The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is served until 10, so you don't have to get up too early. The gym was small but the equipment was in good condition. The sauna was relaxing and generally very quiet. The rooms were well maintained. Over all a very comfortable stay. The only complaint I can think of is that you had to pay tor the sauna after 11am. This made fitting it in before breakfast a bit tricky.

I highly recommend this hotel! Romantic weekend in suite 301, beautiful, spacious and clean room with balcony and excellent views. Location is good; about 10min walk to Old town, stunning architecture, beautiful park and excellent restaurants nearby. Hotel staff is polite, helpful and speaks english perfectly. Just ask and they will help you in everything they possibly can. Free internet and maps in the lobby. Airport transfer stops just in front of hotel, how convenient. You can have breakfast in room; just pick from the list what you want and what time and they bring everything. Enjoying breakfast in bed free of charge is pure luxury!!! We absolutely loved this hotel, can`t even describe how much!

It is a nice, clean hotel. The staff is really helpful and nice; the location is good not, in the middle of the tourist attraction though (15 minutes walk) but nice neigbourhood. Decent breakfast. Since the hotel is old, you can hear people walking above floor (because of some part of the floor as I understood), if you have light sleep this might be a problem. Otherwise it is great.

Everyone at reception was so nice and the girls super attractive! Then again, the Latvians are all super nice really! Breakfast was gorgeous and very tasty, the room was huge and very comfortable, and the location perfect...only ten minute walk to the Old Town. It really is a great hotel. Funny you mention this.... We booked the sauna and fancy showers for 2am, and sadly, the drains were not working, so we managed to flood the entire spa area. Not really our fault, but we felt awful about the poor person who had to clean after! But really, the hotel is just great!

Generally, very nice hotel with good location in the center, quite near to old town. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Furniture seems to be a little tacky, but still clean. It was a strong cigarette smell in the corridor of the 5th floor (all smoking rooms are situated on the 4th).

Good breakfast. Nice room, big enough. Good value for money. Poor restaurant service (good food, but had to wait for more than 1 hour). The corridors have doors, and it's kind of noisy hearing people opening and closing them.

I really liked the location. Monika Centrum was a short walk to the old part of town and it was in a street of beautiful renovated German art nouveau buildings that were a delight to look at. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and were able to help with most tourist questions such as the best way to get to different parts of the city as well as outside the city eg we went by train to Jurmala for the day after asking reception staff the best way to get there. The breakfast was very good and the dining area was very pleasant, clean and we enjoyed reading the philosophical quotes on the walls. We were given a room with no windows. I was not aware of this when we booked and would have preferred to have known this so we could have changed our booking to a room with a view. The other thing I didn't like was the floor in the sauna area. It was very slippery and quite dangerous. It detracted from the experience of the sauna because walking from sauna to shower and back you had to be very careful not to slip over

The hotel in Riga is in a wonderful area with plenty of art coffee shops around and enough good eating places to reach at night. We felt safe in the area and thought the breakfast was very good value for the money we paid. The service at the hotel was excellent and friendly. I already recommended the hotel to my friends.

Breakfast was good. We are very unhappy with the hotel as of price to quality factor. We told management 4 months in advance that it is our honeymoon, but still got two single beds put together instead of one double bed. We consider that as a big failure especially due to the fact that we were really tiered after the wedding day.Plus we tried to talk to the staff to arrange a different room but they said the hotel is full. We considered leaving but at 12pm we were to tired to look for another hotel

Upon entering our room, we discovered we had received 2 singles instead of a double as requested, after a quick call to reception we were transferred to a beautiful sweet as they had no spare double rooms. What excellent service! I could not recommend Monika Centrum any higher. The location is a little far from the old city. Takes about 15 minutes if you cut through the park (Which I recommend as the walk is quite nice).
