Location, location, location. Very big room, excellent view from the window
A bit noisy street (some night bars), dated interior, breakfast was mediocre.
Excellent location! In the heart of the old city center near the Dome. Good price/quality rate.
Breakfast is a bit the same every day. Some variation would be welcome.
It was really valuable to us that the interests of the customer were taken into account. We were allowed to check in earlier, because we had the wedding to attend to and after the trip we could leave our bags for a while before the plane.
The location was great and the staff were ultra friendly. The hotel offered us everything we needed at a really good price.
Location in Riga old town Friendly staff Value for money
Central location Comfortable stay Amazing staff
The staff were all brilliant and so friendly, the room was clean and a really good size, the location was very close to the centre. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay!
The only negative was the breakfast was poor. It was however, included in the very reasonable price!
We paid Euro 48 per night for two joined rooms (so 24 per room). Staff were really friendly and helpful and although rooms were sparse (no carpet) we thought that they were still very good for the price. Would definitely recommend if you're after location/clean/functional/helpful.
Well I guess you wouldn't like this hotel if you are desparate for luxury. If you are, you probablye need to pay more
Location is excellent. Prices are affordable (tourist class is cheap but has a WC/Shower outside the room). Wifi became free
Breakfast is really tiny, some hostels got better breakfast!!! Not so many channels on TV.
That everyone was friendly and perfect location
Breakfast could be better as going for breakfast at 10am meat was looking a bit too dry and tomatoes wasn't washed as could taste chemical on them from shop
The hotel is very clean and nice. The best thing I enjoyed was location. Very easy to get everywhere you need and have a nice walk in the evening. Big thank's to Reception girl, very good customer service and very helpful. Room is basic, Breakfast basic.
I wanted to complain but then I changed my mind and decided not to ruin my holiday because of some very rough impudent girl working in the hotel as a waitress. Her name is Sanita. I paid for the room including the breakfast. In the morning when we came down to have breakfast the clock showed 9.35 and breakfast time is until 10.00 all plates were empty, they didn't have even the hot water to drink tea. We asked the waitress is there anything will be available to drink or eat and she looked at the time, turned around didn't say anything just made a laud sound of pfffff and then she came in to the staff room. My husband knocked the door and another waiter come out. We asked him the same question and explained him this situation, telling that this is very rough and unprofessional. And than this girl is passing us and saying ''ko vins tur teica'' "WHAT did he tell there?''. For that kind of service in uk that girl sanita would not be working any more. This is just disgusting how someone like she can work in the nice hotel at the Old Town. I stayed there for 4 times and now I will have to consider probably different hotel. If I would be there now I would definitely made a complain to the Manager.
Friendly, welcoming staff, comfortable and spacious rooms, free breakfast, location in the old town, reliable internet.
Only two things: (1) unclean bathroom (2) strong smell of smoke in the room. The bathroom was generally clean, but it was obvious that it didn't have a thorough clean with strong bleach for a long time. There was mould in the shower, between the tiles, and the corners of the bathroom were black, with a small bug being sited once.
Good hotel with friendly staff and comportable rooms
The staff was very nice, good location, various breakfast. I would like to come there again.
The location is in the center of everything, the staff were nice, good breakfast included, the facility was clean and comfortable. I highly reccomend staying there.
The room was a bit small, but it didn't interupt anything.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms was clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious. Views from the room amazing. Good value for money. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to visit Riga.
Great location (the real center of old Riga, 50m to Doma square) Courteous staff Nice rooms
poor breakfast. Coffee and drinks are not refilled at the end of breakfast time, so if you come closer to 10am - there is a high chance of leaving without even drinking a cup of coffee. why should a good hotel save on drinks for their guests?
Warm hearted stuff, pleasant greeting. Superior location.
It was told parking is possible with extra charge but when arrived it was necessary to arrange ourselves
Perfect location with a great view (floors 5 and 6); would recommend it 100% for up to 3 days stay
Walls are too thin so you hear your neighbors all the time; breakfast is too simple, comparing to Wellton hotels near; no minibar and teapot
It was my second trip to Riga and my second stay at the same hotel. The staff is just great! Friendly, helpful and very nice! The breakfast is great and the location brilliant!
The shower at my room wasn't so good, but I could manage.
Very noisi, loud music from outside diskobar.
The hotel was a fantastic price for the quality of the room. We were upgraded to a superior room for free. Don't expect luxury, but do expect great value accommodation with breakfast included. Definitely recommend.
- staff were fantastic: we have an 18 month old daughter who obviously has certain needs - meals and bottles microwaved, etc.. This is something that is often overlooked by other hotels, however staff at the Kolonna were always happy to make the trip to the kitchen at any time of the day or night. - location is fantastic, right in the centre of old town. Whilst Riga is relatively small, especially the old town, it made such a difference to be in the centre no more than 100m from the Christmas market. - great value for money. - room was average, but given we went for the cheaper option, it was reasonable. Bit of an odd shape with the windows and wooden joist in the middle, but I'll chalk that one up to "character". - baby bath on demand! For a room with only a shower, we were a little concerned, but we were provided with a baby bathtub on request.
- breakfast was poor to average. Little selection of hot food, but there were still other options that were decent. Not bad, but not good.
Location amazing and friendly staff
Room got too hot at night Breakfast was a bit limited and on the sunday kept running out
