It's a detail but during the night my body heat seemed to warm up the bed, to a point that the bed felt like it had a heated blanket, it seemed to hold the heat - which in winter I can imagine would be a massive plus point. The access to wifi wasn't great in the garden or downstairs bedroom that I was in - well, completely unobtainable in the bedroom. breakfast was great, including the selection of bread and bread rolls - fresh and perfect quality, but no croissants...
The restaurant was great value for money and the waiter was extremely professional, polite and helpful. upon arrival one man didn't notice me standing there but as soon as the women finished on the phone I was dealt with promptly and professionally. The location and grounds were perfect and free wifi is always a great added bonus!
I really wish there was wifi in the rooms but it is quite nice that everyone comes downstairs to the communal areas to use it. A few kids running around on one night but that was more down to bad parenting rather than the hostel itself. Showers were kind of annoying as the water pressure is a bit weak and the temperature only gets so hot. The floors get soaked as well but I brought flip flops which I would highly recommend others doing! Every door in the place seems to slam which is not conducive to getting much sleep but I was right next to the door in our room so it was probably more of an issue for me.
The staff were very friendly and helpful especially when I locked my padlock keys in my locker! They were able to help me with that and provided a new lock for a refundable deposit. They also printed out a few documents for me including my boarding pass so I was very happy with the service. The breakfast was adequate but not really for me as I prefer something hot in the morning. But given it was included in the price, I can't complain. I liked that it was close to the city as well. It was very easy to get there if only hard work for getting up the hill but to be fair it was a good workout for the legs and the views once you reached the top are pretty spectacular. The bus stop is also very close to the hostel so I could get to the airport and to the centre of town very easily and the fare was not bad at all (only 2 euros). The atmosphere of the hostel is good but it's not a very sociable type of hostel in the sense that there are no activities etc... They provide a packed lunch (5.50) which was very welcome for me as I went hiking on the sunday and needed lunch on the go.
Over the top large well kept, clean, efficiently run facility. Had a cafeteria style restaurant. Nice standard Euro breakfast (sliced meat, cheese, bread, jam, nutella, yogurt, cereal, milk, tea, coffee, juice) Very short walk to main city attractions. Beautiful location.
No outlets/lights be beds, shower that turned off every 20secs so you have to keep hitting it. Staff was pretty nice except for shorter man with dark hair at dinner, very rude and unhelpful. Breakfast and dinner buffet not a lot of options but it was good.
Location - although not in city centre it is very close, just a good hike back up! Beautiful area. Nice patios and common rooms.
no wifi in room
Environment, staff and breakfast
Location, nice staff
Rather far from train station and pricy for hostel
Super clean and nice facilities
Small things here and there but nothing important.
Comfort of beds, clean, quiet, safe!
I was told that I would receive my key deposit fee when I checked out by a younger staff member, another staff member denied this fact when I checked out. In 2015 there is only wifi in the lobby. You have to "make" your own bed by taking a sheet set from the lobby. Overall unpleasant experience but cheapest hostel I could find near the attractions.
Location and the cleaness
to noisy from people talking and walking down the corridor, especially with bed next to the door, also very bright light on so with every door opening it was right in your eyes so not very good for sleeping. wi-fi not working in a room
Nice, helpfull staff, breakfast included, free wi-fi, close to the Bock casemates
The pillow was really not comfortable and my neck was really tired...the shower was not good, and the doors always had big noise when people closed them. It could be better if each room has WIFI and each bed has a power socket.
Very good location, even though it's a bit far from the train station, but it is locate at the most beautiful part of the city. The staffs were very friendly, helpful, and also funny. Free breakfast is convenient for tourists, especially the whole city doesn't have many supermarkets and shops.
-difficult to find (i took another route which I didnt know was 2 "floors" downhill...) - no wifi in the room! - noisy - no plugs besides the bed to charge the mobile...
-clean -nice dinner with reasonable price -price and quality match
Lack of electric sockets in the room
Clean, good facility. Buffet breakfast was very delicious and nutritious.
No wifi in the rooms
Breakfast and staff
Good location and very good price to stay short period.
Limited power outlets. In our hostel room of six, there was only one working power outlet. This led to some power issues. Also, the WiFi only works in the common area downstairs, and the signal wasn't strong enough for me to make a phone call over WiFi.
Clean bathrooms, neatness, friendly people, modern facilities. Very pretty location in the heart of the old-town valley.
It is located in a valley so it was a hike to leave the building. But there were sign all around tell you how to get there so that was very helpful.
The place was great! The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the city and culture.
I like everything.
A lot of people inside a small room
Wi-Fi was not working in my room (it was the furthest room from the reception I think).
Very clean, comfortable in a great location. Staff was very helpfull. Breakfast included. I recommend eating also dinner there - big and tasty.
Wifi only sometimes reached rooms. More power plugs in better locations would have been good in rooms. A lift for only half the rooms. Map is misleading about its closeness but only because Luxembourg is deceptively hilly - not the hostel's fault.
Clean and modern. The cafeteria was good value. The staff friendly and the lockers were good.
I would have liked instructions on how to get there from station. Maybe they are on web-site but my visit was a bit rushed
I hadn't stayed in a youth hostel for some time but staff were very helpful.
