Clarion Valdemars is a family run hotel located in Riga, only 110 metres from the Latvian National Museum of Art. It offers rooms with a flat-screen cable TV and free Wi-Fi. Clarion Collection Hotel Valdemars features spacious rooms in pastel colours furnished with wooden furniture. Each heated room includes a safe, work desk and parquet floor. All bathrooms have a hairdryer. Guests have free access to the recreation room, which features a hot tub, Turkish bath and a sauna. It also has a small gym area. Brivibas Iela, one of the city’s main streets, is only 400 metres from the Clarion Collection Valdemars. Riga’s Old Town is 800 metres away. The National Theatre is within 700 metres. Location, warm room, can stay with pet Stuff is absolutely non-competent, "Suite" room was dusty, bit dirty, renovation is needed, showers in sauna lounge without any comments! Dinner and breakfast is absolutely awful! Smell of mold all over 5th floor. Was happy spend only one day there... 100% disappointment! Can't understand why hotel got rate 8.6 on booking.com reviews! They almost lost our reservation and said that it's the fault of booking.com, but i use this site every time i travel! And after i heard another girl said that it came by fax two days before our visit! Room pictures on page doesn't match the reality.

It is not a first time we are selecting this hotel. We like its family like and friendly atmosphere, very professional and polite staff. The rooms are spacious and quite reasonably well equipped. The Internet connection is free and fast. It is impossible not to mention very tasty breakfasts and dinners (and coffee during a whole day).

The Evening Buffet! I need not to think about dinner in the evening. Where is free tea and coffee at hotel. I has not good pillow for slipping. I did not open the windows because of noisy in the street.

A pretty fair location, close to city center, decent breakfast and complementary afternoon snack and dinner Extremely small and unfriendly rooms (no carpets on the floor!!!), poor sound-proof isolation (you can easily hear what the neighbors are doing or what kind of parties are in the buildings nearby), no refrigerator in the room, no a/c in the room, bath is old and dirty and, under no circumstances, do not choose this hotel if you are traveling by car and want a comfortable parking spot: parking is far away, complicated to reach it and the fee requested (10 euro) doesn't have any cover in services... As a conclusion: extremely poor value for for money, surely you can find something better for the same amount of money...

Dinner was excellent! I also liked the free tea, coffee and fruits and the complimentary cake. Curtain in in front of the window was not thick enough.

Tremendous value for money with well appointed rooms allied to good breakfasts and a very acceptable free evening buffet. Excellent location immediately adjacent to the Art Nouveau Quarter and in a period building. Quiet and civilized atmosphere. Minor quibbles with the servicing of rooms which often didn't happen until after 3 in the afternoon.

We liked its cental location as it is near to the old town and parks. The excellent transport system meant that it didn't take long to get to the coast etc. The evening buffet was also really nice as if we had been out all day we could just relax and help ourselves at leisure. We used the spa as well one day which helped our weary feet. The smoking area was right under our room and so we had to keep the windows shut most of the time whcih made the room a bit stuffy. The is nit picking though.

The hotel is situated on the perimeter of the main city squares.and parks .it takes about 20 mins to walk to the old town on the river...the best points.price,location,the buffet dinner and breakfast.and the head receptionist Dace...she is so helpful...would recommend this hotel... the worse bits.......cold english breakfast ...,no parking.it costs 11 euro around the corner for 24 hours overnight....the beds are so uncomfortable...too soft!!!...but give it ago its not a bad deal at all....keith and julie from cwmbran

Friendly staff, 24/7 tea and coffee in the lobby bar, comfortable bed, convenient location 10 minutes by foot from the Old City. Some noise from the air conditioning system, which wasn't very disturbing though. Parking is located 5-7 minutes walk from hotel.

My advice to any one do not visit Riga , Latvia . Unless really necessary .it is a very dangerous place to be . I was on a short business trip , on returning to my hotel late one evening the taxi driver wanted 50ls for a trip of less than 2 km , I refused I gave him 10 ls , he argued with me and demanded I pay more , I told I didn't have it on me , he then called the porter from my hotel , they both escorted me to my room to extract more money from me , I am a seasoned traveller , again I refused , at this point I told them that my friends would be here soon , they eventually gave up.. What happened to me was mild , not suitable for leisure or stags hens etc . Only visit if necessary .... No security , dodgy porters

Particularly liked the recreation area (jacuzzi and steam bath), friendliness of the staff, availability for free of dinner buffet, and of fruits tea and coffee during all the day.

I was in Clarion Hotel for few days. Position is really good, 500 mt from cyty center.They, please take care about it, offer the dinner for all our staying, we have had free coffee and tea all day long. The breakfast ( Continental breakfast) was regular bur fresh ant tastefull . to go to airport u can take trolley bus number 3 and later on on tha bus number 22 from the central market, close the railways station, for only 0,70 lt instead of 5 € with minibus. The bathroom was quite old and little bit cold but clean.

Dinner and breakfast were included in the price. The buffet was simple, but tasty and well presented. The atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and welcoming. We will definitely come back.

Hotel location is perfect, it is in the center of Riga. Now a little bit about hotel and room. Food was perfect I got even more than I ecpected. Free coffe, tea and fruit surprised me too. Ou reserved hotel in their page, was more then fantastic! Room enviroment not so perfect as the food was, poor furniture, worn out blanked, also lack of clean in the bathroom. But I really liked this hotel with one exception.... I paid for may stay in advance, and I think it was my little mistake. When I asked to write an invoice at the reception desk I have heard that it is imposible? But how it can be imposible to get invoice for the stay if you pay in advance? Culture of the receptionist Inga not so perfect too, she lost her patience very fast,. But maybe this is the part of hotel policy to be nice only before and during stay.... And when you leaving you are not guest anymore. P.s. I forgot to mention that she gave me contatct regarding invoice. But during our conversation: ASK the BOOKING.COM for you invoice, y

We loved everything about the Hotel, I requested a quiet room and we got one, no street noise at all. I was very impressed with the breakfast and buffet dinner, absolutely delicious, healthy too. Would definitely stay at this Hotel again, loved it.
