Avalon Hotel  

My staying in the hotel was very good. Good lockation: near to Old Riga and Railway station.

Friendly atmosphere, good lockation in the Old town, nice interiors

We (mature couple) stayed here in early July and were very pleased all- around with this hotel. We chose this hotel for its location at the edge of the Old Town and because it was convenient to a bus stop (#22 from the airport). Our room included an excellent breakfast buffet and they even included dinner as a bonus. The dinner included a soup or salad choice plus an entree choice(chicken, fish, pasta or meat-stuffed... Zucchini?)-- all quite good. The staff spoke English, were all very friendly, and helpful, as was everyone we encountered in Riga--friendly city. Out the back door and up a cobbled street and you're in charming Riga Old Town.

Only negative was that we were there when it was very hot and the air conditioning struggled to keep up. Our room was not sweltering, by any means, but it was a few degrees above perfect.

The position is good next to Riga centre, staff is helpful and the room was clean. There wasn't a double bed, but this seems to be lacking in whole Baltic region! The dinner offered in conjunction with the room is ok, but the choice is very limited and always the same dishes no matter how long you're staying. Parking in front of the hotel is useful.

The location is excellent. It is on the edge of old town, with the airport-bound bus bus-stop literally right outside the hotel. The central bus station and train station are no more than 5 minutes walk away. Our deal included dinner which is brilliant. Though choice is limited but you cannot complain when it's included for free.

The location is exellent!!!!! 5 minutes walk from the train station and the same time to find yourself in the Old Town!!!! Rooms quit comfortable with perfectly equiped lavatory: the shower!!!!! View from the window - Old Town!!!!! Highly recommend if you want to spend pleasant weekend.

Professionality of the staff, quality of the meals and the location of the hotel are excellent.

At first, hotel room was cold to me and I have tried to heat it by air conditioner, but it did not work. Since the weather is too cold, room temperatures may not be satisfactory for clients like me who is an inhabitant of Mediterennean.

Everything was fine, good service, clean rooms and facilities.

The bathroom was very small and very little place to have your hygienic stuff.

The hotel reception staff were friendly,reliable and the hotel manageress,Sandra,sorted out any problems straight away,she was brilliant,the food was the best in any of the european countries we have visited,the hotel room was one of the best to sleep in too,double and so comfortable,we have never seen staff so proud of the work they do,this is more so with the lady who constantly was cleaning the foyer,she worked endlessly,even though people were walking over the floor she had so carefully cleaned,this hotel is a must to try,in the summer it would be very popular so book early or you will regret it,we cant wait to get back there,home from home,thanks to all the wonderful staff,keep up the good work,James from Portsmouth,England and Elena from St Petersburg,Russia.

Location , friendly service that was multilingual ,convenient to old town and the airport, Included breakfast and dinner was great value and the restaurant service and food was Exceptional. I vegetarian and found that I did not go hungry!

I found that it was noisy on some nights after midnight. I understand that some parties can get boisterous but there must be a comprise especially as the common area is located in the centre of the building. Also the menu could include one more variation for those stayingore than 3 nights. Not sure of what proportion of your clients have longer stays but the meru could be a bit more varied. Otherwise it was excellent
