Excellent location, a little away from the intense tourist scene in the Old Town, but a very easy and pleasant walk. Very close to the central market, a good place to pick up fresh fruit. Nice lobby and very pleasant outdoor cafe. Great breakfast with a variety of choices, well beyond the traditional cold cuts and cheese selections. Loved our stay here!

The hanza hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the old town. It is in a quiet location and the rooms are spotless and cleaned everyday. The staff are very friendly and speak good english. There is a buffet breakfast included with a wide menu of meats, cheese, eggs, bacon, sausage. We went in the coldest month where temperatures dropp ed as low as -26 but the rooms are fully central heated and at times we had to open the windows. Overall I highly recommend the hotel and when I return to Latvia I will be returning to the Hanza hotel

If you plan to stay 1-2 nights, then this place shoudl be your first option. Valuable place with only 5-7 minutes to the Central Railway and Bus stations; Very friendly staff and delicious Hanza Pub on the ground floor. And potato pancakes at breakfast are really good. This hotel exceeded my expectations.

Good location, free parking and internet, clean room, big bathroom with bath, good breakfast, small but nice pub in the hotel. No view from backside windows at all, too narrow double bed (max 1.40 m) and very small double room.

We were very impressed with your hotel. What impressed us most was your restaurant, very good dinners, compliments to the chef. Staff were helpful and location was good for old town and markets. We will come back to your hotel on our next visit to Riga. Many thanks Therese and Paul Crossan

The staff at reception were just wonderful! Very friendly , helpful , prtfect english and always smiling. Due to a very early arriving flight I went to the hotel already at 8.30am. I wanted to ask wether I could leave my luggage there until it was time for checkin which is normally 2pm. The receptionist told me that they had a room already available and that it would not be a problem at all to check in that early. The room was very cosy, very clean , nice bathroom with excellent shower. Overall the best hotel I have stayed so far in Riga. If you dont mind not staying in the midst of Old Town its the perfect place for your stay in Riga. That I cannot go to Riga more often to stay at this excellent hotel.

The hotel was clean, very well priced and all staff were exremely helpful. They took time to assist and offered valuable advice regarding the city especially areas to avoid after dark (this is the same in any city and we did not encounter any problems at all) If you want to be right in the centre then other hotels are available, however the quality and cost of this hotel more than outway its distance from the main old city, and its only about a 15 minute walk No complaints at all

Very pleasant stay. Location and rate make a perfect mix. Perhaps a little too small room for breakfast when hotel is sold out.

Free WiFi Distance from city centre is not walking distance. Taxi company used by Hotel is a rip off: charged twice the rate of BalticTaxi. Breakfast poor.

The staff were courteous and helpful.Food was good.It was in a good location, within walking distance of the city buses and trains and places of interest. It would have been nice if there were a lounge other than the bar/pub. All in all we had an enjoyable stay. The shower fitting was faulty. Also the liquid soap was rather drying. Maybe moisteriser would have been a good idea.

Good location, perfect breakfast, friendly staff, quiet neighborhood yet very close to city center. Extremely small dining room, sometimes it's very crowded and one needs to wait for seat. Blocked drain in shower was a second bit of disadvantage.

Certainly, the best to mention about this hotel is its friendly and dilidgent staff! A former living apartment building, rebuilt into hotel they said some four years ago. Quite clean 2-star place, where sound insulation does not perform in rooms very well. Certainly not the best location compared to other hotels in town. Shortest way to old town lies thru quite a messy market place. That's the only copmarison judgement I can make now after my first visit to Riga :) With the above mentioned provisions - can recommend.

Really friendly and helpful staff on reception. Very comfortable, warm room with brand-new bathroom, exceptionally clean throughout. Comfortable bed -slept like a baby. Loved the original antique style of the breakfast room in the basement, and the breakfast itself was fantastic, such a wide range of lovely food. First class all round, would definitely stay here again!
