The location of the hotel was excellent. The staff was enormously forthcoming and helpfull. The toiletries were extremely skimpy. Instead of small bottles for the shampoo and body wash, the hotel only supplied thin little envelops that barely contained enough liquid to get started, falling well short of the standards for a 4-star hotel.

Best avoid. The hotel is next to a night club. Until 6:00 AM we lay awake listening to the constant thud thud of the music next door. What good are nice, spacious rooms and above average beds if you simply can't sleep because of the noise? The hotel knows is has a problem with its neigbour, but still it puts its customers in the rooms adjacent to this night club. After we complained, staff were friendly enough to put us in a quiet room on the fitfth floor, under the roof. This room was ok, but was more like three stars than four. This hotel should sort out its noise problems with its neighbour. It might also invest in drapes to keep out the early daylight in spring and summer.

Location was perfect!!! Also some rooms (E.g 416) were heaven-like - spacious, stylish furniture, etc. My single room (417) was very small compared to the nearby room, but quite ok for one person. And it has a nice bonus - a cozy balcony with a table & chairs. Breakfast was excellent! Never ever seen a caprese salad for hotel breakfast before in my life!!! This one also included shrimp/avocado mix! And tasted very good too :) The nearby Tea garden serves water pipes, not good - don't order. Instead go to Sapni un Kokteili in the city center - that one was a blast! Other than that - everything was good.

Really good breakfast and position The noise. We were on the second floor and the noise from the bar downstairs I.E. the bass and the music was too loud to get to sleep, plus any heavy steps on the floor above made huge noise in our room. I don't normally complain but the next day I asked to move and they said they were sold out and couldn't move us even for someone else who hadn't checked in. They did say they would talk to security about it it. To be fair the next night the noise was fine though, excluding the heavy steps above, so can't complain on that regard.

Tthe hotel was a very positive surprise. While the room was small (I booked a single room), it was very clean and of a high standard. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had an excellent shower stall. The breakfast buffet was of a good quality with a decent selection and the hotel in general emmitted quality. There wasn't a wide enough selection of bread and the bed was two singles pushed together, rather than a double.

We liked everything about the Hotel Garden Palace. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, and the location- right in the centre of the Old Town- can't be beat. It's a very fine hotel in a really nice city, and we hope to return to the hotel and the city again.

We stayed in 50 m2 suite that was a bit rustic and oldfashioned but still confortable and nice. Goos value for the money! The quality of the breakfast was good but not excellent. We had two lunches in the hotel restaurant that were of higher quality than the breakfast. Good location and serviceminded and friendly staff.

The staff, the location, price, breakfast, and the hotel itself were all wonderful! The staff, even the housekeepers had smiles on their faces. The front desk staff were very helpful with providing information - they sent me an email before I even had arrived to give me info on how and where to catch the city bus from the airport to the hotel. The #22 bus stop is very close to the hotel. The hotel is beautiful! The room itself had character and it was very clean and comfortable. Lots to choose from at the breakfast buffet! We enjoyed drinks in the bar on our first night - very friendly bartender and the drinks were very reasonable. They offered us a free dessert if we had had dinner at their restaurant, but unfortunately, we didn't get the opportunity to eat there. Highly recommend staying at the Garden Palace and would love to go back to Riga again - amazing city!! Love all the Art Nouveau!! Some of the warming dishes at the breakfast buffet didn't keep some of the food hot, so the crepes and eggs were on the cool side.

The location, decor, ambience, food, bar were all excellent. It was in an ideal position to explore the old city he single beds were rather narrow and the room was long and thin.

Everything was straightforward and hassle-free. Staff were helpful and had good English. Breakfast was very good. Half-price welcome drink was a nice gesture. The decor is rather dark and sombre, not much light. The single room rate was rather expensive.

I had an early check in. The hotel is right at the heart of old downtown Riga which location is perfect. Service is good i like the room. Anna the staff is nice even gladly printed my flight booking for free. Never knew that the bus tour i booked is also right infront of the hotel or a few walk away. Soundproofing at least. But the in general it was ok.

They gave us the perfect room for a family of 4... a suite with two separate rooms containing 4 beds. That's not easy to come by when traveling in Europe! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was very impressive. Our whole family was pleased with this hotel. In all, it was a very nice place to stay. The decor was a bit tired looking in our room and our bathroom was teeny tiny, but that is to be expected when traveling in these parts.
