Radisson Blu Ridzene Hotel  

The hotel was very luxurious but not that expensive. It is located i a quiet area, between a park and the canals. The view from the room was great, we could see the park and the big cathedral. But the hotel is still close to the old town and the shopping malls - all are withing 10-15 minutes walking distance. A great breakfast buffet was included. We tried the restaurant for dinner, it was a little pricey compared to some of the restaurants in town, but the food was quite delicious. Room service was great: we had burgers and sandwiches, delivered in 15-20 minutes and at reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly and all spoke English. The free wireless Internet connection worked flawlessly, and you didn't need any vouchers or codes. On the top floor there was a gym and a sauna (steam bath), these facilities were also free. The sauna had a view of the park/cathedral! You could also buy massages and various beauty treatments.

The staff was friendly and I was very happy that they spoke English quite well. I loved that the bathroom floors were heated...unexpected and a much appreciated luxury. The location is quiet and yet central to old town Riga, which is such a beautiful place to visit. I was very comfortable at this hotel. Also, travelers, DO NOT allow jet lag to have you miss their breakfast. I needed to depart by 9am for an appointment and I so regretted not being able to sample the beautiful and extensive buffet.

I arrived in a snow storm and the streets were not plowed. The taxi driver told me her only choice was to drop me off at a corner. So, I had to drag my substantial luggage through the snow and up the stairs of the lobby...all the while hoping that the taxi driver had given me the right directions to the right building. I suspect this is a common problem in Old Town Riga where the streets are narrow and parking is an issue. At a comparable hotel in the us I would have expected a doorman to help with luggage in such a situation. Thus, I recommend they have someone at the door, at least during snow storms. This situation may have proven difficult for families with young children. And Riga's Old Town is such a wonderful and relatively affordable city for families to visit!

Very good staff.Reach facilities (unfortunatly we hadn't time to visit pool and sauna-it should be better to prolong working time till 23-24 o'clock). Breakfast and breakfastplace very good.Parking place too-but it better to add parking place entrance scheme to site of hotel and lift for luggage from parking to lobby.

Very good hotel with ideal location - not in the old city but 5 minute walking. Exellent breakfest and friendly staff.

Location (it's wonderful to stay near to the park) and 7-10 minutes walking distance to the Old city

Too soft bed are not comfortable to sleep. Double bed is really small - it's for one person not for 2!!!!

Good facilities, underground parking , helpfull staff, nice terrace. I liked the heated floor in the bathroom!
