The common areas are really nice. Fantastic location for exploring old town. Secure facilities. Room was a good value and did the trick.

Staff were hit and miss, we had excellent interactions with some and bad with others. Visible mould in the bathrooms.

Me and a friend was backpacking for the first time. We had never slept on a hostel before the seagull. We was very supriset how great it was. The staff was funny and helpsome, allways something going on there. Soo we thought that hostels was the greatest way to travel. Dont get me wrong, at the end of our trip we still think so, but the seagal is the best of all the hostels we visited. A great place to stay!! Thx for our stay

    - Great location. Everything is within walking distance and the stop for the airport bus is within 3 minute walk - Friendly and helpful staff - Free sheets and towels - Free coffee - Free locker - Pub crawls almost every night - Nice hangout area and gaming console - Free walking tour of Riga

    - Wifi coverage in the dorm rooms is terrible (especially on the upper floors) - Bathroom clogged almost daily - 1 shower for about 13 or so people - No elevator (although to be fair, I imagine that most buildings in Riga don't have one). It's no fun hauling heavy luggage up 5 flights of stairs. - The great outside lounging area is spoiled by smokers. Smells terrible and they often keep the window open which makes the indoors smell like smoke too.

The facilities are modern and clean, the staff is very friendly and the hostel very well located close to the centre and the train station.

It's impossible to sleep until the bar downstairs closes at around 2 o'clock.

Cleanses , good location, female room is big and comfortable, safe, strong wifi everywhere.

There is a outdoor bar under the hostel and always noisy in the night( it doesn't work if you shut the window up ), small kitchen.

Everything nice and clean, great common area and spotless kitchen. Boxes to lock up your personal belongings and really good beds. Pub crawls and common meals available and highly recommended - loads of fun!

No space to leave anything in the showers, not even your clothes. Though no noise from 11pm is somewhat enforced, it doesn't help much with the busy pub right next door.

I was really pleast by the hostel and its location as well as inner design, and personal was profesional and frendly! Best part-this bbq evening guy, who organised dinner and gathered all of us who was there! For 7€ i enjoyed excelent meal (i was vegetarian and got special staft squash with mushrooms!!!!) and drinks in a frendly company. You need to keep this guy with you as long as possible, he was the heart and soul of the hostel which made my stay worth coming back and telling others!

AC could be an option as its warm In the summers, and more showereooms.

Everything! The staff was very friendly and helpful, organized all sorts of activities for guests. Perfect location, right next to the bus station and within the old town, with a supermarket 3 mins away and all the sights quite close by. Nice common areas with computers, kitchen, and terrace, and good Wifi! I would've stayed longer if I could!

Great common room and terrace with a nice bar and even PS3. Perfect to meet people, hang out and spend a rainy afternoon. Lots of activities as well.

The staff tried a bit too hard to sell all sorts of trips etc. for my liking. Our room, even though a double bed room, was tiny. We didn't even have space to open both our suitcases at the same time on the floor and there was no wardrobe or even a cupboard in the room. The mattresses weren't great either, but you rather want to spend your time in the common room anyway or out somewhere in Riga obviously.

The staff and atmosphere make it a very social atmosphere which was nice. They offer many excursions and things to do around Riga. All around very fun hostel and nice comfortable common area.

If you aren't drinking and want legitimate sleep, its a little tough with the bar next door. Definitely recommend earplugs!

    The decoration, common area, terrace

No aircon so the room at the top of the hostel was unbearably hot and only one window opened, therefore couldn't sleep

Location is near old town, facilities are modern

When I arrived ( about 3pm, well after the first check in time) I was told I could not check in because the person who does it isn't there but they'd be back in 5-10mins so just hang about. About 30 minutes later, this woman with frizzy hair turns up after providing the 'free' walking tour. She then spent the next 45 minutes trying to be their best friends, giving them shots of some alcohol, adding them on Facebook and giving the guys flirty hugs to milk them for tips. When she had finished this I followed her to reception where, despite being told about me by the other staff member, she served two other people first. If you can't staff your check in time, either cut the walking tour or move check in time to later. Equally, I got moved from bed to bed during my stay as they hadn't organised the dorms properly, I'd just return to find all of my things thrown on the floor and a bed with no linen on. I would suggest trying a different hostel for sure.
