I heard some not great things about Marrakech but actually being there changed my mind.
Walking around Marrakech is fun, but the heat can be too much, and prepared to be stopped by people trying to give you a ride or sell you something, but no one is rude to you.
Bahia palace was way too overcrowded.
Very fun place to go shopping.

Absolutely beautiful, friendly city.
Absolutely beautiful, friendly city. Take time to listen to the locals, they are proud of their crafts and pleased to show you local techniques, no need to be intimidated. It can help to have a local guide for your first few hours to take you through the souks to get your bearings and help understand how to haggle if you want to buy, or to respectfully say no if you don't. We consistently found a simple polite 'no' if you are not intending to buy is fine and respected. Our children, 12 and 14, felt safe and enjoyed the whole experience. It can be very busy, so stay close together, but people are lovely and friendly with huge amounts to see and explore. Bring extra space in your luggage for shopping to take home, the ceramics, glass, silks etc which are just beautiful. We loved Le Jardin and Cafe Arabe for food. With kids, for a day away from the city if it is busy, the waterpark Oasiria is lovely.

Marrakesh is beautiful city.
Marrakesh is beautiful city. The people were very friendly and polite, they do not bother you, very well mannered. You have to use your bargaining skills when buying from the Souk. It was very clean.

I feel like my last review didn’t adequately show my appreciation for the how lively Riad Safar is. It could not be more beautiful, it was quiet and I slept really well. The roof top with the small pool was wonderful and all of the staff were so kind. The architectural details were stunning, the tile fountain and central courtyard is a true gem, the curated art was spectacular and the two very young kittens without momma were so cute. We lived our stay there!

The best tip I can give about visiting Marrakech: stay in the medina. The rest of the city is lovely but the bustle, colour and life in the old city is beyond compare. Bring your most comfortable walking shoes, (and buy some more in the souks!), prepare to get lost a lot, and don’t be afraid to haggle if you want something. Marrakech is truly a feast for the senses, but there are pockets of quiet and tranquillity throughout. And don’t forget to leave plenty of room in your luggage allowance, you’ll be leaving with bags of treasure. For sightseeing, Bahia Palace and Ibn Yusuf Madrasa are two must-sees and for sheer chaos and exuberance, Jmaa el Fnaa is spectacular, especially after dark.

Stunning city!
Stunning city! The colours, the energy, the madness on the streets made it all so unique. Night time was a party every day!! These people are really fun!! :) There is so much to see!! I stayed for 4 days but definitely could have stayed longer. Next time!! Even then, I managed one day up in the mountains and one day in the desert. What a contrast!!
Marrakesh I love you!!!
The room with fireplace was beautiful, the whole riad and location are perfect, you should ask them for dinner because they made us the best food during our trip in Morocco, we regret that we didn't order it every day (but we ordered it twice and every time it was AMAZING, I think 5 stars hotel can't make so delicious food) - if you want to try authentic and delicious Moroccan food don't look in the restaurants in Medina, ask them about the dinner, and they can even prepare you what you want. The staff is amazing !
Hassan was outstanding, his Customer Service skills were excellent, he went above and beyond his duty for my sister and I.
The Riad is extremely fortunate to have him as an employee. My sister 's job was to position senior management in 5 star hotels around the world and I was an international flight attendant for 32 years with Qantas Airways Australia so we have knowledge of what good customer service is.
All the staff were excellent and made our stay in Marrakech a very special experience.
The room that I stayed is very comfortable, the place of the villa is also close to the city center, so I chose to visit the square and also Medina just by foot. Soofyan is the best hoster I have met in Morocco! He invited me and other guests to the Ramadan breakfast and we had a really good time. He's wonderful, he has a nice personality. He said to me that welcoming nice people from all over the world makes him happy, and I am very glad that I chose to live here in my 3 day stay in Marrakesh.
Excellent trip we booked two rooms for our family. Every thing was above expectation Reception staff specially Samir was well trained professional . We used most of the hotel facilities including pool, breakfast , restaurant, room service, shuttle service, they were all up to professional standard. Our experience staying in this hotel was 5 stars specially my children like it very much
Staff was very friendly and helpful upon our arrival and until our departure, we booked the dinner which was delicious and hamman and massage which was one of the best experiences and way to end our trip in Morocco. Rooms and hotel were spacious and nicely designed, good to get some rest. :) We also booked the transfer to airport which was seamless, would highly reccomend to stay here.
Getting parked was never a huge issue. The common areas are beautiful and so are the rooms. The staff were amazingly helpful and courteous. Loved the pool on the roof. Of the 3 other hotels, booked for this Morocco trip, Jadali was the best and served as a perfect launchpad for our group to visit clubs in the area; like Triple 5.
If you want to feel the authenticity of Marrakech instead of living in an anonymous hotel far from the city centre, this is clearly the best choice. 20 minutes’ walk from most of the sightseeing, 10 minutes from souks. Michel is a nice host, really helpful with a pocket full of interesting stories about Marrakech and Morocco.
Fantastic riad, the rooms were great and clean, the breakfast superb and the staff very attentive.
Edoardo, the owner, was very accessible and helpful with his recommendations.
After staying at Riad D'ari we stayed in a well-known 5 star hotel in Marrakech, and the experience wasn't as great as here.
The staff is excellent. Very friendly and want to help you. They will set up day trips and transportation. Rooftop over looks the Medina. Location is excellent.
Breakfast is very good. Had a wonderful 8 night stay.
Plan to come back to Marrakesh and would stay at the Art & Emotion Hotel again.
We found the staff friendly, and so helpful. Mehdi was amazing he took the time to explain the different attractions we should visit, and how to get to them. We enjoyed talking with him about Marrakesh and life in Morocco. We appreciate the time and great service we received. Thank you so much
This felt like a 5 star hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, if they saw us carrying luggage they would be strsight there to take them. The entertainment staff do an amazing job, and actually look like they enjoy their job too! The same for the lovely waiters & catering staff.
The food, service, and style of the hotel were amazing. I highly recommend the quad bike/camel excursion bc the views are great. The hotel is located in the market where a lot of vendors sell items. You will definitely get an authentic Morocco experience if you stay with this riad.
We had an amazing experience. The staff was phenomenal and highly professional. My family had a good time and we plan to return. We visited couple all inclusive hotels in Marakesh and this one is the best. Thank you for the amazing experience! Bravo
Nothing. It was just a disaster! The worst hotel stay I've experienced so far.
It does not deserve at all the 5 star rating.
I was shocked by the very bad quality of service at all levels: reception, food, waiters, swimming pool, spa...
Top class riad, had dinner on the roof terrace which was very good. Very welcoming staff who looked after my needs constantly, 5 Star customer care at this Riad that has a feel of a top class boutique hotel. Thanks guys!
excellent location, a couple of minutes from the square. The room has everything you need, a good shower. This was our first experience in a riad, we did not expect a 5 star hotel, so we are completely satisfied
