The staff was very helpful and polite, very lovely and clean room. The hotel itself was very pretty and felt like.we were taken to another century.
This newly renovated hotel is located in the very heart of the beautiful and romantic historic quarter of Kuldiga. Kuldigas Metropole has been a hotel and restaurant since 1910.

A historical, well preserved old city in the middle of Kurzeme. Well worth the new status on UNESCO world heritage list. The waterfall Ventas rumbas is impressive, not for it height, but for its width.

A must-have visit for tourists who come to Latvia and have extra time to get further away from the capital (2h drive). The city is well-renovated while keeping the oldschool charm. Restautants, shops, and nice people.
The nature around if beautiful. Kuldiga has the widest waterfall in Europe (widest, not highest :))

Kuldiga is an attractive ancient town filled with cobble stone streets and wooden buildings. The old town is rather compact and hence easily seen on foot. There are plentiful food outlets and pubs serving reasonably priced food and beer. We ate at Marmalades on Pasta iela (street) several times as it had good home-made food at a reasonable price. 20 to 30+ year olds seem to have a good command of English and were happy to answer questions or give directions. We enjoyed the relaxed vibe by day and felt safe wandering the streets at night - its light until about 11.00pm!

It combined fine dining with relatively tourist free (maybe in August there aren’t many tourists there anymore) town. The old buildings in the centre are almost exclusively protected and only renovated from the inside. Kuldiga is covered with flowers to decorate the old buildings. There are many bridges and obviously the red brick bridge is stunning. I also cannot not mention the widest waterfall in Europe. Crossing it is a must and I certainly did. Mind you, even though the water only reaches your knees at its deepest, the current tries to grab you along and the algae makes the stones slippery. I must admit I accidentally went swimming fully clothed!

Very nice, cozy town.
Very nice, cozy town. Surprisingly good food at local restaurants, catering to different tastes. Due to small number of restaurants, it is advisable to book the table in advance, especially during mass events.
Ventas Rumba is the best place where to spend hot summer days. Few after-dinner walks around city center is enough to see all the historic buildings. For additional (interesting) info just take guided tour, it is worth it. Additional places of interest are just short trip away, especially suited for those on bicycles.
P.S. Kuldiga is a small town, no nightlife whatsoever.
I booked a large room for one night, perfect for visiting the city center and to check how the vimba fish jumps over the Rumba waterfall.
The view of the old buildings from my window significantly enhanced the atmosphere. The reception is conveniently located within the restaurant, where the food is exceptionally tasty—I highly recommend dining there for both dinner and breakfast. Good location.
Although the hotel doesn't offer its own parking but there are a lot of free city parking spots around. The price-quality ratio is ideal.
Very unique hotel. Amazing restoration of a very old building with an interesting history. They have done very good work in restoring this building, including all the details. It was an experience in its own right to stay in this hotel. Besides, the location was excellent in the center of Kuldiga. Very nice set of breakfast available in the restaurant next door. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kuldiga.
We spent one night in this hotel. We liked everything but didn't have breakfast as we decided to go to Old Town for breakfast so cannot comment on that.
+ Comfy bed
+ Stylish interior
+ Friendly staff
+ Location - just 15 minute walk away from an Old Town of Kuldiga
+ Space outside has hammocks, tables and seats so you can enjoy glass of wine on fresh air
Excellent location, in the city center, close to all more prominent sightseeing places in Kuldiga. The apartament has very interesting design bringing you some 100 years back in the past. Excellent balance between charm of the past and nowday's comfort. Well equipped, you will find there all you need. Friendly host, quick and good communication.
This wonderful loft apartment is in an historic building in the middle of the old town of Kuldiga. It is quite large with a modern bathroom and kitchen. It feels like living in an 18th century home with all modern aspects. Thanks to the owner who was very helpful. I would be happy to stay here again!
Good location, restful stay, nice tasty food a the hotel restaurant. Good hot shower. Clean. Tourist information available. TV only had local free TV programs, but then again I wasn't visiting for TV watching. Bus station 5 minutes from the hotel, also plenty of cafes and supermarkets nearby.
The place is unique and fits with Kuldiga vibe. It was a nice and authentic stay with a river view! The design at the apartments had a lot of nice details!
Location was excelent. House is not modern but has its own aura. Everything nearby- cafes, shop, river. Owner was very welcoming.
The decor, the vibe and the space - we loved how well the apartment is maintained! Martins is a great host and was very attentive to our requests. We love the place so much we are going to rent it out again once we are back to Kuldiga
At first it was a bit difficult to find the hotel and to understand if you are in the right place. When the place was found, I really liked the place, the view was breathtaking and the room was bigger than I expected.
Probably the nicest apartment we have stayed so far in Kuldiga. It gives you that wow 🤩 feeling when walking through. The owner of the apartment was great host and explained everything.
Beautiful apartment, great details, amazing old town view. And Kuldiga... Always an excellent choice for a weekend trip. It's a pity we had to stay for a very short time there.
Nice flat with Interesting furnishing, fits to the overall spirit of Kuldiga old town. Convenient location, valuable advices from host regarding restaurants in Kuldiga.
The location was awesome, right in the hearth of Kuldiga. All the nicest restaurants are right beside the apartment. The apartment was in historic building.
