Score from 789 reviews Excellent
In general this Hotel is not bad, really beautiful design and location, but the servise is poor , I think the reason is too young unprofessional staff. the internet connection and soundproffing are also bad.
Location suited my need for the tram, very important in bad weather in Riga. Staff friendly, night staff not particularly capable, but they took good notes so that the morning staff were able to have things sorted before breakfast.
very little noise insulation between rooms Desk to small, and power points rare in room, so not a good evening office.
personal, place, price, food ....everything was very good.
Location not far from main railway station. 6-9 mins walk. Near the old town too. Lovely period hotel with bags of charm and friendly staff. Superb breakfast.
This hotel is a lovely option for visiting Riga old town. A beautiful property, it has great style. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Clean, located nicely, great breakfast, parking for the car (which we never moved once we arrived and settled in for 3 days). What more can one ask for?
A minor problem, but we had to enter the password every time we used wifi. Again...a very minor problem for all this hotel offers to travelers.
Fine old public rooms on the second floor with magnificent high ceilings. The hotel is a converted palatial private residence built in the 19th century.
Poorly maintained building. Our standard bedroom on the top floor was like a garret cramped with tiny windows. The lobby is very modest with few services. The hotel Casino leads off from it.
a good location breakfast Wi-Fi
The wing of the building where we stayed was like a later addition to the main body of the house, and it was less charming than the rest of the building. Anyway, the room was excellent.
Nice hotel, fiendly staff, good location,...staff
Some of the best hotel staff that it has ever been my privilege to have met. My friend was taken ill and the level of understanding and support was incredible. I do not know how to explain just how we were looked after and the assistance freely given.
Not a thing.
A good location just outside the old town. Staff are very friendly.
Rooms on the top floor have very small windows
Bathroom was bright and cheerful. Breakfasts had a wide variety of delicious offerings. Young woman at front desk was delightful.
My room seemed to be in an annex for second-class guests. Bedroom was somber overall. No desk lamp, no reading lamp, no comfortable chair.
The outdoor terrace. Bed was comfortable. Air-con very good.
Towels poor quality, no tissues, safe did not work, view onto ?? Was just plain ugly & poor design, work out how to get out there & clean it! Then stick some plants in tubs out there. Now just cigarette butts and paper flying around. The door to Kr Barona street too heavy, so entry via parking lot. Not very chic for hotel that thinks it's elegant.
The hotel has a great history and you may feel it. The location is very convenient for the city sightseeing. There is a parking on the territory of the hotel.
The place for breakfast is rather limited that is why it is overcrowded here.
I've never been in a hotel as beautiful as this - it has been a private palace and surely looks like it. History has been made here! Great breakfast beautifully laid in the dining room and very nice staff. Make sure to reserve a parking place, they are limited. Absolutely wonderful!
There was a pool of water on the floor of the bathroom and we had to put a towel there to dry it. However, no leaks around. Air conditioning not very effective, but it was very hot outside and installing AC to a historic house is not a piece of cake.
Good Location. Superb breakfast. Elegant surroundings. Comfortable room and furnishings. Staff very good, especially Davide!
Travelling by car, it was great to have a parking on the premises (garden). If there is no space on arrival, you just enter the gate and park and they will take care of keys until a spot free. Nicely appointed and comfortable rooms. Big mansion very well restored and turned into hotel. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Great location to start walking itineraries of the Old Town, the Art Nouveau district and garden strolls. Close to the railway station too.
A very nice hotel to stay at. We had no problems. The car parking and wifi were especially helpful.
Breakfast included local delicacies displayed in a dedicated table.
You know - there are some rooms without windows. Actually there are some holes 30x30 cm and they call them "windows".
Very large room & good location.
Got upgraded to a Suite on the 2nd floor - super high ceilings, very very spacious. So spacious that couldn't see the TV from the bad (but this is one of those first world problems). Staff were extremely helpful. We had a reservation for another night a couple days later, but our plans changed. They were happy to cancel the booking without asking us a cent. Room service quick and very cheap. Location very convenient. Minutes walk to the Old Town. Room very quiet (was facing the backyard). Definitely returning!
not a thing
Hotel staff is very friendly, excellent breakfast, well working WiFi. Good location, just on the edge of the old town.
Parking usually is full. Sound isolation could be improved - if you have loud neighbours.
Location. Breakfasts are excellent.
There was a film crew, 25+ people, who occupied the communal spaces over 2 days and were asking you not to talk as you moved around the hotel. I complained to hotel management, but no response. There also was a huge delay in meal service. On one occasion it took over 1 hour 15 minutes for 3 appetisers to arrive. I wasn't in a huge rush as I was on holiday and looking to relax, but we were the only people eating. Would advise not eating at the hotel and was a huge contrast to breakfast which was of exceptional quality and choice.
