Score from 241 reviews Wonderful
The Riad has a fantastic interior, and our room was wonderful with an emperor size bed.
Fes was less sympathetic than I remember from a previous visit 30 years ago! The medina is an amazing place but very neglected, especially if you compare with the equivalent in Meknes. Also it's impossible to move 100 metres without someone trying to sell you something.
Everything was great: the personnel, the breakfast, the room, the facilities. Although the entire ryad is furnished with an incredible good taste, the inner court-yard is of a rare beauty. We were one of the few tourists at that time, and although we reserved the cheaper room in the annex, we were offered a room in the ryad itself for the same price!
nothing, everything was amazing.
What a great place! We too were upgraded to a larger room because the hotel was not full. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and couldn't be happier. The included breakfast was wonderful especially the fresh orange juice, Moroccon coffee, fresh pastries and more. The location was good for us being on the outer edge of the Medina and away from the bustle and close to the outside gate. The tile work, decor and small touches in the hotel are wonderful too. Our first night we ate in the hotel and it turned out to be the finest prepared food we had the whole time. Unfortunately, their menu is very pricey so we had to eat eleswhere for the rest of our time. This forced us to explore all the hidden restaurants nearby, but the food was not as good. We would definitely stay again.
We would have eaten in the hotel more if the prices were lower. Food is great though so the prices are probably justified. We just couldn't pay those prices.
Staff was great (especially Mustafá)! We were 2 couples and we reserved suite amina, but since Hotel wasn't full they upgraded us to 2 beautiful and confortable bedrooms (with great bathroom) in a house just in front of the main building, witch had all facilities corresponding to the main building including wireless wich worked very well! Location is near Bab Guissa, wich is very convenient if you have a car, since you can leave it in the park (not free) just outside medina and walk just a bit to the Hotel (very near Sofitel, but not easy to find since google maps isn't very usefull inside medina)! Great breakfast and great dinner! Amazing views from terrace!
Note that suite amina has 2 bedrooms, but only one bathroom and only one of the rooms has air conditioning! At night not a lot of restaurants opened - location is not the most "touristic" area.
