Lovely building in a great location. Spotless, comfortable room at a very reasonable price. Splendid breakfast on the roof terrace with amazing views. Lovely staff. We would go there again but would spend a bit more and have a room with a sea view.

Traders in main street extremely irritating - head for the top of town if you want to buy stuff. Watch out for the thieving shoe-shine kids in the big square and the old boy who wants to show you round the shipyard - he is after your money!

First night the room was cold but the second night we were upgraded to a better room for no extra cost.

Within the Medina, easy to find. Nicely decorated room. Magnificent sun terrace, great views. Nice Breakfast.

Internet connection only in public areas. Rooms description on the site should specify whether it has or not sea views, ours didn´t have and it was a bit disappointing.

We had the twin room which is downstairs next to reception. Fine this time as we were only guests but would be quite noisy if full I think.

Sea view room was fantastic. Very atmospheric. Breakfast on roof top terrace.

We had a lovely room with a sea view so we opened our window and listen to the waves crash on the rocks all night. Also had a very nice breakfast on the rooftop. Really enjoyed our stay!

Spectacular location and views from our room

It is a stunning hotel, very well designed interior. The staff were extremely helpfull, Abdul should get a medal, such a friendly helpfull person.

Nice ocean views from the terrace, helpful and discreet staff, breakfast ok, room was tidy and clean. location is ok as you can walk easily to anywhere worth seeing.

Rooms a bit price for the facilities and I expected seaviews from the rooms which there weren't. Was aso hard to get to without a guide.

Was not given the room we actually booked, and ended up staying on the third floor - that's a lot of stairs, and no help offered with our luggage. Although it's nice to have the terrace overlooking the sea, that's the only good point about the location of this place, as it's quite far off the main drag, and actually on the fringes of a fairly dodgy part of Essaoira. Overall, quite over-priced for what it was by Moroccan standards. I've stayed in far better for much less.

In the middle of the old city centre, very nice and in the midst of all what's going on. from here you can walk anywhere through town. remember that there is no car park at this hotel and you will have te leave your care outside of the medina. Rooms are very neat. Nice roof terrace.

Beds are very humid because of the thickness of the walls and the fact that there is no climate control. My pyjama's actually got wet in the bed and the staff only offered to aditionally hire a fan at first. After discussing they let us into another room wich had the same problem. If you plan to book the cheepest room, don't, because it's a basement with no windows. The more expensive rooms are really nice decorated but also humid in a way that your clothes get wet like in the Amazone. The owner was annoyed by the fact that we went into another room and did not made us feel at home. All togheter; lot's of places to stay in Essouira, skip this one.

The best thing about Dar al Bahar is it's excellent view of the ocean both from the room and the sun terrace. the place is quiet, rooms are very clean, bathroom ok, histel staff very nice and helpful.

its hard to locate on your own especially in the evening as it is in the middle of the medina but you can pay someone to take you there. watch out where you leave car, even on parking in the port we got our tyre broken and had to pay for the repair.

great location, clean rooms and great terrace to have breakfast or late afternoon chill.

Riad Dar Al Bahar is located in the very heart of Essaouira medina. The view from the roof terrace is breathtaking. Jean-Claude, the owner of riad, is very hospital and helpful.

Access to some upper rooms could be difficult due to high and narrow steps.
