The breakfasts were good with an extensive choice. The pool & garden area was nice
We had a room overlooking the road outside & it was very noisy. Overall, the hotel was adequate but was tired looking. It was celebrating its 50th year of opening & some areas looked as if they had been untouched for all that time!!
the pool and garden were ok and location within walking distance to the medina . a acima supermarcet was nearby to shop some drinks and other things
TV defect, bathroom old and bad smelling, very old furniture. a minibar to keep at least some cold water would be a good idea. pool closing time to early
It was comfortable and clean
That the rooms were not ready when we arrived this was understandable because we were early but when we got back after lunch at 3.30 we were given a room that was occupied and then when they have us a second room it was not ready. We were really tired and needed to shower and rest and we had to wait for the beds to be done and the bathroom cleaned and new towels put in. We were quite frustrated by then. Other than that all was oksy
It was my first time in Tanga and the hotel staff made me and my partner feel at home. They were very helpfull and kind, the breakfast we hat every morning was also very good and again the staff was great. The swimmingpool and garden is really great to spend a day at or like we have done have a evening picnic in the garden. Around the corner is a friendly supermarket where they speak French and arabic and also helpfull in your needs, in all I will book this hotel again like I already have done.
Moroccan staff thinks to be funny but they are not
I like the staff very accomodating
Super little hotel. It was probably one of THE addresses in Tangiers in its heyday, but like loads of the rest of the city, little has been done to modernise it since then. However, it was big, bright, clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, loads of variety, and lots of it. And we had a hard time hauling our 6yr old out of the pool, which was big, clean and very inviting on a hot day. We would definately recommend the Hotel Chellah as somewhere cheap, central, welcoming and with loads of character!
Location and price. Nice pool
Avoid the restaurant unless you are fond of 1950s English cooking...fried and breaded greasy chicken patties with boiled potatoes was a new low.
Location was great to us. And the pool was absolutely amazing! Breakfast was nice too.
Nothing for this price actually
The lobby is good.
That it was easy to get to from the bus stop. The taxi trip was quite quick.
The staff were always on the phone and abrupt. The food was terrible in the restaurant and extremely overpriced. The "airport taxi" they organised was also very expensive.
Great lobby with great service. Good breakfast buffet. Staff was excellent with their impressive language skills (switching between 5 languages)
The pool was okay.
I have never experienced worse personel! They made SO many mistakes (e.g. giving us wrong keys to other peoples rooms several times) and though it's only human to make mistakes, don't expect to be met with any kind of apology, instead they got angry and very rude towards us. I was yelled at when I asked for some ice for my warm glas of water. It seems like the staff doesn't get along and the overall vibe of the place was horrible and made me want to leave as fast as possible. The rooms had their flaws too (the shower didn't work proberly, flushing problems, wifi only works at first floor, the window couldn't open, lightbubls not working and when I asked if the bulb could be changed they became really unkind). Last but not least, don't eat the food there. The breakfast is somewhat decent (warm yougurt, dry-old pastries and overboiled smelly eggs), but dinner is horrible - I got a steak wich couldn't be cut and half cold vegetable from a can. I ate what I could while an angry servant staired at me. I know this sound unbelievable, but trust me, I only wish to warn you. I have travelled a lot over the years and is use to pretty basic places, so my expectations are never to the roof or anything. But this place is hell and I'd rather sleep in the streets of Tangier than going back.
Breakfast was pretty good, as was the pool. Inexpensive.
Noisy traffic, relatively "run down" room and bathroom.
Good location, and tasty breakfast
Rooms could do with modernising and pictures looked better than real life
I loved the staff and the breakfast. That was all great. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, however, it we dipped our toes in. It was warm. The gardens out back are nice.
Bed was old, uncomforable. Relatively close to some of the sights of Tangier, but a little ways away from the major attractions, tucked away in a neighborhood that is not that safe.
The reception staff was helpful specially Zineb Belhaj.
Room with balcony overlooking pool and garden. Room cleaning and laundry exceptional. Serving staff wonderful. Good value.
Reception staff. All a bit faded. Were not advised it is a dry hotel.
Lovely garden, pool and great area
Excellent value for money with friendly helpful staff. Located in the centre of the new town within easy walking distance of the medina. Breakfast was terrific!
Very helpful, cheerful and welcoming staff who were ready to walk the extra mile in order to provide a great service. The beds were large and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was varied with Moroccan Melwi bread baked right in front of you. The hotel is a walking distance from all the amenities, and the beach is about 15 minutes walk. Will definitely stay there again.
A proffesionally run hotel.

Great garden and pool and good lounge area downstairs. Pretty good breakfast with eggs as well as pancakes, coffee, tea etc.
No fresh orange juice at breakfast and I think I may have got some bed bug bites from there!
Staff were very friendly, especially the doorman and the waiters. Breakfast was good. However, there was a receptionist who was not very helpful and did not know how to direct us to the bus station to get to tangier med.
After we got off the bus from tangier med, we were trying to get our bearings and figure out where to walk. This "friendly" local offered to walk us there and refused to name a price, saying we could pay however much we wanted. We agreed and walked to the hotel I'm about 15 mins. We paid the guy €3, and he made a big fuss about how little that was and got really upset. We ended up paying him €8. We could have gotten a taxi there for less than €3, but didn't want to make a fuss as it was our first day there. While I know this is not relevant to hotel challah (which was great), just wanted to warn other tourists not to fall for such scams.
free parking on the street
WIFI only in the lobby!!! breakfast only from 7am; best days of the hotel are clearly in the past;
