Hotel information

In the 19th century, Hotel Riga was originally the impressive Hotel de Rome, built in 1878. During the war, the elegant building was destroyed and in 1956, a completely new, grand, 6-floor hotel building was constructed. It was named after the capital of Riga and aimed to be a symbol of hospitality for the city.

From business meetings to grand celebrations, from seminars to warm family jubilees, the range of conference and banqueting rooms combine with long-standing service to create a memorable event. The hotel offers 4 conference rooms for 30 to 250 people and 3 banqueting halls for 120 to 300 people. Full service and technical equipment is provided.

Catering requests will be fulfilled by the Palm Garden restaurant.

Food & beverage

Our fine-dining signature restaurant Palm Garden serves exquisite European Cuisine, together with a selection of wines and delicious desserts, as well as a rich breakfast buffet each morning. Open daily: 11:00 - 23:00. Wheelchair accessible.

Palm Terrace is an ideal place to meet in a nice weather for a drink with your friends or business partners and enjoy fresh salad accompanied with wine, beer and other beverages. Open during summer from 07:00 - 23:00.

The Lobby Bar is the perfect place to enjoy Riga's elegant atmosphere tasting cocktails, coffee and snacks. Open daily from 10:00 - 02:00. Wheelchair accessible.

Room information

All rooms have a modern interior, light elegance and comfortable amenities, accompanied by an excellent view of the old town or opera garden.

Several important updates have been implemented since late November 2006, with improvements made to hot water, water pressure, heating and cable TV. Good service has been reported in all facilities.

We stayed in the standart double and the room / bathroom decor was more of the 2 star hotel.

I liked hotel about atmosphere. Old fiiling and good location in the old town. We were in the hotel also last year..

The Hotel Riga is very central at OldTown. The money-for-value is excellent. The double room was spacious (35m2). The hotel staff was very friendly. Information available at the hotel about Riga and its city highlights are excellent. Breakfast was absolutely ok (well, but not exciting).

Rooms, wallpaper and electrification still somewhat socialistic.... Windows at night should be kept closed due to traffic noise. Room warm in summer (18.-21.August 2008)

Location was excellent.

We were a party of 9 persons--but there were not enough dishes, glasses, silverware & other supplies necessary for 9 persons. I think this was a major oversight by you & one which greatly affected our ability to have a pleasant stay. Also, the building itself was very run-down & there was the odour of urine in the entranceway to the building.

Nothing. It was run down and the room was not as advertised.

The room was lacking in both heating and cooling. They provided a bar of handsoap but nothing else. The TV was broken. The hardwood floor was broken. The staff was surly.

The location is supreme and good also a good rate.

The hotel as such is worned out. Needs an extensive internal overhaul. No air conditioning and Riga is hot in July, quite poor breakfast as well..
