After staying in several places in Morocco, all of good standard, this was by far the best accommodation we stayed in during our 10 night trip. There are some steep steps from the road, but once down the 20 or so steps you are in a beautiful private well kept garden with rooms and the main house off this. The hosts Poulou & Martine are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food is great we ate excellent meals both evenings washed down with some very good local wine. The garden backs onto the river that runs through Setti Fatma in the Ourika Valley. We did the tourist trek to the waterfalls with a guide (worth the small fee) and on the second day a longer hike on our own recommended by Poulou through a couple of nearby villages and mountain paths only seeing locals all day. Will definitely stay here again when next visiting Morocco and highly recommend for quality, friendliness, location and price. Thanks Poulou and Martine for a memorable stay.

    Nothing, all good.

Everything -- the hosts were great, the decor was beautiful and the food was excellent. We had wonderful hikes in the area and plan to return there to stay longer next time. You couldn't ask for better hosts -- they were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, with Moroccan pancakes, bread, cheese, jam, amlou, fresh orange juice and coffee. We highly recommend having dinner there as well -- ours was outstanding.

Very friendly owners and a very cute place located along the river up in the Montains, right before the most populated village area of Setti Fatma. Perfect location for relaxing with nice gardens for the spirit.

The hospitality of both Poulou & Martine and the excellent meals Poulou cooked for us. As the nights were cool we were made to feel very welcome in their home complete with a lovely log fire which made it very homely. We visited the cascades with a local guide (Braheem) that Poulou arranged for us who was very helpful and caring. In all a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it.

Good atmosphere, helpful people, nice place along a beautiful river, where all other small hotels seem to be owned by locals.

The hotel has very steep stairs from the main road down to the river - not easy with luggages. The car could be parked with small fee along the road in public car parking. It is not so usual that the owner is smokin in the room, where the guests are eating. In November it started to be cold and some of the rooms very quite cold. Only one of the staff speaks any English.

This is the perfect place to recuperate after a few hectic days in Marrakech. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of the passing mountain stream. Au Bord de l'Eau is beautifully situated in quiet gardens, yet within walking distance of Setti Fatma and hiking trails. Thank you Poulou for taking care of us during our stay. The mountain walk you recommended was the perfect choice for us.

We booked 3 nights in order to escape the heat ans stress of Marrakech. We were looking for a quiet place in the Ourika Valley closed to the mountains and waterfalls. Au de l'Eau is the perfect place to stay, Poulou,Martine and Anas make you feel right away as if you were at Home. The rooms, well furnished and perfectly clean, the garden with the place to rest directly at the river, the view on the mountains, everything was perfect. And don't miss Poulou's cooking, this was the highlight every evening. We booked rooms with Dinner included and I would definitively recommend this. We enjoyed having dinner looking at the moutains and chatting with Poulou, Martine, Anas and the guests. We were 5 people and all agreed this was one of our best stay in Morrocco. We had as well a half day tour with a guide arranged by Poulou, we did not do the classical Waterfalls Tour as it is pretty crowded during August; The alternative tour was great as we did not meet 1 Tourist during 5 hours walk through the mountains. If you plan a trip to the Ourika Valley don't miss a stay at Au Bord de l'Eau, it is worth it. We will definitively go back
