Loved the location and friendliness of the staff. There was free wi-fi in a very pretty lobby. Great value for your money

Good location near the old port and the old city. Very good breakfast which was included in the room price.

Doors locks were not secure, no inside locks or chains. Rooms and hallways were modest at best. Internet was very slow in the rooms and required sitting out in the public areas.

The cheap astro-turf that substituted for carpet in the room & the lousy (read apathetic) attitude of the staff.

The room was quite cold - the windows had a fairly large gap all the way around the heater just couldn't keep up with the winter conditions.

It is a really good hotel, excelelnt staff and value for money. The facilities provided were excellent. Buffet breakfast was fantastic. The staff were so good, it should be a 4 or 5 start rating.

It takes long tiem for hot water to come, there should be restriction for tv channels for children.

This was my second stay at the Hotel Chellah and it was like staying at a different (and significantly better) hotel! This time I was in room 202, which is on the other side of the building (the previous time I was in 116 or 216, I don’t remember which). In my room this time, the room had a large window and balcony that looked out onto the yard in the back of the hotel, overlooking a pool, lawn and trees. The window let in lots of light but did have wooden shutters and a large curtain if you prefer it to be darker. The room seemed fairly new and was very clean with a large comfortable bed – it seemed perhaps to have been more freshly painted than our previous room and also had new carpeting. We had lots of hot water with decent pressure at night and great pressure in the morning. As with our last stay, the breakfast had a great variety of hot and cold items – one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in Morocco. Same great location, a short walk into the medina and other parts of Tangier, with lots of bars and restaurants in a one block radius. And this time we had drinks in the hotel lobby, which was pretty inexpensive. As with the last time, I booked through Booking.com and got a much lower price than the posted rate, so I’d recommend checking online before showing up.

Only one minor note about the room, the television didn’t seem to work very well, although we weren’t using it that much anyway.

The bathrooms were old and dirty and also the toilet. No wifi in the rooms. We had to change 2 times the room due to 1st bad tv 2nd very filthy bathroom. The third room was ok but not all that. Not all rooms have satellite and the salon downstairs is boring though it has wifi.

My husband and I recently stayed here for one night (New Year’s Eve actually). This hotel has a pretty lobby and a nice breakfast buffet. Clean and safe, which were the only things that we cared aboutLots of restaurants, bars, cafes within quick walking distance. By booking through booking.com we got a substantially lower rate than what we saw posted. If we had paid through the full amount, I think I would have been disappointed. But since we did not, it was a decent value.

Our room, while it was not bad, was fairly low frills - for example the window had a crack and the television only received four or five channels. Outside the room one of the elevators stopped an inch or two above the level of the floor, which was just weird. We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel because walking down Avenue Mohammed V (coming in from the train station—which is about a half hour walk, so if you have much baggage you may be better off taking a cab), we could not find a sign for the hotel’s street (Rue Allal Ben Abdellah) to turn down. Wasn’t too big a problem, certainly not the hotel’s fault if the street has no sign, and we quickly found it, just something to be aware of.

The staff was very helpful, breakfast was made with the omlets of your choice, and I would recommend as a very reasonably price place to stay.

The staff were friendly. The walls were a bit thin so you could hear the cleaning ladies talking early in the morning. But its not in a touristy spot but close enough to make it ok. I would consider staying there again, it was clean.

They advertised that they accepted Amex but had never used it and this caused challenges

City centre location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurants in the local area. Good value for money. Good breakfast - didn't use restaurant for lunch or dinner but look okay. Served alcohol.

Smoking in the lobby area but legal to smoke inside in Morocco.

Room is dark because of the carpet colour furniture and bed covers, i hope the hotel changes the room colour scheme to brighten up the room.

Great price for a small group of backpackers--everyone else though seemed to be well off retirees. Huge buffet breakfast, much more than we expected, would stay here again and recommend to others

The city itself is your average dirty port city

Cheap stopover for the ferry. Breakfast will set you up for your onward jouney. Bed was comfortable and clean.

Rooms and bathrooms are very standard but as I only paid 32€ for a double room I am not complaining.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke at least a few languages which was also very appreciated and helpful. The room was quiet and quite comfortable.

it was clear that is was a very good hotel once. the income was a very high level and it had a quite good garden. good breakfast

the day we arrived the swimming pool was dirty, one day later it was better. and there where hairs on the toilet in our room. in the room you can see it was once a very luxury hotel but stayed like that for the last 30 years including the bathroom, courtants and bed spread.

The only one good thing at this hotel was staff, which was very nice and helpful, and lady with pancakes at the breakfas.

it was very unclean hotel, with a broken window, you could just put your hant outside through this window, the smell of cigarettes in the room was horible. it fas a bit far from medina, but taxi costs just 0.5eur. breakfast was poor. It wasn very expensive, but i think we paid too much for such hotel.
