Hotel Riga is in a 19th-century building located in the center of Riga's historic district. The Freedom Monument is just 650 ft, while Riga Train and Bus Station is just a 5-minute walk away. All rooms at Riga are simply furnished, bright and come with natural parquet floors. Each has a minibar, satellite TV, wired internet and a small sitting area. All have a bathroom with a bathtub. Location and price. Dirty bathroom. the bath plug hole was blocked with hair. The bed was lumpy and genearlly the hotel was tired and faded. i do not feel it deswervd a 4* rating.

First I was given an unmade, dirty smoking room (required non-smoking). WiFi weak, down for several hours. Worn-out, massive hotel. Staff member explained wet floor in the evevator: "This hotel is full of (drinking) alcoholistics". In fact, he described the hotel quite well. Not suitable for people who appreciate cleanliness and fresh air. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel for the exceptionally many disappointments, including hotel manager's response to my reclamation.

Good position I asked for one double room, they gave me one twin room with beds put closer; wc was not clean; wardrobe door was damaged and dangerous to open; old tv with noisy sound and remote control not working; hotel doesn't match 4 star level!

I already stayed at this hotel once before about 8 years ago and as I remembered that should expect a big old building which preserved the residues of the Soviet spirit, this time my impressions weren’t disappointing. - The room was spacious enough (I had single) with lots of spacious for storage of personal stuff; - The price – reasonable (points for free stay of children under 12); - Great location. - Long queues for coffee. There are only two slowly working coffee machines. Hot water, needed for making a cup of tea or just warming up juice, can also be obtained only from these machines. By the way, while I was waiting for a coffee, my meals were taken away from the table. - My window was in front of the windows of the opposite side of the hotel and has only heavy night curtains and nothing suitable for covering it at a day time.

Location was great, hotel staff was good wouldn't say extrodinary, and it was a good price... My wifi internet was not working and asked for a credit but didn't do anything for me, the pool was free from 8am to 10am and fairly expensive after that, room was small.

It's right in the centre of the old town. Everybody spoke english seating around the hotel bar (which was very reasonably priced) was plush and relaxing Breakfast buffet included raw fish, steamed vegies, olives, cold mushrooms and cottage cheese. May it's Latvian but it was a little unusual. There is a free Sauna that can be used 8-10am (everyone's favorite sauna time!) but it's a e100 fine for putting water on the rocks and without it the sauna doesnt get hot enough.

All staff were very pleasant, helpful and courteous, and nothing seemed too much to ensure that we enjoyed our stay, the rooms were quite spacious, clean, tidy and comfortable from daily visits to clean tidy etc., Breakfast could have been improved, but maybe this was our fault for wanting british style breakfasts

The best is the location of the hotel (Next to the old city). On the internet it looks à very promising hotel. But in real not! That have really old rooms with à poor bathroom. For Facilities like sauna and swimming you have to pay extra. I uses hotel valdemars clarion what is 10 times better.

Location near the central street and Opera theater. Staff on reception was not very kind when we asked to change room. First one they gave to us was awful smell (cigarette). One lamp in the hall of our room was broken and it was really dark in there. It was cold, heating didn't work.

Close to the Opera house. Close to old Riga and shopping at the Gallery. The decor, services, comfort,and facilities of this 4 star hotel, in our opinion, after staying at a few hotels in Riga, a modern, up and coming City, have not yet entered the 21st century. This is a shame considering its fantastic location.
