Villa Joma is a small, completely renovated wooden building from the beginning of the 20th century in the very heart of Jurmala, only a 2 minute walk from the beach.
Score from 135 reviews Wonderful
Stayed for one night, it is a very conveniant place to get back from the old town on foot
Beautiful old building.
Smell in the corridor.
Good location, very friendly and helpful staff. Shared kitchen with a kettle, fridge, free tea and coffee.
Not very comfortable shower room.
just the price...
The building where the Hostel is located is old, dirty and unsafe. The room's floor (therefore the bed) vibrates with the traffic outside, even though the hostel is in the upper floor. Just awful...
If Latberry served breakfasts and was located in a more convenient spot, it would be flawless :)
Located on the top floor of an old dilapidated tenement
Simple and clean hostel, friendly and helpful host, quite central location.
Building is old and especially staircase is dirty and shabby; on friday night there were strange people (not guests of the hostel) hangig out in the staircase on the 6th floor right next to the door of the hostel. They smoked, drank, were very unfriendly and made us feel rather insecure.
The room was neat and tidy. The hostel presents really good, although the tenement and its surrounding is not too pleasant. The staff was really kind and they let us check in much earlier than it is planned (six hours earlier). What is more, a small sweet gift was left in the room, what was really nice.
The tenement looks delapidated and the surrounding seems to be not very friendly.
The hotel is good, the host is very pleasant person. Good price.
Comfortable beds, small quiet place
Nobody was present during checkout so we had to leave a note, which we hoped was sufficient.
- Hearing the floor shaking whenever a bus passes in the street is quite strange, but you get used after a while. - The stairs for reach the last floor (where the hostel is) are squalid (they smell of pee) and really old.
It's an old tenement flat, so the room was spacious. You can feel what's it like living in this kind of accommodation. All you need is provided, including a washing machine. Don't be put off by the look of the staircase, the hostel itself is nice.
It was quite difficult to find the entrance.
value of money and nice guys! beautiful pink room!
5th floor without elevator but we dont have lots of luggage so acceptable!
The hostel is in a good, central location and is well-priced for what you get. The room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed. Facilities, such as kitchen, shower and bathroom, were also clean. The internet worked fine, towels were provided and coffee and tea were available at all times. The staff (one person) was nice, the bed was comfortable and overall we had a good experience with this hostel.
The room was a bit cold at night and smelled like fresh paint. It was also quaking very often (though not at night) due to trolleybus wires being hooked to the building.
Noisy outside. In the room cold
simple facilities but still quite comfortable to stay
there was no place for me to wash up my face or brush my teeth
Good one for that price. Location is nice, funny old building and comfortable beds
