One reception person was super friendly and professional who went extra mile to solve any questions I had. But the rest of the staff (incl.kitchen) seemed to be unwilling/limited in solving any issues beyond the poorly set up blue-print.
Breakfast is SO limited it is not even funny and also it is late . starts at 8 am (one day the chief was much later, I did not have a chance to get my oatmeal before I left for the meeting); Wi-Fi was inconsistent, dropping off all the time or not connecting at all. Staff could not do anything. No elevator, if you are lucky there is someone to help to get it upstairs/downstairs; It is on "pedestrian only" street, taxi cannot really get to the doors;
A big key to hold
3 star hotel at most
Excellent location, the very centre of the city, close to everything you need to see. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice and clean rooms. Good breakfast, but black bread wasn't there.
No parking available for guests. Nearest parking charges 20 eur per day, and the hotel doesn't have any special rate for guests. The bathroom equipment was rather old and not properly maintained - the shower nozzle with lime, poorly functioning; the curtain should have already been changed. There were some problems with wifi, but solved. The room for 2 persons was too small - hardly fitted the luggage in.
Everything except wi-fi. Smack in the middle of historic Old town, but in a quiet nook -- and noiseless therefore. Walking distance to everything, including bus and train stations, if you're a tourist. 5 minutes' walk to bus 22 (Airport, 1.2 €).
Perfect Location for exploring Old town Riga
Close to the center, quiet, beautiful and clean rooms.
Very limited choices for breakfast.
Good location and price. Breakfast buffet included.
I liked the hotel very much, everything. Would like to visit again
Friendly staff, good location, safety feeling, the option to early check-in, even though I did not express my desire but a + for that, staff keen on providing help when requested. If asked, I would recomand it to my friends!
Some problems with the breakfast. You have to be sharp on time, other wise you will end up not having what to chose from. Cleaning the tables is another issue I've encountered, combined with the relative poor selection of breakfast types of food.
Staff very helpful. Location and breakfast very good.
No elevators for bags. Not an issue unless you're not prepared to carry bags.
Located in the center of the old city, everything within reach, bike rental around the corner. Helpful staff, clean room, ok breakfast.
WiFi didn't work on iPad, and on our Android devices it kept disconnecting.
Very cozy ang super cute inner yard. We took room number 11, I read some complain about that room here, that it's noisy and no privacy, but for us it was suitable, we had no such problem. It has excess from the inner yard and has bath tube. There's nothing outstanding about that hotel but it fits general needs - clean, good location, friendly stuff, parking if needed can be provided for additional fee.
For some travelers may be a little poor choice of breakfast. We don't eat much for breakfasts, so no problem here. But some people can be disappointed, anyway, it has all regular cheese/ham plate and freshly made pancakes as well as coffee serving on request.
It was a bit too cold in the hotel
no heat! its freaking the baltics!
In the city center
Staff and breakfast
We loved the quaintness of the hotel. The location cannot be beat. The breakfast was nice and it was possible to order a hot breakfast in addition to the buffet offered. The personnel were all friendly and helpful.
The only minus, and it was minimal, the wifi was sporadic in our room.
Location, peaceful and quiet, value for money
The hotel is right in the center. We had room on the 1st floor, it was very clean, bathroom has everything you need (hairdryer, shampoo, soap), slippers. Breakfast was nice (pancakes,bread,toast,ham,chees,tomatoes,eggs,coffe/tea). The stuff was very helpful. If I would visit Riga again, I would stay in this hotel.
The Old Town and great location.
Staff, clean room, clean hotel, nicely decorated having a good sense of an old building, but recently renovated
Breakfast could have a wider variety of food, bathroom is too small.
the staff was very kind and always ready for any request. Good breakfast.
there was no air conditioning and opening the window we had problems with mosquitos.
Extremely Nice hotel smack in the middle of Old Town Riga. The recepcionist Aline was very kind and changed my booking when she didnt have to. Recomended!
- The only thing that is good about this hotel is its location - indeed, quite conveniently located in the Old Town of Riga, close to various tourist spots. - The reception are of the hotel looks nice. However, the service and quality do not match! This is why I am not recommending this place - for that price you can certainly find a much better hotel.
- Not sure why this hotel is 4 stars - the rooms are quite old, no real amenities in the hotel, even the restaurant is not open throughout the day - Our room (a superior) was not very comfortable at all - the bed in particular was very old and I was waking up every time I moved in my sleep because the bed was making all sorts of sounds (and, believe me, I am a very deep sleeper). On the bright side, the bathroom is spacious. - Most rooms look towards an inner courtyard - the courtyard is nice and a great place to sit down. However, this also makes it difficult to rest in your room as you can hear virtually everything that is happening in the courtyard. Also, keeping your window open is not a great idea, because all the cigarette smoke from the courtyard is coming in. - Staff are not very friendly (especially in the restaurant) - with the exception of the receptionist guy, who helped us with check out - he was very nice and friendly! - Breakfast is terrible - everything was cold and/ or dry.
