We came to Riga at 1pm, when we met with women in charge (Sandra) we were told that room won't be ready until 21:30. We asked for discount, so got 30 euro discount for that. Didn't get the room that I booked. I booked One-bedroom apartment, but got Studio apartment. Dishes were filthy, wasn't enough cutlery and cups for 3. bathroom had bad smell. Linen was dirty and smelly. Only one sink, in the bathroom. Sandra wasn't cooperative at all and very rude. 6th floor with no elevator. Filthy staircase. No electric kettle and microwave in a room (as written in ficilities). TV really blurry. Almost everything was bad about this "apartment". Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Free Wi-Fi, location
Grease dishes, fish smell, dirty
I dont like nothing there , all the apartment smell like a shate!!!
Apartment was located in 5th floor
Sandra was helpfull and friendly, answered to all our questions and gave recomendations what to do and see in Riga! We really enjoyed our stay in Barona apartments. THX
The apartment we stayed in was quite small and did not have a kitchen sink, but we could make do. Staff needs to be called on a phone to let people check in. 6 floors up without an elevator was ok for us but might be tough for others. Smelled a little musty; aged and rough around the edges.
Very good value for money, near city center. Grocery close by. Nice ambience in old Riga. Linens and towels provided.
Stairplace looks awfull and a little bit scary, had to pay additionally for late registration, even thought you live in city center, view from the window was on car parking, but as I imagine is not in all rooms.
Is good price/qulity choise, comfotrable kitchen, friendly owners.
The stairwell is old and doesn't look cozy especially during the night. Internet connection disappear from time to time. Check out time differs from the time announced in Booking.com. Overall, price doesn't worth the quality provided.
Great location next to Riga's old town and transport links. Very comfortable place to visit tourist objects. The apartment is new.
6 floors up, no lift. Damp on ceiling. Room in the UK would be called a "bed sit", basically kitchen unit and fridge next to the bed, definitely not a deluxe studio apartment. Noisy macerator attached to the toilet which runs even if kitchen tap used. insects in the bathroom. My fiancee was upset the first night we arrived, but we persevered and put up with it. Not recommended.
Location very good, a quick walk to park, train station, and old Riga. Wifi good.
- people called my mobile phone few days before arrival, to ask if i was going... - no place indication, or building number outside main entrance, or on building bells. - room was in 4th floor without lift. - only cash payment without receipt. - too expensive for all above
1. Dirty bed linen (the pillows smelled awful). 2. Dirty room. 3. Part of the furniture broken. 4. Clogged bathtube, fungus in the shower, the door handle of the shower cabin broken. 5. Couldn't use washing machine - no extension cable provided, 6. Clothes dryer broken. 7. No lift...brrr... go with your luggage up to 6th floor in a high-ceiling old building. Wanted to cancel paying extra night fine (as stated in conditions) but, alas, the landlady denied. Called Booking.com support - no help either (the guy said he would try to find Russian speaking for the landlady didn't speak much English. Well, seemed he didn't succeed). All in all: Worst experience ever.
1. Location only. 7mins to the Old Town. Kids really liked the park nearby.
Lack of kitchenware to cook.
Location and setting.
- the bed with linens were dirty with unpleasant odour - fungis in bathroom - we run away after one night not watching for return or coming back
It was noisy, the apartment was not cleaned well (toilet was dirty, crumbs on couch, stains on blanket). There were water stains on the ceiling and walls, and every time we ran water, there was a loud noise from the plumbing.
Good location, close to town and train station.
Stairs and hallways were filthy. A drunk tried to get in to our apartment on Saturday night, not sure if he was trying to break in or if he simply went to the wrong doorway. Either way he left when I shouted at him and we had no more trouble. I am sure this was a one off.
Location excellent. 5 minute walk to the Old Town. The numbers 6 and 11 tram stop was less than 50 metres from our front door. Despite being the centre of the city it was very quiet at night.
Very good place, location and staff.
