The Old Town can be reached by public transport within 10 minutes - and you can walk to the most amaizing Jugendstyle area of Riga in 10 minutes! Hotel "Skanste" was built in 2003 and has simple but comfortable furnishings. All rooms have ensuite facilities, satelite TV, refridgerators, internet access. Hotel has its own parking area. All rooms are non-smoking! Hotel "Skanste" is located right by Arena Riga.

Hotel "Skanste" is located right by Arena Riga - the main site for 2006.World Ice Hockey championship!

Food & beverage

Hot buffet breakfast served Monday-Friday from 7:30 - 10:00. Saturday/Sunday breakfast time is from 8:00 - 11:00. For early travelers take away breakfast can be arranged or coffee/tea and sandwich can be served before 7:00 in the morning.

Cafe and bar is opened from 11:00am - 9:00pm. Snacks, soft drinks and hot drinks can be served at any time - reception should be contacted.

Catering for conferences, groups and special events available - please contact manager in advance for details.

Room information

All rooms are furnished in a simple but comfortable way. Beds are 210 cm long (suitable for taller fellows as well :) )

Important: all our rooms are non-smoking rooms - smoking is not allowed in our rooms! We apologise for inconveniences this might cause, however there are no exceptions to this rule.

The rooms have a TV with satellite channels including news (BBC, CNN, Euronews), cartoon channels and movie channels.

Most of our rooms have small refrigerators for your convenience.

Area information

Hotel "Skanste" is located right by Arena Riga - the new multifunctional sports and entertainment center. Arena Riga is the main site for 2006. Ice Hockey World Championship!

Other facilities in the area are: Olympic Sports Center, Skonto Exibition Hall and other.

The Old Town (historical part of Riga) is 5 minutes away by car from hotel (if no traffic jams on streets) or abot 25 minutes of rather slow walking (we will show you the most scenic ways to get to old town - walking through Jugendstile Riga!)
The Old Town has it all - restaurants, entertainment, museums, concerts!

It was clean, light, comfortable, simple... Staff were really kind and helpful. They searched me local activities and events info, solved internet connection problems and allowed me to make a late check-out. Anything you need - internet, car parking, peace, possibilities for sport. There is nice surrounding and the hotel is located close to city.

Best location if you have a plan to visit Arena Riga. It takes only a minute to get back home after a great concert.

However there was Sensation White going on outside, the hotel inside was very quiet. Every room had freezer. For me the best part was location, only 50 meters to Riga Arena where i spent good time till morning.

Very helpful administarors. Very nice area - birds are singing in the mornings outside. Nice feature - bike rent! And excellent price - cheap !!!!

Only snacks and drinks served at a cafe. But this time I went out to eat anyhow.
