    Location. Hotel was decent.

This hotel has cheated us by charging us twice. First they added 3% to the total amount for using a credit card to pay which was nowhere stated on the reservation. On top of that they charged us twice as we learnt after returning home. We contacted them and at first they said we were lying they had charged. After we sent them proof, they began claiming they would send us the money one way or the other. At first we thought we would trust them but after nearly a month we have still not recovered the money. Horrible. You would not want to get stuck staying at a hotel that would rip you off in this manner.

excellent position, very kind and helpful staff, fabulous breakfasts, unbeatable price.

wi-fi signal was poor. just a few details of the bathroom could have been better but still all was good in the end.

We LOVED everything about this incredible riad. We instantly felt at home, having been given a warm welcome by Selma. The room was lovely, the breakfast was exceptional, and the location could not have been better. We strongly recommend Dar Al Madina Al Kadima to anyone staying in Fez.

The wifi in our room was weak.

This hotel is simply perfect, I can only recommend it!! The staff is nice, the location is excellent (near the medina, but luckily not actually in it), the building and the interior design is beautiful. The breakfast is also excellent. We had a hard time finding the building though and a local "guide" ripped us off taking us there, so here's how you get there: opposite to Hotel Batha (across the big road) there's a narrow pedestrian-only street going into a sort of maze. Enter that road, go straight about 30 meters, when the road turns left, you should follow it, and you'll find the hotel on your right.

The bathroom smells a little, but it's generally the case near the medina, as the sewage system is not so developed.

The place is a gem of a hotel. The service was perfect, the room was stylish and clean. Quite an experience.

When you arrange for an official guided tour with the hotel, be sure to specify if you prefer a tour of the main architectural sights (including a specific commentary on the architecture and history) or a tour of the traditional workshops (which in themselves are no less worthwhile). I felt there was a misunderstanding as I was shown the local crafts in great detail while the main historical sights were only given a passing commentary.

-Very convenient location. -Very decadent interiors. -Relatively spacious rooms with comfortable beds and pillows. -Courteous and helpful staff.

-The room had a bit of an odor (not necessarily bad), but made the room feel a bit stale. -The shower compartment leaked water onto the other bathroom area, making it a bit wet and inconvenient.

The Dar is beautifully decorated with traditional Moroccan woodwork and jeli tiles. The staff are very friendly and eager to please.

The guide they arranged was only fair. His English was excellent and he was very knowledgeable, but it seemed he was bored with the tour after the first hour and quit explaining things unless asked. It may have been because we did not want to shop at all.

Location ideal for first timers, 100m form Batha museum. Immediate access by car; parking (paid) at 50m. New building and friendly staff. Dinner advises very succesfull. A bit strange smell in the room, but easily forgoten; nothing to worry about.

Stairs too narrow for bulky luggage (however, staff eager to carry stuff up and down)

The staff are all exceptionally nice people...helpful beyond any reasonable expectation. For the Fez festival, hard to see how location could be better. It's a beautiful place.

    No complaints

Virtually everything about the Riad was great, and the staff was exceptionally attentive.

Wi-Fi did not reach up to our room, but was readily available in the main lobby, which worked out fine.

Its a new guesthouse so its in pristine condition. Bed was comfortable, and the cable tv was a big plus. The lobby is really cozy and we had dinner there. We were craving for cup noodles and our own beverages which we packed with us. We had to ask for hot water from the staff repeatedly to prepare our own meal but he was absolutely fine with it. He had to climbed three floors to prepare the hot water for us free of charge and with a smile.

The room has only basic amenities. Would be good to include floor towel, shampoo, hair dryer, kettle. If you plan to have a shower , there is a chance that you will not have hot water as staff explain that if guests shower at the same time, there will not be enough hot water for everyone. And there are only a few rooms in this guest house. The water was ice cold by the time my husband showered in morning.
