizzeria to be perfect for our needs. We had a view of the castle from our bathroom window and enjoyed a swim in the pool belonging to the hotel next door. We recommend this hotel for sure.

We had one of the penthouse rooms, on the 3rd floor.The bedroom, shower/bathroom area was spacious and very clean.The kitchen area was sufficiently equipped (plates, little oven).The view from our window was excellent. Parking lot is close to the hotel. Very nice and helpful staff

We liked the friendly staff of the hotel, the relaxing view to the river and the amazing food!

Location

Most of the parking was a couple of minutes walk away (not mentioned in web site), which could be a problem for some guests. Pizzeria and restaurant were separated, but have a common kitchen. Therefore, I don't understand why the staff were reluctant to serve a pizza and a meal from the restaurant menu in the restaurant. The rooms could benefit from coffee/tea making facilities. Early standard check in of 6 pm and no reply to an email query for a later check in.

Good hotel, food excellent. Room was large and comfortable with a good view of the Vianden Chateau

Wifi did not work well in room 201.

Mr. Petry contacted us prior to our stay to offer us accommodation at Belle Vue as an alternative as the restaurant would be closed at Hotel Petry. We elected to stay at Belle Vue and the accommodation was lovely with wonderful views of the castle and a lovely pool also offering a lovely view of the castle. Staff were wonderful and the food was incredible!

The Location was really nice, alongside the river. The hotel was very clean and tidy. A great range of food was available. Private parking. Good value for money.

Bar staff noisily moving bottles & suchlike late at night on one of the nights. Especially annoying when the hotel information in the room stated they are a quiet hotel which their customers like.

I loved the room we had. It was very beautiful, clean, comfortable and very spacious. The bed was a little soft for my taste but quite comfortable overall. If we didn't come to visit the town and castle I would have loved to lounge around in the room all day! It was right on the river. They even had some play equipment for our daughter which she loved to use. I would stay here again.

The breakfast was ok and sufficient but I would have loved some hot items and a cappuccino machine always brightens up my morning! Not sure if it was really worth just under 10Euros. That would really be the main thing I could see improvement with. Also, there was someone filling in at the front desk when we checked in and she was very nice and got us our keys but we couldn't pay and she said to come back later that night because there wouldn't be anyone there in the morning either. We thought this a little odd and didn't catch anyone at night either but luckily found someone in the morning to check us out (maybe having someone at the dest regularly would be helpful, especially if guests need things when they're in their room, we would have liked information on the pool the site said we could use at the neighboring hotel but couldn't go because there was no one to talk to). They have 2 restaurants there that also smell up the whole hotel in all the halls at night. Being pregnant, the smell wasn't too enjoyable but it didn't get into the room so that's all I really cared about.

Stayed in Penthouse room on 3rd floor, and although room was slightly shabby, it was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Bathroom was reasonable size with large whirlpool bath and shower over. No aircon, but a fan was provided which kept us cool at night. Hotel has small car park at rear, with further free parking available a short walk away. Breakfast was plentiful and reasonably priced. We ate at the hotel both nights of our stay, and found the quality and portion sizes very good, although some of the waitresses were quite surly and ignorant. As a guest at The Petry you are able to use the Swimming Pool at the nearby Belle Vue. This is a lovely pool with a small sunbathing terrace and very welcome on a hot day.

Slightly shabby (hole in wall from door handle and some broken tiles in bathroom), and some furnishings could do with being updated, but overall a comfortable hotel. Some of the waiting staff in restaurant were quite ignorant.

Clean friendly and in a good location

Tried to bill me a much higher rate than shown on booking.com. Keep your booking details with you as I did. Quickly corrected.
