Everything. Mint tea and pastries on arrival. Breakfast. WiFi. Location. Room was really nice. Owner was lovely and even walked me to the bus terminal to help me with my ticket to Marrakech.
That I had to leave.
Lovely welcoming place in Essaouira medina. Stylishly decorated, but very cosy at the same time. So much breakfast! Would definitely stay there again. I was slightly concerned by other reviews that said the bathroom wasn't well separated from the room, but there were no bad smells!
Hard to find on the first day, but Mohammed will arrange someone to meet you from the bus.
If you looking for a nice experience but don`t want luxury I think this will be a place for you.
location was perfect but no easy to find breakfast was very good and staff was kind
rooms are too small and little uncomfortable, there is no privacy because you hear everything
Our host Mohamed was extremely kind and helpful as was the young girl who assisted him. We were made very welcome and have very happy memories of our stay.
Locaded in a quiet part of the Medina a good 20 minute walk from the main square or even more if you get lost. Not easy to spot but the.owners are quite helpful and they sent somebody to pick us up from the gate where the taxi left us. Room was quite small but clean and cosy. The aircon didn't work so it did quite hot during the night. We arrived quite late but they arranged a sort of dinner even though the kitchen was closed.
The girl who met us was friendly and helpful.
The whole place was dark and felt slightly damp. The whole place was dusty and slightly grubby. The bathroom was completely separate from the room and across a landing. This was not made clear in the advert. This riad was not up to the standard of other places at the same price in the area and we moved on after one night.
Everything, it looks and feels like a Riad not a sterilised Club Med affair. The staff could not have been better, nothing was too much trouble, looked after me when I became ill, thanks Mohamed for great stay. In the heart of the Medina (the heart of Morocco) 100% happy
The hotel was very clean. The manager was kind.
Our host at Riad Alech was very friendly and hospitable giving us a delicious breakfast each morning and sweet pastries on arrival with mint tea. He also spoke and understood English.
We would choose a bigger room next time with somewhere to sit after a big day out.
Amazing service, excellent breakfast with tea and pastries, inside was wonderful as was the view from the terrace, good location I'm the back of the city near the city walls.
Wifi wasn't working during stay.
The host was very kind and treated us like family.the riad is very pretty with lovely furniture. We will definitely come back
The Riad is traditionally decorated, each room very individual. Mohamed the owner is a very helpful, kind man, providing us with local information and mint tea. We were the only guests staying there, it would have been better if other guests had been staying so we could share our experiences.
The Riad is not easy to find, we arranged with the Mohamed for us to be collected from the Supratour agency. The approach can be off putting but we felt safe and the street traders were helpful.
Reception was warm and welcoming, in a wonderfully maintained building off a side street of one of the main shopping streets. Mint tea was available in abundance.
As in most Riads, rooms were not very soundproof. While not a large problem, smells from street works did make it into our room.
The host Mohammed made it an unforgettable experience. Definitely a place you don't want to Miss out.
The staff were amazing, such a great host. He had dinner cooked for us one night (which was delicious) and always offering us mint tea. Great breakfast too. A great rooftop terrace to relax and was beautifully decorated.
We had the cheap room downstairs so wasn't overly private but it was fine
Beautiful building, all the areas we saw were well maintained and clean. Very friendly staff, mint tea was constantly on offer. Location is great for access anywhere to the rest of the medina and it is fairly easy to find.
Could be a bit cheaper. As with most Riads the level of privacy (mainly in the form of sound proofing of rooms) can be a bit low.
We spent a magic week at Riad Alech. The warmth and generosity of the welcome exceeded all expectations and our host's local knowledge enabled us to make the most of our stay in Essaouira. Our room was clean, cosy and offered everything we needed. Breakfast was copious and delicious. We were close to the souk and the sea, and enjoyed pleasant evenings under the stars on the terrace!
