The room size is definitely bigger than in other hotels. Plenty of choices for breakfast (after travelling through Italy and Italian breakfast it was such a joy to see savoury options 😄). There is a lovely market not too far away, a park just outside the hotel. Great value for the money.

Great location - just 10 minutes from the central bus station, also very close to the old town and various attractions. The room is quite spacious, the bed is comfortable, there was also a wardrobe and a table, which made it more comfortable to settle in (I spent five nights here). The check-in and check-out procedure is easy, the staff is helpful and speaks excellent English. There are a lot of restaurants and shops nearby.

    I wanted to visit a place where the summer is not hot, and Riga was an excellent choice. We walked a lot, visited a lot of museums, and really enjoyed it. It's worth buying public transport ticket and visit the suburb, and of course Jurmala. We have a super guide of free tours programme (Hidden gems of Art Noveau) with lot of cool information about the city and its history. The old city is terrific, the market is awesome - my husband loved local beer and I kvas. Restaurants, bars, delicious food - absolutely worth visiting the city.

    Riga feels like a deserted ghost town apart from the ideal center, which is relatively populated and most of the buildings have been taken care of. If you are into urban exploration of forgotten places, this could be a great place, but if you are looking for a living and modern city, this is far from it.

    Riga is a wonderful destination!

    Riga is a wonderful destination! There are several outstanding and unusual museums to visit, including an open-air ethnographic museum set in the woods near a lake and reachable by bus from downtown Riga. There are brilliant examples of different architectural styles and periods, lots of shady parks and woods nearby, and some excellent restaurants and bars. It's more of an adult destination though; not much to entertain toddlers.

    Riga is a very nice city for a peaceful and calm long weekend. If you enjoy walking in the streets it has lots of beautiful buildings that you would like to hunt! they are beautiful. Canal gives another energy to the city. tour within the canal will give a very good idea about the city and the history and it is fun. try beers. they have tasty different kinds of brands. there are some special restaurants if you like Michelin standart food. we really enjoyed them. and of course pastry.. try different tastes. the choices are many.

    Alisa at the reception kindly offered us an upgrade free of charge. We enjoyed a very nice suite with two rooms and a balcony. The location is one of the best in Riga. It is in the city center and very close to the old town. The facilities of this hotel are very nice. Everything looks new and stylish. The neighborhood is very elegant. There are many nice restaurants and the National Art Museum in a few steps. Breakfast was nice. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable.

    The restaurant had magnificient food, the breakfast was ok. Wonderful staff. The room was big, we were three people and we had plenty of room. Quiet during the night. Might be a bit of a walk if you wish to go to the old town or to the center but hey there are trams operating in Riga. I highly recommend this hotel. All good. Paldies, Kolonna Hotel!
