We loved this little hotel(more like a large 4 bedroom apartment). The location was excellent. The reception man/owner - Igor met us personally on the day of arrival and gave us keys (no reception in hotel as such) and allowed us to stay as late as we wanted on check out day as there was no one moving in after us ( we left at 6pm) which was brilliant as our flight wasn't until 10 PM. Old Riga town within 5 minutes walking distance. Nearest shop on the corner of the street. Lovely clean rooms, very powerful showers, shared kitchenette with the other 4 rooms, strong Wifi and fridge in all rooms. Ironing board and iron in communal corridor, main PC for use to anyone in communal corridor also. We were the only 4 people in the hotel that weekend which was great as we felt at home. Would definitely recommend it and definitely stay again.
Very hard to find. We spend over 35 minutes looking for the hotel when we arrived. I would recommend to familiarise yourselves with the route of how to get there before travelling. The entrance to the hotel is through an Arch in a building on the Jekaba street (next to the tea house cafe). There are no sign posts of hotel until you walk through the arch and see the steps to the hotel on the left.
Good and quiet place for people who is looking for privacy.
As we stayed longer period, we would appreciate some cleaning.
As for me it was quite cold in the room. There wasn't shampoo. It wasn't problem for me but maybe it would be useful for someone
The location of this hotel is fantastic, right between the centre of the old town (with bars, nice restaurants and cafés) and one of Riga's beautiful parks. We walked everywhere. Hotel was very easy to find and we were met in the street by the friendly manager. Hotel was quiet and peaceful and our room overlooked a nice little courtyard. The shower was also great.
The wifi signal was not strong. There were some mosquitos in the room. The floor, bedside table and doona cover were a bit grubby.
The location was very good. The room was quiet to get a good sleep. Very good wifi.
Difficult to find, since the entrance is at a back alley. A bit dirty but nothing horrible. There was no one, ever at the reception. The owner appeared to receive me and get paid, I never saw him again. I wanted to ask if I could leave my baggage there after I check out and before my flight but he was not there. I wanted to ask him when the check out is and he was not there so I had to guess. Basic english is spoken.
The location is perfect and the court yard is quiet. Igor at the reception desk was very friendly. It is more a guest house than a hotel but it is perfect for a weekend stay.
The bedclothes (bed?) gave off an odd smell...sort of like damp...and together with the discomfort of the mattress and pillow (the latter - I was given only one - had to be doubled over just to provide any comfort at all)...meant sleep was extremely difficult. The room itself reminded me of student digs...the cheapest possible. Spend the extra and stay somewhere else.
Excellent location, especially if you don't have a car. Parking nearby expensive. Ideal for a married couple looking for no frills and convenience for a great price. Owner is very friendly.
Parking, but I knew the trade off and was fine with it.
Extremely dirty bathroom
the staff and the proximity to the old town.
it is difficult to find the place since it is in a yard in a very (very) old building.
Location, quietness and quality-price ratio.
Cleanness and facilities were not the top. Pillows and blankets too poor.
Not enough facilities. No restaurant
We liked everything. The hotel is not far from the downtown. The room was nice and clean, the owner was very nice waiting for our late check-in. There is a small kitchen there with a tea/coffee facilities
Supreame quality for reasonable money. Freandly and honest service. Ten points to Riga and Magic Trip!
great value for money and superb location. clean and comfortable room.
a quite cold in the guesthouse (i visited in in Feb)
Great place, great room, great personal. Nice and clean. We liked it very much.
Very nice, calm place, very close to old town. Usefull, common kitchen.
It is very difficult to find the hotel which has the main door in the inner courtyard, without any information on the outside street Don't use the room at the end of corridor if you want to use wifi. There are the problems with the range of wifi.
