Good value accommodation which was clean and comfortable.
The location did not feel safe, we were two women travelling on our own and felt threatened when walking in the local area. This was the first time,we had felt like this, having previously stayed in tangiers, marrakech and chefchaucon. The hotel has closed circuit tv and an electronic gate with buzzer to enter, so this added to our discomfort, knowing it was felt necessary. Our room was very near to the reception and the noise from the receptionist appearing to have very emotional arguments late was not pleasant either, however it was quiet from about 11.30 and we slept well thereafter.
We were travelling in December. This place was the coldest place I have ever had the misfortune to experience. Every location was cold. TV is a hybrid flat screen/CRT thing with poor quality picture and reception. The A/C did not work in the 1st room we had, we moved to another room and it was not much better. The beds are small. The rooms are painted in dark colours and it is gloomy in winter. Lighting in rooms dull. Only blankets on the beds, no eider/douvet, bed cold. The bathroom was a bit grubby. The wifi does not work in the rooms you sit in the cold court yard to use it. The staff were very young, disorganised, inexperienced, unhelpful and unprofessional this included allowing a high pressure sales person into the hotel to harass guests/us for town tours. Difficult to get taxi to drive from Medina to hotel.
not so much worth for the money
Very helpful staff; they helpes us to organize the official guide to Fez Medina. The guide was fluent in english and well educated.not pushing us to buy anything in the Medina. The hotel ambience is wonderful, rooms are tidy with morrocan feel.
The only thing is the staff didnt know where a local hammam is and to recommend a good, local restaurant.
Friendly staff. Quiet backstreet location but easy walk to most places in New Town except Station. Better wifi than in my Moroccan apartment. Secure private parking. Nice breakfast served up in the garden. This is probably my 5th hotel in Fes in the past 6 months and OK it's not 4 star but I recommend it. Bars and a couple of restaurants nearby.
Nothing at this price.
I liked the garden and the coffee was excellent, it was a great place to chill for a few hours after the hecticness of the city.
It was a little far out, though it is easy to get taxis. Didnt see many other people so ambience was quiet.
Female staff joyful and very helpful. Green little garden, very airy thanks to the large covered terrace (pleasant in the hot summer). Clean rooms decorated in Moroccan style. The Mediterranean room is on the 1st floor open to the terrace, as several rooms are. Very quiet place in a quiet area of the modern fes. (Couple of doves songs wake you up in the summer!). The hotel is 200m from a Catholic Church. Sunday mass is at 10.30 am. Joyful choir, beautiful songs ( negro spirituals) performed by local African students. An unforgettable experience thanks to the close location of Dar Aliane.
The smell of spices when you enter the hotel. Beds a bit hard but ok with 2 blankets on top !!
It was beautifully decorated and a very Pleasent place to stay, nice and clean and the breakfast was delicious we had more than enough!
I would have preferred to stay in the old medina, however it's down to personal preference, and it was only 10 minute taxi drive away :)
Traditional look of the house.
Breakfast was cheap but simple, and my room was facing onto the courtyard which means that you don't feel you have much privacy, which was fine for me but if traveling with your wife would be an issue.
I loved the decor of hotel, the staff were very kind and helpful, location was within walking distance of hotel, if you're a fit person. Availability of taxis very good.
A little too much noise within hotel, however we were very close to reception. Strongly recommend English speaking guide be requested when accepting a tour, our experience with guide wasn't a good one he would not listen to my requests and was quite pushy.
Breakfast was excellent, Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, they called a cab when I needed one, and it was only a 20-30 minute walk to the Medina on safe streets.
While quiet at night, if you also want quiet during the day, get one of the rooms towards the back of the hotel. I had the front room, right behind the check-in desk, and could hear everything going on during the day (but had no issues at night).
It was exactly as on photos in advertising: nice room on the floor, very friendly staff in a quiet part of Fes, close to Medina. I highly recommend Dar Aliane for staying in Fes.
Decor and ambiance. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, especially with our tandem. Plenty of room to construct and pack a big bike
Location not ideal for medina etc, but allowed us the space we needed for the bike. Poor wifi in bedroom areas
A beautiful, quiet hotel in an excellent location - close to the train station and restaurants in Villa Nouvelle, and an easy walk (20 mins or so) to old town and the medina. Very friendly and hospitable staff, early check-in after our overnight bus from Merzouga was not a problem, and the breakfast spread was fantastic! The room was a little small for the price but that's Fes for you. Definitely recommend this hotel.
I loved the Moroccan decor and the outside setting was so airy and peaceful. Many places to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff very friendly and helpful. I would stay again and definitely recommend it! Thank you for a great memory of Fes!
the architecture of the place, nice courtyards
bathroom was not decent, very cold compared to the heated room. the room for breakfast was not heated, it was all very, very cold.
