On the seafront, a 5-minute walk from Essaouira Port, this hotel is designed around a large outdoor swimming pool. It offers spa facilities, 3 restaurants and 2 bars, and free Wi-Fi in public areas.
Score from 289 reviews Excellent
Next to the ocean, the Mimouna is a traditional riad (Moroccan house) offering peaceful accommodations and a large terrace with panoramic sea views in Essaouira.
Score from 159 reviews Very good
The grand Palais Des Remparts is in the heart of the medina (historic quarter) of Essaouira, only 3 minutes from the beach. It is a stylish hotel and serves traditional Moroccan cuisine.
Score from 153 reviews Very good
Sofitel Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa, on the Gary Player Golf Course, features 2 swimming pools, a fitness center and a private beach. It offers stylish villas and suites.
Score from 148 reviews Very good
Almost everything. Very comfortable, big rooms, clean, EU style hotel. Parking is gratis. Breakfast is very good. Free sun beds on the beach are a very good option. Rooms with the sea view are the best.
Without a free drinking water (5 stars) in the room? WiFi in the room was poor. Tourist tax is expensive (34 Dh/day/person).
Very nice hotel with a swimming pool. Breakfast is fine. Hotel is not in the middle of the medina but easy to walk. And there are a lot nice places to eat and drink in the neighbourhood
the staff was extremely rude and arrogant we requested an early check-in for just one room out of 3 as we were travelling with my old grandparents, they refused and lied that the hotel is full. In practice it wasn't, there was almost no people around at the check-out desk around noon (for a 100% full hotel you would expect that) and the rest of the hotel was empty. the rooms are worn location is so-and-so waiting times for orders is very very long the pool is cold some kind of stupid card system for getting towels at the pool
Nice location just few minutes from the old city . Few steps from the beach. Decent breakfast. Lovely staff if i go back i will settle there
The location is great, spacious rooms, could be a fantastic place with a little bit better management
The music within the hotel promise was the same every day, Bob Marley, Shania Twain and James Blunt. If you don´t like these musicians, don't book here, you can't escape it. The procedure to get pool towels is hilarious, the shower in the room always ends in a bath flooding and you need waiting time for the pool bar, quiet often there is nobody. And don't book the breakfast, they burn the vegetables!
Nice big room and bed with great view of the beach. Wind barriers around pool are a great idea.
Only 3 pillows for 2 of us. Wifi pretty variable.
the spacious lounges and outdoor space. The restful ambience. Helpful staff. The fruit bowl and water to welcome us. The sea view from our room. The large pool. The massage in the spa. Lots of sockets for recharging phones, camera and tablet. The breakfast buffet with plenty of choice.
the stained carpet outside the room, Housekeeping poor. One day they forgot to clean the room, on another they took all the towels and they also threw away the hotel information and excursion list. Reception stafff put everything right. The overbath shower was attached far too high and was impossible to reach in the slippery bath. The one hour free spa use was useless, giving access only to the very small heated pool. Jacuzzi and hammam were at extra cost. Pillows were not very good quality. There was no facility for tea or coffee in the room. Sound insulation was poor and we were woken at 6am by a neighbouring tv and also heard furniture being moved around after midnight
Very nice and helpful staff. Nice big room and bathroom. Clean.
This hotel is not more than 4 star hotel for western European standard. The boy at the pool ignored the guests and some of them had to wait long to get their towels. He was not helpful in opening the umbrella as some people had problems. A propos breakfast they used to prepare scramble eggs but unfortunately it was egg soup.
Location, pool, Spa, breakfast
Had a real good spa experience with professional massage
Wifi connection not stable
Location on beach is good, not too far from Medina Decent value
Modern, very different from a Riad Staff weren't fantastic, polite, efficient but that's all Drinks expensive Breakfast mediocre NOT 5 star (or even 4 star !)
We were in Essaouria for 5 days so being located outside the medina was perfect really nice to have some space from the busyness of the medina. Also It was also so lovely to walk along the beach from the hotel to the medina each night. The hotel had the best breakfast, so much variety. The staff were so helpful and really cheerful. Our room was really big, always clean and really comfortable. The pool was great and amazing that we were only a few steps from the sea plus we had our own lounges on the beach! Loved this Moroccan hotel - really recommend it.
