We had booked this place in last minute and had arrival at 23:00-24:00 because they should have 24:h reception. But when we arrived then no one was opening the door and let us in. We called the door bell and also on a phone number who's on the booking. But no one came or answered. I have also sent email to them to ask what went wrong. We didn't get a reply. Luckily we found an other place there we got in and also got great service.
Bathroom is dirty, no one clean anything. Television does not work. Room is too small. In the office you will not get anything about Riga.
Is not bad but not perfect. Very average hostel
Easy to find, close to the city center
Staff had some problems talking in english, wich is important if you work in a hostel. Our roommate had stinky shoes, but its unpredictable ;D street outside the hostel is quite noisy at 4am, so that was wierd
Clean bathrooms, free wifi
no kitchen (and even no dishes for guests!) strange sounds in toilets
not so bad location (15 minutes to old town on foot) big bed kind stuff
Everything was bad...
Free wi fi, very cosy bathrooms, helpful stuff
The sheets were too small for the bed. We weren't allowed to leave our bags there as they had no storage facilities. No kitchen or fridge. No common room. The whole place was quite small - reception area and the tiny rooms which also had no room to put our backpacks.
It was cheap and available.
I don't know how it is in other time of year but in may-september it's really impossible to get to sleep - it's very hot with a closed window and it's awfully noisy when you open it because it's very busy street and it's only second floor. So I felt as if my bed was in the middle of the street and on the second night I could't get to sleep for three hours. Hostel without a kitchen is somewhat strange because it's uncomfortable to eat outside at 7 or 8 a.m.
That I was alone in a room and I heard people only in one room beside mine so WC was always free. Location was good for me because I had to attend lectures nearby and Rimi shop was only one street away. Also I could leave my bag for two more hours there.
