Kolonna Hotel Riga is located in the very centre of the Old Town of Riga, in a building on Tirgonu Street that dates back to the 14th century.

Originally, German merchants constructed these buildings as homes close to the Dom Square. Over the years, many reconstructions were performed and the style of the houses changed significantly. In June 2005, this particular building was reopened as a hotel.

our room was nice, the hotel has great localization in the old town. In front of the entrance you can find cosy bakery, and coffee bar.

Very very central, great breakfast included in the price. Great local food/bar acoss the road and to the left. Overall clean, somewhat friendly, and good value. Clean and quite inside. Comfortable and clean beds and bathroom.

Noise from some pub/disco nearby on the Saturday...bring night. The staff were efficient but getting them to talk and be friendly was like trying to get blood out of a stone.

Central location, polite attitude of staff, possibility to leave baggage until evening of the last day (after checkout). Price via your website cheaper than via the hotel's web page.

Breakfast was available and clean, but the setting appeared below standard. Soviet-spartan renovation standard in my room, breakfast canteen and particularly the bathroom in an Old-Riga building that appears to deserve better. Baggage was left untagged in the baggage room.

Central location was the best thing. The place was nice too and the staff knew everything we wanted to know.

Not really about the hotel but watch out for the taxi drives ripping you off.
