The hotel is not far from the center. There are supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance. The price was super cheap and, overall, the cost vs. quality rate is fairly high.
The room has a small fridge which, considering the hotel does not offer breakfast, may be useful to keep refrigerated breakfast items such as milk, yogurt, and so on.

Riga is a very attractive city with a picturesque Old Town and a newer area which includes many beautiful Art Nouveau buildings. There are many nice parks and green spaces. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants and prices are reasonable. As well as Latvian and Russian, English is widely spoken. Public transport - buses and trams - is very efficient and inexpensive. Walking around is easy though many areas in the Old Town are cobbled and might prove difficult for some. One hazard is people travelling around very fast on e-scooters that are almost silent and can rush up behind you without warning.

Riga is a very photogenic city.
Riga is a very photogenic city. The buildings are gorgeous and there are some great surprises when you explore on your on. I never take an organized tour.
Plenty of restaurants.
I cooked in most of my meals.
But the food in the city is very good.
Walk the Riga Canal! Always beautiful no matter what time of year.
I personally like "Lido" which is near the beautiful Orthodox church.
It has been a favorite since my first visit to Riga.

Loved walking around the old town, the 'quiet centre',...
Loved walking around the old town, the 'quiet centre', central market. We didn't plan our visits very well because all museums are closed on Monday so we didn't get to see as many as we had hoped.
We took the train out to Jurmala (beach) which was lovely but we were blessed with great weather.
Learn to say 'hello' and 'thank you' in Latvia. It goes a long way.
Latvians are very polite and we found Riga to be extremely clean.
Oh, great coffee too!
Excellent location, very close to the bus and train station, and also - literally a few steps to the old town. Breakfast was just delicious, great selection, lovely area, very bright. Staff very helpful and professional. Very smooth check-in and check out. There is also a direct connection to the Airport, by bus - and I paid just around €1 for a bus! Bus stop is actually nearly at the door step of the hotel. You can easily walk around and you will be able to reach most of the Riga tourist attractions within up to 20 minutes walking.
This old style, atmospheric boutique hotel is located right at the heart of Rīga's embassy district, with many good restaurants around. Old Town is within walking distance. The price of the stay was really bargain. Very helpful, experienced owner/administrator, who is willing to assist you as much as she can. She even borrowed me her own umbrella, as I was totally unprepared for some heavy rain during my time in the Latvian capital. Very recomended.
Perfect location for old town (which is where you want to be in Riga). 95% of anything you're likely to want to visit in Riga is within walking distance. Very clean hotel. Quirky, shabby chic style inside - looks better than the photos online. Family room had a good-sized double/twin and separate good sized single bed. Buffet breakfast perfectly good for a short break. Easy to get to from airport by taxi or local bus (#22).
Excellent hotel. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was tasty and a good variety. Location is walking distance to everything in old town.. What makes this hotel stand out is the staff and service though, they go above and beyond to make guests happy. Special thanks to Linda who drove me to the bus station because it was raining and I could not find a taxi! Will be back. Thank you :)
The staff was amazing and helpful, the room very elegant and cozy, the bathroom - luxurious. Breakfast was very good and served with style. the location is very convenient - between Old Town and center. Apart from other hotels with pools in Riga, this place was more open and reasonable requiring only negative COVID test result to attend the SPA and pool. Children were welcome as well.
Wow! just wow! Location-wise, it is located near the edge of the Old Town Riga, making it super accessible to regular taxis/vans, yet only a minute walk from the St Peter Basilica! Restaurants and cafes are only a short walk away. The staff is awesome, especially Ms Alita who is very accomodating and always smiling. The breakfast in the hotel is top-notch!
In the heart of Latvija... in the heart of Riga :)
What a wounderfull city as well as Tallinn...
This Hotel, located in the city center of Riga had it all also.
A spacious room with all equipement needed, a nice view over the old town.
A delicious breakfast and the staff were friendly. Thank you, we will certainly come back again...
My second stay here. It’s very well located hotel for exploring Riga. We were upgraded to a 14 floor room with view of the old town which was spectacular. Room was clean, comfortable and a baby crib was provided for free. Parking was very easy and discounted as a guest of the hotel. The breakfast was also really good.
The location of The Grand Palace Hotel is superb for exploring Riga Old Town with so many top sights and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Connection to the airport is easy by local bus No 22 or if one prefers the hotel can arrange for private transfer.
Hestia Hotel Draugi was perfect for our short stay in Riga. The breakfast was really good and so was our room. Small but perfect for our needs. It's in the old town, thus within walking distance from every main attraction. We would definitely recommend it!
Beautiful hotel in historical building, in the hearth of old town of Riga. Very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, fantastic restaurant and the kindest and the most wonderful staff! Especial thanks to Hasan and Doni! Live music on some evenings.
This hotel is a great choice for people who need a parking space for their car or bus. Also, breakfast is great and well organized, and location is good: a shopping center nearby and the old town across the river.
Value for money! Well placed hotel for old town and Riga in general. Staff helpful and spa area very good. Decoration in hotel slightly dated and tired but facilities generally good and breakfast was good.
The location is one of the best in Riga Old Town, and it’s near from almost everything on a walking distance. Rooms are quiet and heated, as well with the capsule bed that provides a lot of privacy.
Wonderful hotel. Modern, spacious and very clean room. Great breakfast selection. The hotel staff are very attentive and helpful. Easy access to the Riga old town via bus or by car.
The hotel is located in a great area, and it is a short walk to Old Town Riga. The hotel staff was very accomodating and friendly, and we look forward to the next time we visit Riga.
