The best was the staff . Facilities are good and the location is good if you want to be close to the Medina. You will need a taxi if you want to go to the center, but it was only 10-15 DH every time.
If I have to say something that was not good, was that the WIFI was not available inside the room, but it worked perfectly in the hall of the hotel. Recommendations about places in Fes were very good, but an excursion that we did outside Fes, it wasn't and it was quite expensive.
Good location, good breakfast,friendly staff.
The pillow is not comfortable.
One of the staff (Muhammad) was very helpful. He brought us around the old medina and help us to get a transportation to go to the new medina, Meknes and Chefchouen. Wifi is available in the room. The breakfast was very very nice.
The hot shower took a long time to get heated.
It was a really good option for accomodation. The price was good, the room large, the bed as well. The bedroom facilities were good. Breakfast was included and really good also. But the best part was the staff. We had difficult times while in Fes (regarding my health) and the staff was friendly and helped us a lot! We had to extend the stay 1 week more. They helped us finding taxi, hospital, food. Also, in the first day we had lots of help to find our way in the Medina. When we left we had to leave the luggage in the hotel (because it didn't fit in the medical airplane I had to come back home) and they kept our luggage safe, without any extra cost. It arrived home exctly as we left. Super recommend!
Breakfast was great! And included in the price! They even prepared breakfast early one morning for us when we had to leave early. Excellent. Private bathroom was nice, but a little cramped. TV worked. Great location on the edge of the medina & and leather areas. Close to tanneries, but you couldn't smell them (good!). (BTW decent leather slippers should start around 70 MAD. Look in small shops.)
Wifi only worked for us in the lobby, but we were two floors up. But at least they have wifi.
I liked the extra bunk bed in the room and how tidy we found the room. The breakfast was adequate and presented well. The location was very easy to find.
The staff wasn't very friendly or warm. The bathroom could use an upgrade. Wifi was only available on the main lobby/dining area.
Good location near the medina
No toilet paper dirty towels ask about dinner told yes they serve came back from the medina showed us a nearby restaurant which was horrible and expensive
The best breakfast in Morocco ever! Room is quite big and comfortable, you have there all what you need. Staff is really kind and helpfull. Localisation - perfect, in the medina, but near one of the main road, so it's easy to find (for medina conditions).
1)The 3 hotel staff ( Mohammad 1 , Mohammad 2 and Othman) provided us excellent services!! 2)Location is great just next to Medina. 3)The breakfast we had is FREE and soooooo deliciouis . 4)The room and bed are so clean and comfortable for sleep. 5)great value for money! 6)strongly recommend this hotel.
Only regret is that we wish we could stay longer. but we had to leave as our flight was booked in advance.
The staff were very willing to go the extra mile to give us a good experience while at Fes - they even found some spare time to act as guides and take us around the Medina, including a visit to the tanneries, a stop to buy spices from a legitimate seller, etc. In the labyrinth of corridors that is the old Medina, being guided becomes entirely necessary on your first few visits! They got up early to make us breakfast before we departed. They gave complimentary tea.
- Easy to find by Taxi, can stop in front of the Hotel (but remember, it's the other side of the Medina, near the Tanneries - Check with Google Maps) - WiFi in Room (1st Floor) - good breakfast
- Bathroom smelled terrible and I'm not talking about the typical medina hotel smell, I'm talking also about different "chemicals" they are using to avoid the smell or for whatever reason - Rooftop was closed all the time, so why here is a Picture of it - no safe in Room like advertised - had to kill at least 2 big Cockrouches per day
It's cheap and close to the medina. Breakfast was decent and they have wifi. Although the wifi signal is weaker on the higher floors. If you're expecting the usual quality from a typical hotel, you'll be disappointed. It's all very basic. A comfortable enough bed that thankfully had no bedbugs, a shower that didn't have a slow drain, water temperature and pressure was good, an AC unit in the room (although we were there on a ridiculously hot day so even the AC couldn't beat the heat). For the price you pay, I'd say this is decent and good enough. If you can afford a little more then go somewhere else.
The pillows in our room were terrible. They were too thick and extremely lumpy and I had a stiff neck when I woke up. My husband didn't mind. There's no place to put your change of clothes or toiletries in the bathroom. Also, when you shower, the entire bathroom floor gets wet because there's no divider between the shower area and the rest of the space. If you don't mind that then you're fine but I just thought I'd mention it.
Good location, clean room for a fair price.
The public parking is unreliable and chaotic, if you have a car this is not the good place to go. Breakfast is very simple but good.
A wonderful quiet oasis a few steps from the Medina. Staff spoke English, were attentive and kind. The rooms are spacious and clean, plenty of hot water, air con works well and wifi connection fast. If you want a feel for the “real” Morocco I would highly recommend this hotel and its wonderful staff.
Located just outside the medina so it's very easy to find if you get lost. Staff were friendly and helpful (didn't ask for a tip, certainly a rarity among Moroccans, when showing us where the tanneries were located). Large room and shower, but toilet area was a bit small.
Close to a main road so very noisy at night
Myself and a friend booked a room last minute. I read the the reviews which were pretty good but was still surprised at how good bab al madina was. It is amazing value for money. The rooms are spotless and staff are extremely helpful.
Wifi signal was a little weak where we stayed.
The hotel location is perfect. The medina is just around the conner within 2 minutes" walking. We avoided all the hustle finding our raid if it were inside the medina. We were in room 9 & 10 on the top floor. There is a balcony in room 9, which is beyond our expectation. The rooms are clean and spacious, and hot water is available all the time during our stay. WIFI is weak on that floor, but we didn't really mind going downstairs to stay in the lobby, As mint tea was offered for free all the time whenever you are sitting in there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Each of us even got a little gift from the hotel. We feel good value for the price, will recommend it.
Location is great, not in the medina but just at the border. This makes it easy to find and accessible by (red)-taxi.
Location on the non touristic side of the Medina but still handy. The staff were friendly and one took us for a walk around the tannery for free. The room we had was great and large with our own balcony breakfast is fantastic and is included in the room rate. By far the best breakfast we tried in our 2 weeks in Morocco
Wifi only works downstairs.
Very good location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. Would suit families and groups. Breakfast and wifi included. If you want to explore the old medina in fez and are on a budget this I would recommend this place. It has all you need, clean, comfortable bed, hot shower, wifi and breakfast was included.
Location near Medina with parking. Helpful staff, good price.
huge bed, excellent hot shower, very comfortable overall, helpful staff and delicious breakfast with fresh orange juice. location is also really good and easy for taxi drivers to find.
the bathroom was a bit smelly. it was spotlessly clean so must have been something to do with the plumbing, but maybe avoid our room (number 7)...
Friendly staff: he indicated me cooperative artisanal (ie argan oil) who interested me, not in bazar; park in front of hotel, very good breakfast and the best welcome mint tea I had in Morocco. Very high quality/price ratio.
Fes in an ancien city so all hotels are not stylish.
All was dirty! There not a hot water, ugly!
Lovely, polite staff, they spend time with their guests, offer you mint tea whenever you desire. The location is also good, right outside the medina. We were in a double room, first floor, so wi-fi was good there. Breakfast was really nice. I would recommend this place. Next to the hotel to the left there is a small kebab place where they serve great kebabs, also their soup is nice and really cheap. When leaving we got a nice souvenir. thank you!
In general in Fes it feels like everyone is part of a network and they try to take you to places and sell you things. Enjoy the experience and don't be afraid to bargain.
