I'm pretty sure that Dar Bladi is really nice too, since we were inside for 5 minutes. But because we arrived late and it was still the beginning of high season (there were no other guests), the management (which also owns Dar Daïf) told us to stay in the other hotel instead. It didn't really matter, because is was the best hotel during our whole trip. Very friendly staff (they even cleaned our rental car!), beautiful courtyard, nice room.. it was all perfect!
The riad itself, the rooms were comfortable. Decent value
'Guests must walk two hundred meters uphill, through the dust and rocks and a village with crowing chickens to get to the hotel after checking in at a sister hotel. The location is hard to find, directions are poor and the road makes you feel like you are on a safari without a map.
The place is run by a French owner who is really nice and kind and told us precisely how to get to Essaouira with maps and everything. All the staff is great actually. The location is really nice, though it's not in the centre of Ouarzazate it's really convenient to relax and spend some time, and easy to find. The food is delicious and the garden inside with the pool is just amazing!
Wi-fi signals are generally weak.
It is really good one in this area.the taste of the boss of this hotel is fantastic.he is very nice and help us with everything we need.
The rural location was peaceful and provided a very unique experience. The staff were kind and considerate. The huge breakfast on the terrace was lovely. Would stay there again and definitely recommend.
The service was good. The hotel is not accessible for car. You shall park your car and do the check-in in another hotel, and then go to your hotel on foot.
Beautiful traditional building nicely decorated. Amazing views from the roof terrace and the tranquillity!
If you haven't got a car, it is a bit out of the way and taken a taxi there is very expensive, compared to normal taxi fares in Morocco (100 MAD from Ouzazarte which is only about 5km)
Location, Helpful Staff
Poor support of transportation between the town and the hotel. It costs 100 dirhams each way. For the distance, it is extremely expensive.
Interesting accommodation in old Kasbah next to adjoining hotel. Mysterious walk, in dark, to find room! Staff very friendly. Good food. Breakfast on roof a nice experience.
Initially, a bit confusing finding Dar Bladi (4 km from Ouarzazate) then finding we had to book in at the partner hotel next door. Once sorted, everything fine
On the bright side, Mr. Ichou provided the best service, being very polite. He asked us at what time we wanted to have breakfast and was always very attentive. The riad has great views over the city and the mountains.
The riad is located so far out, that's impossible to make it without a car and GPS. The reception is at sister riad Dar Daif, at which the receptionists tried to sell us dinner at the price of 220 DHs each. Then, they bargained to 130 each, but we had to choose the exact same menu (out of 4 options). Then they bargained one more time, that we could take 2 options. We ended up having a buffet dinner for the same price somewhere else. The access to the riad goes through a very scary path, deep inside the neighbourhood where it's located. It includes climbing up a muddy hill, and going through a tunnel under somebody else's house. To our luck, it was raining when we left, so you can imagine. It's ok once you are in the house. Wifi was very unstable.
Very helpful and caring staff. Very nice terrace for the breakfast. Simple, but tasteful rooms.
Everything was fine.
This was our best accommodation during the all journey in Morocco! Very nice and friendly people, great food, superior terrace with a great view. Quite and calm location but very nice and "true".
That we had to stay just one day........
Great views from the terrace. Comfortable rooms.
We stayed in Dar Bladi in winter. Breakfast and dinner were in a cold room without any heating. The last morning there was no water, so we couldn't take a shower, because of reparations of a fountain in the main building. They could have postponed the reparation until we left the building. Also electricity was shut down before we left the building.
location of the house is very nice - in the middle of real moroccan village. Eat on the roof top terrace and enjoy great views. Despite we were the only people in the hotel and arrived late, we got nice dinner and even listened to local songs :)
check how to find the house before you go
