Wery beautiful hotel, in Riga oldtown. Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Mukava, vanhan-ajan tyyliin sisustettu hotelli. Vanhankaupungin laidalla. Henkilökunta puhuu hyvin englantia, venäjää ja paikallista murretta. Monipuolinen aamiainen. Suosittelen lämpimästi.

Helpful, cheerful staff, very good quality food at reasonable prices. Lift not working due to renovations-people should be made aware of this before arrival as it could be an issue for less mobile people.

The hotel is 50 m far form the the bus stop of the bus n. 22, from and to the airport, 100 m from the central station and in the city centre. A great location but that it's more important a very good hotel! I'd like also to underline the fact of the furniture in the hotel and in the room: it's interesting and fascinating in the same time! The breakfast is good. Maybe a little bit more choice it would be suitable especially for guests from Italy or the South Europe!

This hotel represents good value for money. It is in a fairly good location - close to the National Opera, good shopping and a number of restaurants. Also, it is within walking distance of the coach station. The decor/look of the hotel was dated. Breakfast was fine, nothing extraordinary. We'd recommend a fruit salad instead of sliced fruit platters - we arrived each morning at 7.30 and the fruit already looked not fresh.

Location is really good and rooms are clean. The biggest problem was parking, the hotel doesn't have their parking place and the cost for parking is very high. The second thing, that in my opinion is not normal, that internet connection in the rooms is only for the extra charge...from my personal experience in 4 stars hotel, internet connection is FOC. Rooms are very small (all night i heard the noise of tram) and the breakfast is not like in a 4 stars hotel... If you stay in this hotel, as a tourist - this hotel is ok, because of the location and price, but if you are going for the business purpose - I would not choose this hotel again.

The location to the old town and near to the bus stop to the airport. Although I had booked a single room it appeared I was allocated a double room on arrival which was not facing the road and was very quite. The bathroom was a good size with large shower. The choice of food at breakfast was greater than I had expected. The hotel was undergoing refurbishment but this did not cause me any issues. There was a pleasant bar area. No major issues although the fried eggs at breakfast had obviously been cooked first thing in the morning and the bacon was over done. The duvet on the bed needed to be larger as it was only the width of the bed.

The reason to choose Metropol Hotel was proportion of price and location. But I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of services and very tasty breakfast.

Great location near the huge food market and old town. Incredibly ignorant and non-serviceminded staff. The elevator was not functioning during our 3 days there. The hotel charged extra for wifi.

This is one of the oldest hotels in the city which is located in the very center of Riga. It has small lobby, bar and restaurant for 30 people and a big amount of rooms, some of them has view to the street. The design is fairly old-fashioned but the atmosphere is very calm and positive. Some parts of the hotel are under reconstruction right now. The price and quality in this hotel are in a right proportion. I would recommend this hotel to tourists. There is a lack of facilities, the food is like in a standard 3 star hotel.

The hotel was lovely. It's still undergoing renovations, but there is no disturbance from this!. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with more than the standard meats and cheeses. The room was beautifully appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel was in site of the airport bus stop at Stockmann center and the trams too! Wonderful value and a really good price. The only reason the hotel didn't rate an Excellent, was the construction. You might want to ask for a room on floor 1 or 2 if it's still under renovation and you have lots of luggage. Once finished, this place will be truly lovely.

The positive point is that the hotel is situated at the centre of the city. Negative point is that the hotel is absolutely a maximum 2-3 star hotel. A significant point is that there is no elevator and you have to walk up to 5 floors up several times during the day.

Good location I didn't appreciate having to pay for internet - and not cheap - and when there was a problem we had to make the phone call, for which the hotel then tried to charge us. They had already charged my credit card before we arrived.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Good breakfast, with range of options. A pleasant stay and would use again. Room was slightly to hot and couldn't keep window open because of passing trams.

Good location: very close to the train station and the bus stop to the airport and to the city center as well. It's an average hotel with a quality/price ratio a bit low. The restaurant is definitively absent: I was alone having dinner there with a menu of just 3/4 alternatives.

Decent old fashioned hotel. Room was large and airy. Breakfast generous and varied. I arrived in Riga by bus, and it was within sight of the bus station. They were renovating part of the hotel, but I was hardly disturbed by noise at all.

Location is very convenient, easy to access sightseeing spots and the airport. Amenity is enough. There was no elevator, although explanation of the hotel says there is. Maybe it is due to under reconstruction, however I wish the there were notification when I booked.
