Noise from the bar could be disturbing at weekend nights.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good facilities. Great if you're looking to meet people.
Very noisy area as it is in a Main Street. The location is great unless you're a very light sleeper like me. Hostel is new and fresh but requires a really good clean. Lots of bad smells around.
Staff, bathrooms were clean, common area and movies available to watch.
Perfect location! Very helpful staff! They go out of their way to make the guests happy. Nice excursions offered, they can organize many interesting things to do. Lots of space in the rooms, so although there were 7 other girls in my room, I didn't even notice it.
There's not enough space between the lower deck and the upper deck of the bunk bed, so if you're sleeping on the lower deck, you cannot sit up and you'll be bumping your head all the time. Then, they could clean better. A really noisy bar downstairs, but that's not the hostel's fault. One of the windows in the female dorm didn't open and sometimes it got smelly in the room at night.
Good location near the bus station Clean rooms
Price was a little bit high for hostel
There is always some action offered by the staff and you are welcomed into the community right away. The place has a cool style and great kitchen/hang-out area/terrace. Highly recommended! Thanks for the great time, guys!
Noisy environment during night times
fantastic atmosphere, great location, very friendly stuff, free city tour
Perfect location in the heart of Riga, nice young atmosphere, very helpful and friendly personnel. I enjoyed my stay there :)
Great staff, cooking together, going out together, walking tour, there´s a washingmaschine :) yay. Very friendly atmosphere!!
Everything at seagulls was amazing. All the staff as well as other guests were so friendly and welcoming. The facilities are fantastic and there were activities every day and night. We stayed in another hostel inbetween staying at seagulls and when we came back to seagulls it felt like coming home! One big happy family and the number one place to stay in Riga!!
Cool hostel with great atmospere!
The Hostel it's simply perfect. That's it. Go there and you will enjoy Riga like never before. Good position. Nice Staff. What else? Try it.
The common areas are really nice. Fantastic location for exploring old town. Secure facilities. Room was a good value and did the trick.
Staff were hit and miss, we had excellent interactions with some and bad with others. Visible mould in the bathrooms.
It is easy to find this hostel from bus station. Hotel staffs are very kind, and the room is clean. Also good security. (i can access only shared area and the floor of my room.)
The kitchen smells not good.(because of closed space...)
Me and a friend was backpacking for the first time. We had never slept on a hostel before the seagull. We was very supriset how great it was. The staff was funny and helpsome, allways something going on there. Soo we thought that hostels was the greatest way to travel. Dont get me wrong, at the end of our trip we still think so, but the seagal is the best of all the hostels we visited. A great place to stay!! Thx for our stay
Whats not to like?
- Great location. Everything is within walking distance and the stop for the airport bus is within 3 minute walk - Friendly and helpful staff - Free sheets and towels - Free coffee - Free locker - Pub crawls almost every night - Nice hangout area and gaming console - Free walking tour of Riga
- Wifi coverage in the dorm rooms is terrible (especially on the upper floors) - Bathroom clogged almost daily - 1 shower for about 13 or so people - No elevator (although to be fair, I imagine that most buildings in Riga don't have one). It's no fun hauling heavy luggage up 5 flights of stairs. - The great outside lounging area is spoiled by smokers. Smells terrible and they often keep the window open which makes the indoors smell like smoke too.
Clean, in the city centre, nice and friendly young environment
friendly staff, great restaurant suggestions, location, affordable, nice balcony to drink.
everything was ok except that it's very noisy at night. Bar is downstairs.
Friendliness of customers in hostel, everyone was out to make a friend. Lots of travellers on their own from far places visiting Europe. Lots of communal activities if you want to participate. 24 hour staff on sight and felt like a safe location to be in. Right next to the old town and close to the bus station and central market! Good quiet policy after certain hours to keep it quiet, and providing ear plugs is a huge help.
Cramped rooms, insecure lockers that could easily be prayed open, bunk beds obviously very cheap and hard to stay quiet at night when they creek constantly. Hostel had sufficient facilities, yet for a couple doing a cheap holiday and cooking meals in, the kitchen failed to provide basic facilities like a wooden spoon. Small kitchen with 2 small tables were the option we had to eat our meals at. The 'communal' space was taken often up with 'activities' so couldn't eat there, and if you chose to spend time outside you sat alongside overflowing cigarette trays and dirty tables. Hostel generally felt a bit grimey, overflowing bins in the toilets and sometimes toilet roll wasn't replaced. There was a rather noisey male sleeping in our room who would snore and fart all night - turned out he was a member of staff sleeping amongst visitors! Didn't spend much 'chill' time in the hostel as there wasn't much space.
The facilities are modern and clean, the staff is very friendly and the hostel very well located close to the centre and the train station.
It's impossible to sleep until the bar downstairs closes at around 2 o'clock.
Cleanses , good location, female room is big and comfortable, safe, strong wifi everywhere.
There is a outdoor bar under the hostel and always noisy in the night( it doesn't work if you shut the window up ), small kitchen.
Everything nice and clean, great common area and spotless kitchen. Boxes to lock up your personal belongings and really good beds. Pub crawls and common meals available and highly recommended - loads of fun!
No space to leave anything in the showers, not even your clothes. Though no noise from 11pm is somewhat enforced, it doesn't help much with the busy pub right next door.
I was really pleast by the hostel and its location as well as inner design, and personal was profesional and frendly! Best part-this bbq evening guy, who organised dinner and gathered all of us who was there! For 7€ i enjoyed excelent meal (i was vegetarian and got special staft squash with mushrooms!!!!) and drinks in a frendly company. You need to keep this guy with you as long as possible, he was the heart and soul of the hostel which made my stay worth coming back and telling others!
AC could be an option as its warm In the summers, and more showereooms.
Guys, u're awesome. We spent a great time in ur place! Organization and service - amazing! Bike rent and The Terrasse - brilliant idea. Sidr, playstation and musical instruments which my friends were playin all the time gave even more pluses, so as city tours and evening gatherings. Thank you guys so much! Would love to visit u again. Hi from colleagues from Architector hostel, St.-Petersburg, Russia! And say hi to all of da team - administrators, guides and alco-guide also; )
