Mohamed Ali the owner and Jamal were very kind, helpful and genuine. Mohamed even helped us to the bus station at 6am! The roof top terrace has one of the nicest views of Chefchaouen, perfect to relax or eat your AMAZING breakfast. Coming from a couple who both work in the hospitality industry, we can just say they are doing an excellent job!
At first it may be difficult to find Casa Del Rio, but a taxi can get you there for a couple of dirham.
the temperature of the shower water is not good.
Having been dropped off in Chaouen in the middle of the night, Mohammed, the owner had no problem with coming to collect us. This generosity continued throughout our stay at the Casa del Rio. The location was great, the hotel was clean and had wonderful views from the rooftop terrace over the whole of the town. Mohammed made our stay exceedingly comfortable, including inviting us to watch the World Cup Final with him and some locals. Overall we had a great time in Chefchaouen and would definitely recommend the Casa del Rio to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area.
Casa del Rio was just great, there was nothing to dislike about it!
As a group of 10 friends travelling around Morrocco this was the best accomodation we could have hoped for. The place is beautiful, extremely well kept and very tasteful! Mohamed and the rest of the staff are truly very friendly and extremely helpful. It was a great experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone interested in visiting Chefchaoen!
The owner Mohamed Ali treated us like royalty he even ordered flowers for my wife's birthday we were very very impressed. he wouldn't even accept the money for them. Great location and very clean rooms. its near everything you need to visit. Loved this experience and will come back next year for sure.
This is a new enterprise for our young host. We were welcomed with mint tea and a log fire. breakfast was enormous. The balcony overlooked the river and the hotel was only a few minutes walk to the medina. Glorious setting
There are a few maintenance issues but more than compensated for by the wonderful staff
The staff was really friendly with us. Many young people. Rooms are comfortable. You have a big bathroom with hot water, but it is true that it has not too much caudal.
I suggest to have more information of the area to give to clients. Breakfast is not included in the room.
Casa del Rio is literarily home away from home. Upon arrival my friend an I received a very much needed "warm" welcome as we got to enjoy a hot mint tea by one of the fireplaces in the common room. Mohamed Ali was an excellent, attentive, and friendly host, as well as a great guitar player (definitely ask him to play you a tune while there). The rooms are very cosy, and the shared bathrooms immaculately clean. The location of this guesthouse is also ideal, as only walking distance from all main attraction yet in a quiet and peaceful area of town, with wonderful view of the mountains from the main terrace. Definitely best value for price, and highly recommended!
Nice location next to the river and mountain view Helpful and very friendly owner Great fire place for cold evenings
staff was sometimes not at the hotel recommended restaurants are not worth the money
I stayed here in this beautiful relaxed town with my son in December. Both rooms had a heater. Owner's charming father Tahir lit fires at night and sat with us late in evening. Well located close to Square and Medina yet not within. Good views. Very good value
Better to arrive in daylight to find this small hotel. When you know where it is it is easy to find and drive to and fro from. Shared bathroom, no breakfast. But such a reasonable price so not surprising.
No hot water for shower No breakfast
Our host was amazing he waited for us at a very late hour. Bring us welcome tea and even beer. Best breakfast even nice terrace very good location
the bathroom was a bit small
Casa del Rio and Chefchaouen was a peaceful respite in the midst of a rather harried trip. The Moroccan government should hire the owner to represent the country internationally - he was one of the most thoughtful, considerate people I have ever met traveling, and was by far the highlight of our Moroccan experience. The home is simple, beautiful - the photos on the website don't do it justice. The pick up from the bus station (even when the bus was 45 mins late), welcome tea and delicious breakfast on the terrace were all wonderful - but what really makes this place stand out is the way they treated us. Would have traded nights in Marrakech and Tangier for more time in Casa del Rio had we known.
Lazy staff Got send to a restaurant where we where ripped off.
Great place, Mohammed was great actually walking us to restaurants and other places of interest. He was very attentive and the location is great. told us how to do things and not to get a guide.
We didnt get a map :( but that was the fun of the town, walking around the tiny street's :)
Muhammed Ali is by far the friendliest and most helpful person we've met running a guesthouse. He gave us a free pick up and drop off, organized our bus tickets, surprised us with homemade yogurt on our first night, etc.etc.etc. He truly cares about great service and seems to be a genuinely good guy. My tip for Muhammad would be to replace the pictures he has uploaded on to the site and invest in a better camera ;) haha. Casa del Rio is beautiful on the inside, trust me, but his pictures don't show it. It has a very charming decor and the view is impressive! For the low price, you also get a kitchen to cook in and wifi in your room... Extremely good value! The location is also very good as you are located close to the stream. It is also very easy to find the square in the medina and cheap eats in the new city. We enjoyed staying at the Casa del Rio and no other guesthouse in Morocco that I have stayed at comes close to the service we received.
Mohammed Ali is a really great host and instantly makes you feel at home. Casa del rio is a lovely, small guest house with plenty of comfortable common areas to sit and take in the awesome views. The location is perfect, offering mountain views whilst listening to the running water in the river below. Highly recommended!
Superfriendly staff, good location
Considering that it is an hostel we didn't expect too much, but we couldn't close our room door and clogged sink
