Hotel Helga is perfect for a stay/ short trip to the beautiful city center of the Riga old town. Location is a little bit outside the city center, approx. 10 walking minutes distance to the old town, in a quiet area. Close by are: the destrict of international embassies, the very nice "Jugendstil-architecture" destrict, two big shopping centers with cinemas, Rigas train central station, small Bazar area (directly cross side the hotel), Opera House in the city park, the big central market (5 Zeppelin Hangars), etc., etc.. Lot's of things to do and see.... Recommendable is a multi-storey House, with a beautiful Skybar and amazing view from the top; there are some close by. Nice pictures of Rigas city-silhouette and sun sets. Recommendable therefore: the Hotel Albert's or "Galeria"-shopping center.

Hotel Helga is a small, simple and clean hotel close to the city center. Price compared to the given service is absolutely okay - it is not a five-star-house, so you should not have too oversized expectations, but for a quiet, cheap and relaxed stay, some days in this beautiful city, it is recommendable.

Hotel is in the center of Riga. You can get to the railway station and bus station by foot within 10 minutes. There is "Lido" near the hotel.

There's no hairdryer in the room.

perfect location

This is a hotel out of the Soviet era with smell and ghastly nylon coverlets to complete the effect. It didnt feel clean, the leopardskin furry material on the bed attachment could not be detached and therefore could not be clean. In a large aprtment type area, there was not a single glass for a glass of water. The towels had to be hunted for and I would have given the 5€ breakfast a miss, it is quite easy to busy a cofee and crossiant and bananna in Riga and much more cheaply. The lady was perfectly nice but there was internet access but the code was not supplied meaning I missed a meeting. Why internet works (on a Blackberry) in the whole of the rest of Europe including Russia but not in Latvia I cant imagine but the addition of a lack of internet within the hotel made the situation worse. I just have the idea they sit inside this "hotel" and think this is in any way normal. I would have been better going to a hostel.

The staf was very friendly.

Double room consists of two big rooms and shower. equiped with TV, refrigerator, microwave, Wi-Fi, dishes, big dinner table.

We liked everything! The atmosphere, the location of the hotel, hospitality of the hostess, a large comfortable room. We return once again.

Мы останавливались в отеле на 4 дня, компанией 7 человек. Хозяйка отеля предоставила нам люкс из двух комнат без доплаты со словами: "вам же надо где-то тусоваться вместе")) В люксе у нас была своя кухня с чайником, микроволновкой, холодильником, стиральной машинкой. В ванне был фен. В других номерах была сборная солянка - у кого-то телевизор, у кого-то микроволновка. Очень понравилось дружелюбное отношение со стороны персонала, близость отеля к вокзалу (5 минут), к старому городу (5 минут), к ресторанам быстрого питания Лидо, где можно хорошо и недорого поесть. По соотношению цена/качество это идеальный вариант, особенно для большой компании.

Отель находится в старом здании - видимо, поэтому внутри постоянно холодно. Хотя нам давали обогреватели и ночью иногда включали отопление. Но все-таки не советую там останавливаться семьям с детьми. Тем, для кого имеет значение вид из окна, также не советую, потому что окна выходят во внутридворовый колодец.

плохая шумоизоляция,запах в номере,окно выходило во двор,в которм всю ночь гудела трансформаторная будка,телевизор не работал.2 раза сообщила об этом персоналу-ноль реакции.исключительно бюджетный вариант на одну ночь

Из плюсов этого отеля только его местоположение и приемлимая цена. Но, иногда лучше переплатить, чем жить в таких условиях.

По приезду мне сообщили, что моё бронирование потерялось и меня не ждут. Но, был свободен номер люкс куда меня и разместили, причем, хозяйка постоянно попрекала меня, что заказав номер за 25 Евро я буду жить в номере за 65 Евро. Люкс представляет из себя огромную очень холодную комнату, wifi ловит только в одной точке номера и очень слабо, горячую воду нужно ждать 2 часа, чтобы она нагрелась, хозяйка прокоментировала этот факт тем, что " на улице не лето откуда же взяться горячей воде?" . Это не отель 4* это даже не 3* звезды, это обычный хостел.....Пригоден только, чтобы переночевать.
