The Riga Hostel has affordable and comfortable accommodations in the heart of the historic quarter, the center of Riga’s cultural life, only a few steps from museums, restaurants, bars, and colorful...

Nice hostel. very clean. Helpful staff. Perfect place to stay for cheap money.
Location could be better.
Value for money is excellent.
Had to wait for more than an hour for the receptionist to check in. (It was 10 P.M.) The system of wc / shower / lavatory is just plain stupid. I rather brushed my teeth in the kitchen to avoid waiting for 20 minutes.
This place is the best to be! Very quiet, not so war from the city (5min with the troll 7) or 30min by foot. It's an old quarter with lot of old wood houses very nice! There is a big super market at 5min walk or you can reach the center to go to the big local market! The person in a reception are very nice (even if you awake up them early in morning!) This hostel is very clean and comfortable for a very good price!
Nice hostel, located at quiet place. It is not close to dowtown, but you can have a nice rest if you are looking for it.
There is no so much spaces to share a food, to talk with other people hosted at hostel
Fair location, 3 minutes access to tram station which then is 7 min ride to old town, reasonably frequent tram service. Slight noise from trams passing by front door.
Main shower is mouldy with a terrible smell, ventilation fan does not seem to work, there are moulds on the wall. Management: it really does need fixing, sooner or later someone is going to get chest infection from the mouldy air The dorm arrangement is more like ‘7 bed, divided double dorm’. The 4 bed dorm has another 3 bed dorm in a walk thru arrangement, so either the 4-dorm guest gets disturbed or the 3-dorm guest can’t walk in and out as freely without having to turn on the light and thus disturb others. (See review by ‘Susan, Sweden, Jun 26, 2013) The upstairs ‘kitchen’ is merely a sink and microwave. Downstairs ‘main’ kitchenette is tiny, more cramped than the advert pictures presented (mostly professionally shot giving better impression than actually is. (There is no light in the kitchen, unlike pictured). [to be fair the listing does not say the hostel has kitchen, which is true as it’s not a real kitchen] Management: if you really do want to provide cooking equipment make an effort to get more plates, knives and forks please? Stupid corridor light with 5 second timer – there is not even enough to walk half the stairs before the lights go out… IS IT worth saving that little electricity? The fluorescents soon get broken with this constant flipping costing more in the end. Again internet connection is basically useless: signal does not reach far end dorm, even when WIFI is connected there is still no actual internet connectivity, even when connected speed is very low and unreliable. Guest end up having to use their own 3G internet. Management: what’s the point of putting a range extender 3 meter away from the one being extended? Three meters!
Beds were ok
Staff is doing bare minimum to help in a bare minimum English Rather than a common area, sinks, kettles etc are set up in the rooms, making it for a very unpleasant experience not conductive to sleeping. Everyone local we met and found out where we lived warned us of the area at night.
Very Quiet. And there is a big park near here.
The hostel is really far from the center of this city. It is even far from bus terminal. And When I checked out, there was no one. It was about 9 a. m. There are two kitchens but both are too small to cook something.
- professional staff - everything clean - enough space - good and modern equipment - lockers available - overall good feeling
- hostel is not at a walking distance from the center, but I don't take it as a minus, since this is just how it is
Cleanless, 10 min. to center by tram, wi-fi,
It's a couple of tram stops away (60 cents to get to the city centre) but in a really nice area - very pretty wooden houses and a park and walking distance to the Lido - the best place for food in Riga. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Place is small but cute.
Location. bit far from resto, bar, sights
