Score from 56 reviews Superb
The riad is an an excellent location in the centre of the medina and feels very homely and secure, serving as an ideal base. Mohamed is a superb host and ready to help with any request. He even cooked us dinner one evening which was fantastic, and also arranged to meet us at the bus station with someone to take our bags. This was very helpful as the riad would be extremely difficult to find on your first visit! Read the other good reviews on here, they paint an accurate picture of this charming little place. If you are reading this Mohamed, thank you!
Mohamed really looks after you when you stay at this traditional Riad. When we stayed he invited us for lunch and cooked us some beautiful Moroccan sea food. Well worth a stay!
Difficult to find in the first place!
The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Mohamed the manager is a great host. When we booked we left a message on the booking form saying what time bus we were getting. On arrival completely unexpected was a man with my name on a card and a trolley for our luggage who led us to the Riad. We arrived and had booked a small room on the ground floor but because the place had spare rooms we were upgraded. The place is full of character and if you want a Moroccan Riad experience this is great
The place is reasonable cost wise so don't expect luxury, you get clean friendly and full of character with a attentive host. We would stay there again but there are better more expensive places in town. It's hard to find even with Google maps so ask for a meet and greet at the bus station
Everything. Mint tea and pastries on arrival. Breakfast. WiFi. Location. Room was really nice. Owner was lovely and even walked me to the bus terminal to help me with my ticket to Marrakech.
That I had to leave.
Lovely welcoming place in Essaouira medina. Stylishly decorated, but very cosy at the same time. So much breakfast! Would definitely stay there again. I was slightly concerned by other reviews that said the bathroom wasn't well separated from the room, but there were no bad smells!
Hard to find on the first day, but Mohammed will arrange someone to meet you from the bus.
If you looking for a nice experience but don`t want luxury I think this will be a place for you.
location was perfect but no easy to find breakfast was very good and staff was kind
rooms are too small and little uncomfortable, there is no privacy because you hear everything
Our host Mohamed was extremely kind and helpful as was the young girl who assisted him. We were made very welcome and have very happy memories of our stay.
Locaded in a quiet part of the Medina a good 20 minute walk from the main square or even more if you get lost. Not easy to spot but the.owners are quite helpful and they sent somebody to pick us up from the gate where the taxi left us. Room was quite small but clean and cosy. The aircon didn't work so it did quite hot during the night. We arrived quite late but they arranged a sort of dinner even though the kitchen was closed.
The girl who met us was friendly and helpful.
The whole place was dark and felt slightly damp. The whole place was dusty and slightly grubby. The bathroom was completely separate from the room and across a landing. This was not made clear in the advert. This riad was not up to the standard of other places at the same price in the area and we moved on after one night.
Everything, it looks and feels like a Riad not a sterilised Club Med affair. The staff could not have been better, nothing was too much trouble, looked after me when I became ill, thanks Mohamed for great stay. In the heart of the Medina (the heart of Morocco) 100% happy
The hotel was very clean. The manager was kind.
Our host at Riad Alech was very friendly and hospitable giving us a delicious breakfast each morning and sweet pastries on arrival with mint tea. He also spoke and understood English.
We would choose a bigger room next time with somewhere to sit after a big day out.
Amazing service, excellent breakfast with tea and pastries, inside was wonderful as was the view from the terrace, good location I'm the back of the city near the city walls.
Wifi wasn't working during stay.
The host was very kind and treated us like family.the riad is very pretty with lovely furniture. We will definitely come back
The Riad is traditionally decorated, each room very individual. Mohamed the owner is a very helpful, kind man, providing us with local information and mint tea. We were the only guests staying there, it would have been better if other guests had been staying so we could share our experiences.
The Riad is not easy to find, we arranged with the Mohamed for us to be collected from the Supratour agency. The approach can be off putting but we felt safe and the street traders were helpful.
Reception was warm and welcoming, in a wonderfully maintained building off a side street of one of the main shopping streets. Mint tea was available in abundance.
As in most Riads, rooms were not very soundproof. While not a large problem, smells from street works did make it into our room.
