just a few-minutes-walk from the train-station and the old-town. cheap.
the room was not very clean, strange smell in the bathroom, it was terribly loud from the street, we couldn't sleep. the bed was too small and there was only one small blanket for two persons. furthermor no plug socket for the bedside lamp - so no chance to reed something in bed. breakfast was terrible most of the time - the hosts couldn't speak english, so they didn't ask us, what we prefer for breakfast (we are vegetarians) and served us anything. (sausages with salad and mayo).
Friendly staff, ready to help. Hotel very close to central bus and railway station. Nice dormitory room for good price.
The breakfast was announced 8 to 10, however on first day of our stay we were informed, that the owner with food has not yet arrived, so there will be no breakfast. Next morning we got some breakfast, but very small one - cup of coffee and small sandwich per person. There was no hairdryer in the room. We were given one at the reception, but it didn't work and something immediately started to burn in it, filling all the room with horrible smell. Windows at the dorm were very dirty. Location - though close to the station - you need to go through market to get there, doesn't feel really safe at late hours. Dorm was on first floor and it was ok, however room for 2 persons was on top floor - it was extremely hot there, fan in the room didn't really help, we could hardly sleep at night...

a delicious breakfast
Clean, modern, very cheap room near city center.
A small room, only roof window.
good breakfast, wi-fi:)
perking too small
Very much it was pleasant. Let's arrive once again.
Close to the old town. Parking place.
Dirty room and bathroom especially. The walls are very thin (we had a room next to the hotel entrance and could hear everything).
We arrived late in the night and we were met without difficulties. The location is perfect - close to the city center by walking, there is a local market with fresh fruits not too expensive. The ladies at the reception and cafeteria are just great. Really friendly and funny, the breakfasts are fresh, home made and local. So you discover the real habits. You choose your dish and you eat well. The rooms are well -done, clean and comfortable. We got everything we needed from the team - wether it was the information about Riga or a supplement toilet paper. Wonderful stay, we spent more time in our room then discovering the city as we were feeling like at home. Thank you very much.
We liked everything.
Pleasant staff - hotel seems to be run by Russian speakers primarily for budget travelers from Eastern Europe. Location seems out of the way, but all things considered is only a ten-minute or so walk to Old Town. Breakfast wasn't supposed to be until 9 AM, but they prepared a special meal for me when they saw I hadn't realized this. Fan in the room helped for hot evenings.
Dated furnishings, particularly in guest room and bathroom. Breakfast only 9-10 AM - I would think tourists or business people might want to have left for the day by then.