- localisation (3 mins from beach) - a swimming pool (clean, chairs) - design and architecture - good mohito:)
- staf don't speak English - breakfast is very poor and every where is mess (sticky and dirty coffee machin) - rooms are very comfortable BUT people who built the hotel didn't pay attention to details at all (broken tiles on walls, cement in corners, rust on metal things) - not white but old grey towels - at swimming pool towels are used many times (the same towel is offer to many guests) - employees don't have any service standards, often are sad, unhappy; look like they have no support from managers
Restaurant the seven
Location - right on the beach , but the medina and port within easy walking distance.
The staff are trying ....but still have a way to go in the hospitality world. This is a big hotel and it's a hike to the rooms - not an intimate Moroccan experience.
We really enjoyed our time in Atlas. Location was very good with 10 min stroll along the beach to the medina. Swimming pool was clean and big with loads of lounge chairs to choose from. Private beach was lovely and there always seemed to be couple of free umbrellas. Our room was bright and spacious and had great views of the swimming pool.
Receptionists were not great, no thank you or goodbye at checkout and a bit over familiar during our stay.
everything is good in the hotel
The details are not 5 starts worth. I would classify it 4 stars
We were given tea on arrival while filling in forms which was a nice welcome. Hotel was spacious, great piano bar with jazz singer. Good pool area with bar.
Wi-fi was non existent in room and erratic in public areas. Mostly buffet meals in restaurants rather than a la carte. Some staff were not very amiable.
I always loved the Atlas, the only reason I said I would not recommended is because they were well below their usual standards.
I have stayed in this hotel 3 times and absolutely loved it. However, this time around I had a broken shower, unhappy staff. In the lobby toilets there was no hand drying facilities until the 10/09 that they had a seminar and the they placed the hand towels. The overcharging and lack of attention to detail. Not a five stars hotel anymore, very sad!
The building itself was very nice and clean. Pool facilities were excellent and the restaurants as well.
The staff was not very helpful, spoke very little english and the housekeeping could never bring fresh towels at the time they cleaned the room. We always had to wait for the towels. Internet was very slow and limited connection.
The food, location, facilities and helpfulness
Nothing, it was all very good.
the location is acceptable close to the beach and the staff good, also the kids garden is nice.
the rooms are small like if you are in a 3 stars hotel not 5! the kids pool very small 2.4 to 3meter in diameter! the breakfast is poor too.
Nice Room. Great location. Lovely pool and well kept grounds. We had trouble with plumbing (water stopped flowing), but this was mended in reasonable time. Food was great, though we only ate there once as it was a little pricey and food is great everywhere in Essaouira.
The hotel took the online booking fee twice. It was refunded within a fortnight - but the cost of a non-sterling transaction still had to be paid. With one exception, the staff at reception and the staff at the Spa were a little severe. No-one (except one guy) smiled much. We were surprised by the mysterious 'local taxes' on the bill at the end of the stay - more than Dh60 per day. We hadn't expected or budgeted for that. We couldn't really get an explanation for this at reception.
- beach restaurant
- too expensive for the service and quality (not a 5 stars hotel) - poor pool service and staff - no hot water in the room - slow internet connection - poor breakfast
This establishment is advertised as a 5* hotel. It is however far from that rating. On arrival we were asked to sit down and fill in required check-in documents. We were not offered any refreshment or a single glass of water. Quite surprising for a 5* establishment. There was no tea&coffee making facilities in the room, no bottle of water provided. Again, this is a normal for 5* hotels. The amenities were basic. Room was comfortable but the A/C seemed not to be working that well. The building gives an impression that was built not so log time ago but the room was already quite ‘tired’ and bit neglected. Breakfast was fair but when there was a lot of guest the staff was not able to cope with the service. The same refers to the swimming pool. At the peak times there was literally no place to accommodate all the guests willing to rest at the swimming pool area. The sunbeds was placed very close to each other, guest were squeezed as the sardines. Dinning options were very limited. The international buffet offered by in one of the restaurants was a huge disappointment (very limited selection of food, quite cold food). Finally the spa. We have booked a room with a 1h-spa package which was a joke as it gave us only an access to the little pool and a small gym. Do not bother. Staff was trying to be helpful (especially those at the swimming pool an breakfast) but the ones at the main reception did not show any understanding when we asked for a late check out (1h later) and had a quite an attitude when we have asked for a detailed explanation of our bill. Would not stay here again.
