The staff were excellent and made you feel welcome right from the moment you were greeted from the taxi. Breakfast excellent on the roof terrace. Romantic Riad in an interesting part of the Medina. Spa facilities also available.
I liked everything! from the moment we arrived! Said made us feel very welcome with a collection from the airport & a 3 course meal waiting for us, our room was beautiful, which he also upgraded for us ...however I dont think you would be disappointed with any of the rooms (aircon/heating, hairdryer, bottled water) Beds really comfy, had one on the best nights sleep, you'd never guess you where right in the heart of all the chaos going on around you!... Roof terrace also lovely to sit in the evening with a glass of wine & watch the sun go down before heading out. Said is full of useful info and is happy to help with directions round the Medina...yes you probably will get lost..but its part of the experience! I cannot wait to go back to the Dar Akal.
Having to leave! All I can say is when venturing out into the Main Square at night through the Medina ...make a mental note of points of references..Arches, trees etc...as once the souks close & its dark it all looks very different! A small tourch is also useful as off the main allyway sometimes the lights are out...These are not really problems just something to be aware of.
The rooms are just beautiful, the location is very convenient and amazingly tranquil given you are around the corner from Place Moukef. From the time I arrived I was made to feel so welcome. Extremely impressed with the staff who were all very attentive and helpful.
Staff, architecture, breakfast!
Bed quite small in length and suite tends to be noisy due to mosque and activity on the small street.
A very beautiful suite in a pretty riad. The service provided by the manager was excellent (my elderly Mother was not well and Saeed was incredibly supportive). The food was lovely and the whole place was spotlessly clean.
Everything about this cute little Riad is perfect! Location (central, but safe and quiet), facilities (rooms, hammam, pool, terrace etc), food and last but not least, the staff (esp. Said)! Would recommend to anyone and will definitely come back!
Loved it all, can't wait to go back. Did the recommended day trip to the hills, well worth it amazing views. Said will help with anything you want
Nothing to put here, loved it all
What a fantastic welcoming, tranquil place to relax after the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Said and his staff could not do enough to make us welcome. A truly fantastic place to stay.
Beautiful rooms, nice rooftop pool, terrace, very peaceful, friendly staff, good value and tasty food (breakfast and lunch)
Slight noise from the alleyway when the windows are open.
Everything was wonderful. Said was a fabulous host. He was very accommodating to a friend and her child who came to visit a couple of times, and went out of his way to be helpful and literally to guide us around. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautiful, the dinner we had one night on the rooftop was absolutely delicious and the place was tranquil, gorgeous and spotless.
Host - 'Said' Location Facilities Plunge pool Breakfast Big rooms
Patrick, the riad manager, was exceptionally friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond, was very welcoming, and made our stay delightful. The facilities are beautiful, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast was also really delicious.
My only complaints are that the location is a bit tucked away, so more difficult at night if you're prone to getting lost (which is definitely likely in Marrakech). The wi-fi was also extremely spotty from our room on the first floor, but this wasn't a big issue as we just walked outside to the lounge area to use the internet.
Location:easy to find and reach. Despite the central position it is in a quiet area. Service: the manager was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. And he supported us with everything during our stay. Place:quiet, relaxing, elegant, peaceful. Facilities: wifi, delicious food, nice little hamman, terrace with view and swimming pool.
We liked everything about Dar Akal. We wouldn't change a thing! The staff, especially Said, were so helpful and accomodating.
We loved everything about Dar Akal -- the outstanding service, the gorgeously restored riad, the location, the wonderful meals, the rooftop view, the hammam experience, a fantastic massage, excellent recommendations, insider tips - we could go on and on. Said and his team were top notch and we couldn't have asked for more!
Everything was perfect. Compliments to Said and his team.
Perfect place to stay for a short stay with friends or family. Great staff and in the heart of the Medina to get a real Riad experience
Our stay was absolutely amazing. Riad is well located within the medina, 5 min walk from souks, 10-15 min to Jemaa el-Fna. Decor was beautiful, very tasteful, airy feel, not too many bric-a-brac bits. Roof terrace with plunge pool also fab, lots of different areas to sit. Dar Akal is very clean and incredibly well run place. Said who speaks several languages was a fantastic host, nothing was a trouble for him!
Accommodation, food and service was 5 star. Great place
Everything, it is a beautiful Riad with an incredible host (Said) and amazing food. We would not stay anywhere else!
We received an excellent welcome introduction to the Riad - we particularly liked the map showing our whereabouts and used it on all our visits out. The room was fresh and clean - we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The staff and manager Siad were very polite, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and always surprised us as something different came out on each of our mornings there!
The location is a bit far from the square (although we knew it was 10 mins away when we booked). It's not a total negative but it can feel a bit stressful getting too and from the Riad because of all the motorbikes, twists and turns. But hey, I guess that's half the fun of Marrakesh!
Said and his staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was a lovely quiet oasis of calm in a bustling mad area. It was a bit scary on arrival down so many narrow alleyways but we did get used to it - it was an adventure! We enjoyed two evening meals there as well.
A beautifully restored riad run by lovely helpful staff. A great base for seeing Marrakech and the surrounding countryside.
Dar Akal is a very lovely Riad. Wonderful staff! Said is the best host ever. With his advices you can't get lost in the Medina's alleys
Said is the best host ever. We loved Marakech. Dar Akal had everything to do with that! Thx again
