The rooms. We slept in two caves. Loved it! The people who work here are incredible friendly. Lovely food. And the place itself is very special. It's set alone in gorgeous surroundings. (The road is fine). We hiked from the auberge and met a nomad family, which made a big impression on our two sons. In april there was still water in the river. So we could build our own swimming pool in the river. Lovely place to stay for a couple of days.

Staff is fun, warm and welcoming, excellent food

We took the cave room which was novel but found it quite damp and cold (in April). I don't know if it's a real cave either. So next time I would stay in a normal room.
We spent one night here. The most amazing thing about it is its location in the middle of the Todra valley, miles beyond the entry to the valley where most tourists turn back. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous and both the dinner and the breakfast were very nice, especially considering the location. I would like to stay longer the next time.

Right in the heart of the Todra gorge, peaceful and beautiful family-run bed and breakfast. Great food as well!

Completely 'unimproved' riverbed crossing to get to the hotel. If there has been any rain or snow melt in the mountains and the waterlevel of the river rises, the crossing becomes difficult to impossible for small cars - the kind that many of us tourists rent in Morocco. And if this was in the hotel description, we must have missed it. Be warned! We and other guests had some scarey moments getting our cars out.
Staying in the cave room was quite novel and much more comfortable and warm than I had imagined. And the location at the side of the river is gorgeous.

Do not plug your hair dryer at night, as the system is not designed to handle even a few hundred watt and you will end up without power the whole night. Location is awesome, but requires some driving to get there. Unfortunately the outdoor pool you see in the pictures was out of order...
Nice idea of bedroom in caves. Breathtaking view in the petit gorge. lovely simple food and amazing staff. Good they run mostly on solar

By the time we got to the Le Festival (end February), late in the evening, we had already battled snowstorms, floods and potholes in the roads. When we approached the place, the hotel owner and some other staff members ran to the road to help me park the SUV stuck in the snow. Food was served, and it was amazing! We stayed in one of the cave rooms, very nicely decorated and clean. The location of this auberge is magnificent, right in the middle of the Todgha Gorge. This canyon lends itself to trekking or just taking amazing pictures. Highly recommended! Thanks for everything!

The highest standard we found in Morocco. Dinner was amazing and the staff really friendly and nice. We slept in the cave room, which is absolutely wonderful.

Great advice on local hikes and pistes, good food, and an awesome Cave room.

Its a large spread-out motel for large tour busses to stop over for the night. If you are looking for a more intimate place, this may not be your thing
On the way to the rest of the next location Good food Clean rooms

Location ( in the heart of Todra Canion ), perfect view , natural food , excellent , hospitable, lovely people. Excellent night with drums and orgin music :):) the best atmosphere in all Marocco.

Beds are rustics and 'quite hard'. There is no network (neither wifi not cell) but this is what we expect in the middle of the nature. The access is via a mountain road (which is what we have expected)
Very well located at the end of the 'gorges du Todra' surrounded only by the moutains. Beautifull landscape. Warm welcome. You shall eat at the auberge (there is nothing else around) but dinner is excellent.

Don't eat the unprocessed olives from the tree. They are a kick in the mouth!
We were slow travelers and arrived long after the sun had set. (We were at least 4 hours later than anticipated). We were utterly amazed at what awaited us at the Festival - a majestic castle in a barren breath-taking landscape, exquisite food flavored by garden herbs and and outstanding, brilliant host. Well worth the drive. This was one of my highlights!

