The house looked very different than the photos we saw. it was poorly cleaned. We saw so much hair in the toilet and bathroom. Also the the tools in the kitchen was not clean at all. The linens were not so clean either. At night, we saw a few cockroach in the house, unfortunately it was not a pleasant visit for us.
Fantastic location. Beautiful view from the living room. Nice apartment. The owner and the landlord are helpful.
Street noise in the evening/during the night - can be a problem when travelling with a baby.
After asking the owner about the washing machine and the wifi, I received a very rude e-mail in return. He explained to me how this is not America (I am a resident of Morocco for 6 years and this is my 20+ time here in Essaouria) and that I should know the wifi was out of his control and that the machine was not for me to use (the room was open so I used it) and told a long story about how people exploit the Moroccan care taker. I work for a Foundation that creates jobs for women. It was somewhat ridiculous to deal with this man. I would choose another place along the sea wall and not stay here again. There is no reason for his rudeness.
View from the window is excellent
No Wi fi excess, smell of wetness in the room, dirty street of medina
No wind break to roof terrace No oven and work tops high!! A pity about the windows always affected by the sea and sand
The ocean view is a rare find. I could look at the view all day and feel as if the ocean belongs to me! It's such a nice and tranquil escape from the busy streets. . Had the pleasure of meeting the owner who shared with me his love for Essaouira.
A nice and cozy apartment that makes you feel like you're travelling in time. The architecture and decoration are inspiring, and the location is amazing, in the city's medina, right on top of Essaouira's coastal wall, with a fantastic view to the waves crashing into the rocks. It has a small kitchen, although we didn't use it. The building has a nice terrace on the rooftop that you can enjoy (although this windy city has a lot of days that don't seem that much outdoor friendly).
The wind was so much that it was coming through the windows. The wi-fi wasn't working.
Great sea veiw! Would be ideal for groups of 4/5 people. Very basic, but has everything you need.
Lack of outside space. Terrace was good for a quick smoke or look at the sea. Totally unusable for us with a baby. Luckily the Riad next door has excellent facilities open to the public.
A lot of space and a spectaculair view of The Ocean.
The neighbourhood was smelling with garbage. It was too windy to open the windows or to sit on the terrace
The location is fabulous in the Medina and the view of the Atlantic Ocean both from the apartment and the terrace are spectacular. As a family with two small kids the apartment was perfect for our needs with ample areas for play. We had some minor issues with the power and with the number of beds and the host helped us on the phone from Belgium really quickly and efficiently. We even got some restaurant suggestion.
The kitchen is not the most practical, the counter is very high and there could be some more plates. However, this is a minor problem since in Essaouira you're going to want to go out and eat most of the time. A more serious problem is that I definitely think there is a mold issue due to the exposure to the ocean. We were coughing and sneezing for the duration of our stay and then some.
Great location and fantastic view. We were there in December and it was a little cold at night but that was our experience throughout Morocco so just be prepared. Good character and it met all our needs just fine. The big bedroom is only separated with curtains from the living spaces; we didn't mind this at all but just wanted people to know. We like the town very much; it is more laid back than the bigger cities and a great place to browse shops without the pressure.
Two flights of stairs up with no elevator. This was fine for us but just letting people know.
Everything was great. The view on the ocean just below the window, the interior design, the location!!! We LOVED it there and definitelt will recommend to all our friends. I usually don't like staying in the same place twice, but here we will come back one day! Thank you for making our days in Essaouira so wonderful, because of this place :)
View from windows! Thanks to that you can tolerate some minuses.
Everything was clean... only floor a bit sandy.
Really nice sea view. Very calm and quite. The big bed was really comfortable.
The toilet was not 100 % clean The lady came over and cleaned it again, yet we still had to clean it by ourselves because she didn't see the dark spots. Due to the sea water the appartment was very humid, it smelled a bit mouldy
The view is fantastic and the decoration is also original
Tv was not working. The light went out for the night and there were no candles in the apartment. The cleaning lady came in in the morning unannounced.
Beautiful view over the sea.. great location. A nice and spacy apartment.
The street was a bit dodgy at first. Due to a muslim fiest which included the burning of goats heads in the street! But everything was soon cleaned up the day after, though.
Beautiful apartment actually in the old city walls with the Atlantic right below filling the view. Fantastic tiny shops and wonderful restaurants close by. No cars in the old town makes for easy walking everywhere.
The main double bedroom has no door just a big curtain. Looks great but not private if you are staying with others. Wifi didnt work but owner on phone from Europe and his caretaker tried their best to help. We still loved the apartment and would go back.
