Excellent place to stay. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Very happy!!
Easy to find and owner Mr. Mohammad gave us a very nice and clean room for three of us. He was very informative and helpful with planning our next visit.Furthermore, dinner he made, claasic Moroccan "tajine" with soup was excellent. Next morning real good breakfast which was included in price of our stay. Carparking was free of charge and absolutely safe. Next day he advised us how to explore Ait Ben Hadou fortress. On foot only ten minutes away, no need to go by car. We can highly recommend "Bagdad cafe" to anyone, Mohammed was the best host we met in Morocco.
Lovely little kasbah with great owner! Thank you Mahomed for the treatment you have us, we felt very welcomed and taken care of!!! Definitely recommend the place to everyone!
Helpful, friendly proprietors
Hotel Bagdad is an excellent hotel for a one night stop to check out Ait Ben Haddou. We arrived an hour or so before sunset and armed with a hand-drawn map and some simple but straightforward tips from Mohamed (as well as a belly full of mint tea and some good conversation) we headed up for a magical sunset on top of Ait Ben Haddou. We ate dinner at the hotel (with others from surrounding hotels, it seemed) and enjoyed delicious and reasonably-priced tagines and a dessert of orange and cinnamon. Quality of sleep was good. The rooms are simple, but spacious and quiet. Breakfast was varied and eggs cooked any way offered, which was a nice touch.
The room for four was colourful and sufficient for our needs with an efficient ac as well as good bathroom facilities, welcoming hosts, close to the ksar (kashbah); both the welcoming tea, dinner and breakfast were very nice - good value for your money
Nothing I can remember, the beds are a bit on the harder side, but I guess that is depending on what you are used to... Enjoy and don't hesitate to book your stay here
Mohammed and his wife are very friendly and open minded hosts of on Bagdad cafe inspired guesthouse. The rooms are simple but nice, eco friendly and there's a swimming pool. The food is simple but good. We stayed here for one night for visiting Ait ben haddou and would recommend everyone to stay here! Not only for the kasbah but especially for the hospitality. Mohammed took all time to look at our Honeymoon trip plan and gave us a lot of great tips we've really enjoyed! So thanks Mohammed and happy birthday (8th october)!!!
Beautiful property well located on the main street (easy to find). An inner courtyard with a big swimming pool is a great place to relax. Each room has an outdoor seating area facing the courtyard and pool. Here we were warmly welcomed with moroccan tea and pastries. Our hosts were very inviting and friendly. The best part of staying here was the food. Dinner was FANTASTIC and we could also get wine and beer with our meal. We were only here for a night but certainly wished we had made it at least two nights. Beautiful location!
Water and electricity went off but this was due to some small rain. No fault of our hosts.
Everything especially the host! Great food. Lovely to have a pool to cool off in after a long drive.
There is nothing that could be done to improve the experience
The owners were very welcoming, warm and nice. All stay they paid a lot of attention to all small details and it made our stay very pleasant. I would recommend this place as the best in Ait benhaddou.
Would highly recommend this ambient, comfortable and very conveniently located little hotel based almost on the Ksar's doorstep. Brilliant value for money, offering pristinely clean and simple tastefully decorated rooms surrounding a central courtyard and swimming pool, this layout creating quite a cosy and sociable atmosphere with comfortable seating/sofa provided outside each room within the central courtyard. Most memorable aspect of our stay however had to be the warm, attentive and highly hospitable couple who own and run this hotel, Mohammed and Rose. They prove a lovely pair, chatty, personable, full of useful advice and tips, and in my opinion the perfect hosts. Food was also delicious and plentiful, and in short, I would thoroughly recommend this family friendly hotel considering it a little treasure of a find.
nothing to dislike about this hotel
The location is good and frankly the hotel could have been a nice stay. However, our stay was marred by a serious bed bug incident. It looks like they had furnished our particular room the previous day and omitted to check the cleanliness of the new furniture. It was infested with bed bugs. My wife, daughter and I suffered greatly all through the night and our body was covered with bites the next day that itched uncontrollably for many days.
Furniture/bedding was infested with bed bugs. My wife, daughter and I suffered greatly all through the night and our body was covered with bites the next day that itched uncontrollably for many days. Rose and Mohammed refunded our money but that is really no compensation for ruining 3-4 days of our holiday. They have to be more careful with what they furnish their inn with.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Nice, big, clean room. Super location near the sites.
This is a real oase!
The hotel is far better than the famous kashbah
This was an excellent choice! The food was delicious (especially the 'tajine kefta', and the yummie French breakfast), the owner Mohammed (French-Moroccan) was more than helpful and very kind, and also: the hotel was very clean and cosy. We would definetely go here again!
It is only possible to pay cash (or by PayPal) in the hotel and the closest by ATM is a 45 minute drive. So make sure you have enough cash when you go there.
Mohammed and his wife Rose are excellent hosts. Mohammed is a consumate operator and everything is well run and thought out from the traditional Moroccan welcome to the dinner at night. Rooms are nice clean and well fitted. Location is 10 minutes walk from the Kasbah. Breakfast included the normal Moroccan fare but with eggs as well. Added advantage of a pool This is a steal at the price. Acid test - would I return? Absolutely!!
The location of Bagdad café is excellent, 5 minutes walking from Ait Ben Haddou. The owner and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful, they provided us with useful hints & tips. We had a nice dinner and breakfast was also good. Rooms are spacious, clean and nice designed with separate bathroom with quality toiletries (with argan oil).
Nothing at all.
We loved our stay at the Bagdad Café. The couple that own the small hotel are extremely friendly and provided for our every need. Very helpful with information re. our travels in Morocco. FYI, they serve wine and beer at dinner!
easy to find, owners friendly and helpful room was comfortable bed a bit too hard for me. but room nicely furnished and very clean.Very good value for the money!
outside light is on a timer so if you want to sit outside your room you have to keep getting up to reset the light. Lots of flies at breakfast a real nuisance some net food covers would have been nice .Bathroom area is only half partitioned from the bedroom.
Evërything, especially the friendly owners. The meals
Rose and Mohommed were wonderful hosts, in fact went way beyond "the call of duty" for us, which we are very appreciative of. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and the food was fantastic. Internet worked well. We were on a private photographic tour, Ait Ben Haddou Ksar was only a short walk down a couple of lanes away from Bagdad Cafe. Thank you for being a very memorable part of our winderful Moroccan trip. Any of our questions about the area were answered very well, we enjoyed wonderful conversations.
Loved every thing about Bagdad Cafe, the hosts and the staff.
Everything was great!
Beautiful Hotel/Auberge/Maison!!! With pool in the yard and only 6 rooms, super friendly owners a French Lady, Rose, and her husbad Mohammed. We loved their children (greets to Sarah, Yannis and of course Elijas!!) They took care of us as my friend was sick (food problems from previous hotel). Situated very near to the famous Kasbah, which was used for many movies as Gladiator, Game of Thrones etc. it was only a 5 minute walk to the Kasbah from Bagdad Cafe. Lovely, relaxing stay! WIFI everywhere, not only lobby! Also shampoo and shower gel provided!
The bathroom smells a little bit. But most of the hotels in Morocco have this problem!
Wonderful friendly family owners, with good guide and tour contacts. Lovely rooms and courtyard. Great food and wine. Easy walking to sites.
