The biggest problem has nothing to do with the hotel. This town is held hostage by roadworks and incompetent supervision of same. Getting anywhere by car was a torment. Our poor hire car bottomed out several times on temporary works.
Equally poor were the creaking floors, the squeaking beds, the thin mattresses, the ill-fitting sheets, the shower head that couldn't stay still, the stuffy rooms and lack of air conditioning, the mosquitos which plagued us when we opened a window and the noises coming from the adjacent rooms due to their floors and beds also being the noisiest we have ever experienced.
Sorry, folks, but if you want a night's sleep, this place will not provide it.
The cafe and bar downstairs serves good meals and reasonably priced drinks all day, every day from morning till 10+pm.
Location is unbeatable for us - my wife has limited mobility, so we always appreciate having shops, cafes and the Information Centre nearby.
