Hotel Le Royal  

Excellent people with good manners and great hospitality. The friendly atmosphere makes a good environment. Our thanks to the ladies at the reception, the concierges and the bellboys.

We have only good words to say

The hotel was very clean, and in a great location in the heart of Luxembourg.

The staff at the Hotel Le Royal was fantastic! Everybody was so kind and helpful.

The bedding needs some serious updating! The sheets and pillow cases and pillows were old and very rough. The quality was not that of such a highly rated (expensive) hotel. We had a "club" room which was 100 euro more than the "traditional" room, and besides the size of our bathroom, there was nothing different. I do not think a plate of fruit and a silly "private hallway and elevator" should add that much to the bill. We had dinner that evening at Le Jardin, and let me tell you..bring loads of Euro!! We had the set menu for New Year's for three people and the total came to 449.00!! I thought my Husband was going to have a stroke! Next time,... Who am I kidding there will be no next time, ask how much it will be before hand. It would have been nice to have the price on the menu, but it was our fault for not asking. A very expensive lesson! And on one last note, when we were checking out the next morning thier lobby allows smoking, and they were out in force. I don't know you, but when I walk into a hotel lobby to check in, the last thing I want to be hit with is a cloud of cigarette smoke. Really gross.

Convenient location.

Not having stayed before, a little disappointing based on reports I'd heard.

Service was fantastic - one of the best I have seen in Europe. Location is great if you want to be in the city centre....main shopping square with variety of restaurant options less than 5 minutes walk. Less than 5 min by taxi to the station. Great hotel with great facilities. Will definitely recommend this highly.

Not a complaint - but it will help if the pillows are a bit more firm...they were too soft

The staff were most useful. Th ehotel was very clean and had a very modern decor that appeared understated when viewed online.

This hotel is primarily a business hotel and as a result it is quiet, very quiet. Which meant that if you staying for there for a short-break, you are not woken up early in the morning by families making their way to breakfast! The staff are excellent, really efficient and friendly. The location was excellent, right in the middle of Luxembourg city and within easy reach of shops, bars, restaurants and the main square.

It is hard to rate this hotel as I feel that aspects of it are 5 star while others are 4 star. The service is most definitely what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. I am glad that we got a special rate for our room, because I would have been disappointed if we had paid the full rate. The room is very dated and looks like it could do with an upgrade. There is no air conditioning and the windows could not be opened. There are no tea/coffee making facilities and the WIFI while it was available, was very slow and took for ever to open up pages and download documents. Each time to logged off had to go through the entire process of accessing the WIFI, instead of just being able to switch on and automatically get WIFI as a prior user which is what you would expect. Also while the WIFI was free, this is for the very basic 'slow' level. If you wanted faster WIFI you had to pay for it. If you are on company business, thats OK, but if you are using the hotel for a short break - its another unexpected expense. Overall this is a good place to stay if you want to be close to the city and all the attractions. It is very expensive though and the rooms, bar area and reception could do with an upgrade.

Great location and very friendly staff. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. Very clean.

Room service came 3 times to our room while we were there.

Everything was great, the room, the restaurant and the people that work there.
