Hotel information

This hotel is situated in an area of Riga now full of novelty, vigour and above all variety, although most of the buildings date from the early 20th century.

Here, you can open your windows onto the view over the early 19th century Church of Jesus, the tallest wooden building in Latvia. Almost as close is the Academy of Science, a mark of the Soviet period, with its recently-opened tower now offering the best viewpoint over Riga. Business guests will appreciate the easy access to many of their contacts as we are close to the bridges over the Daugava River. Our size allows us to welcome both individuals and groups.

Wi-Fi internet access is as standard throughout the building, some rooms have baths and some have showers, but all bathrooms have under-floor heating. Thick wooden shutters, rather than curtains, ensure that bright light is excluded from the bedrooms during the summer.

Food & beverage

Riga was an important member of the Hanseatic League, which ran the trading links across the Baltic Sea for several centuries. In Mercatore and Hanza Pub, we offer delicious food and drinks from all of Riga’s former partners along the coast.

The ground floor Hanza Pub, which accommodates 45 people, is good for a business lunch or coffee at the bar during daytime. The informal pub atmosphere in the evening will help you to relax and enjoy your meal after a long working day or an exhausting city tour. It also has an entrance from the street.

The interior of the first floor Mercatore restaurant with 40 seats is an ideal environment for a private party, or for a family celebration. It can also be used by seminar participants for coffee breaks and lunches.

Fresh fruit, vegetables and green salads are all purchased from the nearby Central Market, ensuring that healthy food is served throughout the day from breakfast until night.

Yes, it could of had tea/coffe in room.More pillows,and there was a bad smell out side our room and at lefts in lobby!

Helpful staff, good breakfast

Receptionist told us the bobsleigh in Sugulda was open every day, but when we took the 1.5 hr journey there on Monday they told us it was only open Sat and Sun!!!!!!

This booking was for 14 people and all our requirements and requests were covered by the letter. The hotel staff could not help us enough, Minibus's waiting for us on arrival at the airport. Room service available throughout the night at very reasonable prices. Very comfortable stay and excellent value for money.

No tea or coffee making facility in the rooms.

The rooms are very nice decorated (minimalistic style) and comfortable.Free wi-fi is a great advantage also. Breakfast was nice and with good choice. Free parking is possible in front of the hotel.

Location is not the best if you want to walk to the center. It is better to take a taxi or go by car.

Enjoyed the hotel facilities, free internet access was good, service always great, very helpful staff who spoke good English and tried their best to make our stay enjoyable and hassle free. The price of the Hotel is good for the facilities,

I think you need shower curtains for your shower areas otherwise the floor gets very wet. Maybe need more waitresses in the peak times in the hanza pub / restaurant as we waited to get served for 10 - 15 minutes at times and also 40 minutes for a drink to arrive after it was ordered. Breakfast was well organised and very nice.