After we came back from visiting the Todra gorge we were told that all other rooms were occupied so we checked in the room we've booked via booking.com. Presented as 'smart deal' we paid 79€ for a standard double room, breakfast included. But this turned out to be the most stupid deal we have ever made! The room was situated on the first floor of the main building (restaurant of auberge), very simple and small (there was no space for our luggage or clothes, just enough space for a small two person bed) and the ensuite bathroom was simple and outdated. In the evening there was no water to take a shower and the following morning just a little bit (luckily warm) water but not enough to shower. After a nice breakfast we complained about the dissapointing room for the price we had to pay. They (reception) agreed that the price was high but couldn't do much about the price (because of admission for booking.com) except offering a discount on food and beverages. In conclusion: a great place to stay, friendly staff, good food and entertainment (music) for those who love it, but DON'T book a standard room (first floor of auberge) because it appears that you can have great rooms in the sidebuilding for only 20€ more. The pictures of the standard room as showed on booking.com are misleading, however if you want to stay in a standard room, don't pay more than let's say 30€ (in the rough guides Morocco 2013 the standard double room is rated 230 dirham)!
We stayed here one night during our two week Honeymoon trip in Morocco. The auberge is situated on a fantastic location surrounded by mountains. A very quiet and peaceful spot from where you can start some wonderful hikes or walks! The staff is sincerely friendly and helpful. When we arrived, the owner welcomed us and said that we've booked standard room via booking.com but that if we would wait there was a chance that we could get a cave room in the sidebuilding. So far so good.

Rain made it impossible to reach the riad by car (however, this was the first time in 7 years) - the staff was very helpful and carried our bags (and us) over a small river
Very cool to sleep in a cave, very close to hiking trails, very helpful staff

Uniqueness of the whole place, I have never seen another place like it- with the Gorge stretching out on either side of you. We stayed in a cave room, mainly for the novelty factor! But the amenities were hotel standard and the bed very comfortable. This is a bit far from civilisation, but with evening meals provided at a very reasonable price (and delicious) there's no need to go anywhere else! It is also close to a few walking trails/ hikes.

We booked the cave because we wanted a charming night, but it turned in a bitter disappointment! The sheets were dirty and it seemed that the room was not really tidy and clean because they didn't give us not even a right number of towels. When we realised it, it was completaly dark because the generator didn't work anymore, so it was impossible to go back at the reception to complain. They excused the day later but the price was not adeguate. To be honest when you pay more than average do you expect at least a clean room!!!
The place is amazing cos the auberge is right in the gorge in the middle of the nature and it is ecologically sustainable. We planned a trekking on the mountains and then we had a guided tour in the gorge and a village where our guide Abdul was born. We appreciated!! Abdul was good at and gentle even because he arranged for us a transport to Merzouga when we knew that the public bus was out of service.

We came by bus so relied on getting a lift to wherever...sometimes had to wait a while for a Berber bus...but all part of the fun...most people we met came with their own transport
Climbing routes in hotel back garden! Laid back and friendly Home from home The owner has real vision and very happy to share his plans Eco friendly Stunning building blending into the landscape. Stunning location

They had already given away the cave room we booked (the morning before on booking.com). We got a "tower room" instead, which was very hot, no fan, let alone aircon, and small. There is no mobile phone coverage, no wifi, and credit card payment isn't possible - which is kind of unexpected if you find a hotel on booking.com.
Secluded location for those who like it that way. Scenic view in the middle of the oued (river/gorge). Hotel is nicely made.

The location is absolutely magnificent! Adi and his staff can be proud of their service and who they are. The best food in Morocco was served here. The Todra Gorge is a must see when you are travelling to Morocco.

Thoroughly enjoyed my recent 1 night stay in this aesthetically beautiful guesthouse which blends effortlessly and sympathetically with the surrounding landscape, making for some lovely photos and memories. Stayed in one of the tower double rooms, which albeit somewhat compact, proved comfortable and pristine, and proffered stunning views from the attached balcony, also boasting some lovely internal features such as the integrated fossil washbasins and natural interior exposed stone walls. The warm, relaxed and friendly attitude of staff made for a highly ambient overall atmosphere during our stay at the Auberge, with food quality also proving excellent; a 3 course evening meal very reasonably priced at 10 euro per head, and easily one of the most delicious meals I sampled throughout my 2 week Moroccan holiday, no doubt in part due to the cook's plentiful use of fresh organically grown produce from the Auberge's own herb, vegetable and fruit garden. The proprietor of this little gem proved as hospitable and ambient as the surroundings he has so thoughtfully created, providing myself and my daughter with transport back to Tinehir on the morning of our departure, and a goody bag of luscious samples from the hotel's garden to sustain us on the next leg of our journey!. In short, I would without hesitation highly recommend a stay in this imaginatively developed and idyllic little bolthole nestled in the rugged beauty of Todra Gorge.
