It was my second trip to Riga and my second stay at the same hotel. The staff is just great! Friendly, helpful and very nice! The breakfast is great and the location brilliant!
The shower at my room wasn't so good, but I could manage.
Very noisi, loud music from outside diskobar.
The hotel was a fantastic price for the quality of the room. We were upgraded to a superior room for free. Don't expect luxury, but do expect great value accommodation with breakfast included. Definitely recommend.
- staff were fantastic: we have an 18 month old daughter who obviously has certain needs - meals and bottles microwaved, etc.. This is something that is often overlooked by other hotels, however staff at the Kolonna were always happy to make the trip to the kitchen at any time of the day or night. - location is fantastic, right in the centre of old town. Whilst Riga is relatively small, especially the old town, it made such a difference to be in the centre no more than 100m from the Christmas market. - great value for money. - room was average, but given we went for the cheaper option, it was reasonable. Bit of an odd shape with the windows and wooden joist in the middle, but I'll chalk that one up to "character". - baby bath on demand! For a room with only a shower, we were a little concerned, but we were provided with a baby bathtub on request.
- breakfast was poor to average. Little selection of hot food, but there were still other options that were decent. Not bad, but not good.
Location amazing and friendly staff
Room got too hot at night Breakfast was a bit limited and on the sunday kept running out
- Localization, near everything - Nice restaurants around - Nice breakfast
perfect location in the middle of the city, nice breakfast (from 8-11 on weekends)
wall to the corridor quite thin, so you can hear people coming home in the middle of the night
I like the location which is the best in old town center. Breakfast full with ham, sausage, egg, juice, yokurt, you never need more than this. If I go to Riga again, I will definitely stay in Kolonna Hotel
The light, quiet room with comfortable beds. Very generous breakfast buffet with good variety. If people want 'croissants' they should go to France ! I loved the traditional dark Latvian breads. Hotel staff were most helpful.
After a number of tries, I was unable to access my e-mail account from the computer in the Reception area. The money paid for a 30 minute use of the computer was therefore wasted.
The receptionists were really helpful and friendly especially Laura (so friendly!) who checked us in. We were given a free upgrade and lots of advice. Th cleaners were friendly too. Free wi-fi in the hotel and cafe next door too. The location was great and the price very cheap. Free safe.
The breakfast was quite limited but the selection of teas was good! The TV got my name wrong. ;)
Great location !!! Friendly staff.
The Hotel is located in the Old Town, very close to all interesting places. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but every morning fresh. I can truly recommend this hotel for young couples. I am very pleased with chosing this hotel.
We got a room close to the lift and you could hear it every time when it was used. A little bit annoying, especially at night.
Blonde girl at the front desk was the best. Great customer service in comparison to some other hotels in Old Town we stayed.
Street noise. Our window had a great view, but it was very noisy at night. We had to keep the windows closed. I wouldn't recommend to stay there on Saturdays, because people party all night outside. Other days are allright.
big spacious rooms delicious breakfast
the hotel is in the city centre, loud at night
Location is right in the middle of the Old Town.
Extremely noisy on Saturday night between1am and 5am Sunday. Rubbish sleep
A great location.
Location and staff Brilliant.
Dining Room too small for numbers!!!
The hotel is very clean and comfortable for me. The located is very good. The breakfast is very tasty. The staff is very kind and helpful.
The position is awesome, next to the main square. The hotel is good and the staff very helpful.
The breakfast is almost salt-breakfast and there is not so many selection on sweet food. But this is not a problem.
The breakfast buffet, it was clean.
The room was very cold, the bathroom did not have a separate shower, so that after taking a shower the whole floor was flooded.
Just like other hotels in other East European cities, they tend not to make the beds properly. They only pull up the top sheet and cover.
Excellent location in walking distance of all major attractions.
Hotel located in the center of old town. Everything is within walking distance and there are plenty of bars and cafeterias nearby.
location in dome square, central for sightseeing, breakfast ok
sharing bathroom, shower facilities with another room opposite you, price of room expensive just for this not hygienic when you dont no who they are.
It is located in the very centre of Riga, close to nice bars and restaurants. Most of the staff is kind and helpful.
By night, we stayed there in the week-end, it is very noisy until early mornig, becouse of the music and voices coming from bars and discos of the neightborood (we where at the 6th floor!). The room is quite small.
